In my dreams, I have a machine to help teleport me back to Japan so I can have ramen at Aji No Mingei. I was here almost five years ago, and it is clearly the BEST ramen I have ever eaten in Japan. RakiRaki Ramen on Convoy is the closest comparison that I have to this amazing ramen. The Aji No Mingei I went to was located in Fussa just off the USAF Base. You can easily walk there in about 15 minutes and it’s not that long of a walk if you have company. The décor was quaint and the servers were very attentive and polite. We had a push button on our table that made a «ding» sound to alert the waiters that we were ready to order. Our ramen came out with a large wooden handle spoon that looked like a ladle. I could have eaten my ramen with the spoon on its own if I wanted which I thought was really neat. The ramen was piping hot and the handmade noodles were soft and gooey. The broth was very rich and flavorful and looked very creamy in color. I have to dig into my archive of photos from Japan so I can post a picture of the ramen I had. If you’re planning a trip to Japan, add Aji No Mingei to your must try ramen shop list!
