It has a vast ground with a primeval forest and streams. If you walk along the pathway, you will arrive at Shimogamo shrine, designated as world heritage. This is considered one of the famous power spots in Kyoto. I sometimes took a walk in this forest in my college days, because my university stands in the neighborhood. I came here to see a famous shrine event before Aoi Festival called Yabusame(Horseback archery). Usually this forest is not crowded with pedestrians, but on that day it was overcrowded with viewers. The event was carried out in the late spring and the place was so hot, being wrapped up with enthusiasm of viewers. When a Filipino friend of mine liked this forest on a poster at the first sight, she asked to me, «Where is this? I would like to go here!» I replied, «This is Tadasunomori, close to Demachiyanagi station». I would like to take her here, but it has not yet been realized. If you come here, fresh greenery season is recommended rather than autum leaves season!
