Vegetarian restaurant in Japan? Yes, it’s true. If you’re in Arashiyama with a vegetarian make sure to stop by this place for lunch or dinner. If you’re not veg but are feeling adventurous then this place is still worth a look. The sushi wrapped fried«chicken»(not real meat) was surprisingly delicious. The seaweed and rice goes nicely with the salty, crispy«chicken». I definitely recommend it above the plain fried«chicken». But the best by far were the gyoza which were delicious! Crispy on the bottom, juicy inside, and full of flavor, they make you not miss meat for a while.

The food here is amazing. The ramen is delicious, and the soy meat burger that comes with the combo. I can’t believe how good that was. We also got an order of pot stickers and were amazed by how much flavor they had. Would definitely go back if we were in town longer. The staff was also amazing. They took the time to find out where we were going and showed us on multiple maps different ways to get there, also told us interesting things about where we were going we would have otherwise not known. My favorite vegan restaurant in Japan so far. Another thing I liked was when I asked about the tea, she brought me a book that explained what it was and the benefits it had for the body. Overall great experience, friendly helpful people and amazing food. If your in the area I highly suggest trying this place.

Everything I tasted was amazing! The menu is organic, vegan, and free of food additives & white sugar. The chef has been a certified vegan macrobiotic cooking instructor & nutritionist for 30 years. They speak English well, and the menu is also in English. The location is perfect being directly across the street from the train station. I highly recommend eating here if you visit the bamboo forest or the monkeys.
