I ate here for dinner the other night when I was traveling through Kyoto on business. They offer vegetarian ramen, which is not easy to find in Japan. They stay open late, too. It was exactly what I needed after a very long day. The food was delicious, and the two staff members were nice and helpful. I also had a pleasant chat with the owner, who seems like a lovely man, and I wish him and his business well.

Gion Naritaya makes a solid mazesoba with Halal ingredients, but in a traditional style. The manager of this restaurant is very friendly and the food is extremely good. It was a battle of wills not to eat here every day when I was living next door.
