It connects Shijyo to Sanjyo with a long arcade. Also, it is the most bustling arcade mall in Kyoto and has an old-time history. Very popular among tourists rather than local persons. Whenever I walk on this street, I see groups of students in school excursion peeping in and out or strolling on the street. This is because not only long-established souvenir shops but also casual boutiques, accessories shops, varieties of restaurants, sweets shops, or cosmetics targeting for the youth stand side by side. When I was in college days, I often went to have pizza in S providing buffet. I ate as much as I could in those days. Now it’s hard for me to have oily voluminous pizza. Another surprised me is there is approximately 10 shrines or temples in the mall. Also in Osaka Ohatsu Tenjin is located in the vicinity of commercial mall. But not so many temples or shrines stand like this area. I became greedy to pray for business prosperity, health, scholarship, happiness, etc., hopping spotted shrines or temples. Teramachi mall lies in parallel to it. It has more tranquil and adult atmosphere compared with this mall. I feel myself at home there, as I become a middle-aged woman.
