Back when I needed an escape from home to get work done, this was a favourite spot to home. Crummy, tight limited parking, but a massive building with tons of space to make up for the parking. The open to above(or below) concept reminds me a bit of the Toronto Reference library except much smaller. As others have eluded to, the central«lounge» area is dangerously comfortable, and will totally limit how much work you do, but it’s totally conducive to relaxing with a warm beverage and a good book. If you are like me and are here to work, know that they have plenty of excellent desks and shared working space tables with direct access to power and of course free WiFi throughout the building. Lastly, my experience with the Library café has been limited to a coffee or a tea(and water) here and there and occasionally even a sweet treat. It’s nothing special but good enough to help tide you over so you can squeeze out some extra productivity.

You sure it is a library? The information area has sofas that resemble those in the lobby of a boutique hotel! That high ceiling? The spacious interior space?! Just chilling here in Aurora Library is a great relaxing experience. Then this lady talking on the phone so loud wake me up from my dream… I don’t really want to know about her love life really… Wifi access only offers to library card holders. so out of towners like me are out of luck!

i love my little library. it’s gotten this girl back into reading, even if the things i’m reading are nothing to be proud of. it’s easy to get a card if you live in the area, so sign up and support the local library. i love that the catalogue is all online, so the search you’d do when you get in is all online. so before i even go in, i look it up online and have it put on hold so i don’t even have to do the dirty work of looking it up in the library. it’s all on the hold shelf when i get in, so i’m in and out in seconds. it’s a pretty perfected system. if a book is checked out, i put it on hold and i’ll get an email letting me know that the book is put on hold. so again, i just run in and pick it up and run out again. best part? email notifications when your books are due! hello! can it get any better than that? yeah, it can. if you’re embarrassed about that romance novel you’re checking out and don’t want the librarian to judge you. there are self check outs!!! if i haven’t told you already. i love this library.
