Went here at 5:30pm on a weekday with four hungry, Mexican food lovin’ adults, one toddler, and one newborn child in a baby cart. The manager said we could not take the baby cart inside, despite having zero customers(again, it was 5:30pm). The restaurant had plenty of floor space – it was actually pretty large. La Salsa sits inside Yokohama World Porters – a family-oriented shopping mall owned by ÆON – next to an amusement park. This all seems lost on them. We live in Tokyo and often bring baby carts into restaurants with much less floor space.(Tokyo is supposedly less kid friendly than Yokohama, too.) The manager at La Salsa was unfriendly and unwilling to make exceptions to their rigid and nonsensical rule even at a reasonable time when we’d most likely have finished and left before any other customers arrived. We actually thought that this was so absurd that we walked away, talked about how absurd it was, then walked back a few minutes later to ask again in an «are you sure» sort of way. Manager was sure. He was bent on losing business over it, so we left. We ended up going to an Italian restaurant with friendly staff a few doors down and bringing baby carts inside. We finished and left before other customers arrived.

I almost gave this restaurant a 4 but it would have been a bit biased because I was craving a burrito and there aren’t many burrito places in the Tokyo/Yokohama area :( As far as the food, it was good don’t get me wrong! I enjoyed it a lot and luckily at the time we went there weren’t many people. I ordered the steak burrito and the steak wasn’t too tender but it was filled with onions(which I’m not a fan of). It was also a bit spicy which I was not expecting for a Japanese burrito! There was also rice and very little beans so… not your typical Californian burrito. I’m not sure about their other food but maybe if I try it my score will be a bit different but as a burrito, I don’t think it’s the best! But it will fill your cravings and is a very big size. Some other good points are the salad bar and salsa bar. The salad bar has a lot of choices including potato and macaroni salad which isn’t Mexican but hey, it’s still unlimited. As far as the salsa bar this was surprisingly descent and had a lot of choices. Their spicy salsa is actually spicy so be warned… the second and third spicy ones were actually pretty spicy but had a really good taste. Next time I think I’ll have to try it with tortilla chips not just on the burrito. Bad points… It’s expensive for a burrito, like 1500 yen. The size is big but even the gourmet burritos in the states don’t go over $ 10. I was a bit disappointed with this and it’s unlikely I will try this place again. But if you’re in the area, it might be something to consider.

Made a pit-stop here before hitting up my drunken affair at Akarenga. This place certainly does not disappoint my tastebuds and most importantly my wallet! Lol ¥1,500 yen all you can STUFF yourself with whatever creation you can come up with and slap it on a 6″ inch in diameter made to order tortilla!!! Foockkk brah! Now that’s a FOCKEN deal! For ¥1500 yen, they have an array of meats, a mediocre salad bar, a drink fountain, and a desert bar made up of flan, tapioca, jello-shots(joking foockers!), ICECReam, and these little cinamon-sugar tortilla crisps you can plop all over your icecream, taco, face, hand, whatever floats your boat! Just don’t get in on your pants like me:) now stop reading this, and get yooo ass over there! Lol

Though it may not be the most«authentic» Mexican restaurant, this is one of my favorite lunch spots in the Minato Mirai area. Located in the World Porters shopping malls restaurant floor(5th floor), for a little over 1000 yen you can eat as many burritos, tacos, fried chicken, pasta, curry-rice, salads, and etc. as you want. You make the tacos and burritos on your own by selecting the fillings(the«meat» selections are: steak, ground beef, pork, chicken and varying seafood) with whatever salsa sauce(of about 5 different kinds) and veggies. The other stuff you serve yourself buffet style. They have a decent salad bar as well. I highly recommend it. The drinks are free flowing as well! And there’s ice cream and other desserts included. Love this place.
