The Spirit Of Christmas

This place has a wonderful selection of ornaments, but it’s a little overpriced. Wish there were some cheaper items. I’d buy more. I got a wooden carved maple leaf with carved moose overlayed in Canadian flag colors. Great store in downtown Banff to browse. Christmas ornaments are good souvenirs.

I used to love going to this shop until recently.
We walked in and were immediately made to feel like shoplifters by one of the workers as she would not stop watching us and our three kids. My one year old grabbed a stuffed toy to hold and I put it away. The lady immediately picked it up and told me it was wet (I guess she drooled on it because of teething). I responded by saying ok… she then told me that there was no way she could sell this now and I would have to buy it. My husband overheard her and said no, we are not buying this. She continued to tell us we had to buy it… we just left the store embarrassed and definitely not EVER going back. If you have young kids be warned!!! We didn’t deliberately ruin the merchandise.

I can’t go to Banff and not visit The Spirit of Christmas. It’s so charming and they carry everything Christmas you could dream of. I have no trouble finding gifts here, and if you shop online during the summer season you can find good deals. I’ll be coming back here as much as I can!

it’s nearly that time again! The Christmas store is amazing, Banff is already so beautiful around Christmas & the Christmas store makes it even more fun!

I love that Banff has a Christmas store. I have never seen one anywhere else and this one is located right on the main street.
It is a huge store as well and every different area is a different theme like white Christmas ect. It is great to wonder around,
It is packed to the brim of amazing Christmas decorations and ornaments.

It’s a big store. Tons of ornaments. Prices are a little high, but it’s Banff.

Love this store! Boyfriend and I have a tradition of buying a Christmas ornament from here every time we are in Banff! There is so much Christmas in this store, it’s wonderful! They have everything sorted by color which is perfect for those of us who have mild OCD. Check this place out while in Banff you won’t regret it. Plus they have a delicious chocolate shop on the lower level of the store. Christmas and chocolate… What more could you ask for?

Each time the hubby and I have been to Banff we stop in this shop to pick up a special ornament to commemorate our trip. It holds a special place in our hearts as we also received a gift of a Christmas train from his mum and dad — purchased when we were there together. It truly has everything you could possibly want. Need a bear and moose tic tac toe board to give to Uncle Ernie for his cabin — check. Bird ornaments for your fowl obsessed mother — got it. Do they have it in chartreuse? But of course.
The staff is helpful and I love that they have complimentary gift wrapping. We purchased over 10 items so we continued shopping on Banff Ave. and returned a few hours later to a stack of perfectly wrapped gifts. I even had a gift wrapped for myself– hey why not?

If you love Christmas, this place is for you. Its Christmas in this store 365 days a year. Decorations, gifts, ornaments, and anything else you could think of relating to Christmas is here. Its kind of trippy to visit in July.

With Christmas around the corner, a friend and I wandered into The Spirit Of Christmas store on Banff Ave just to get a bit of a headstart on the shopping.
One word: Unbelievable.
This place is ABSOLUTELY fantastic. There’s not ONE Christmas thing that they don’t carry, and what’s even more, is that everything they carry is BEAUTIFUL! They have Christmas ornaments that I’ve never ever seen before, they have collector houses made up into mouth-​dropping scenes, they have Halloween collectibles and they even make it a point to play the BEST music for your entire shopping experience! We didn’t stop dancing, we didn’t stop looking, and we sure as heck didn’t stop shopping!
We ended up buying a number of different Christmas ornaments to give as gifts and get this: They personalized EVERY SINGLE ONE for us!!! The girls at the front were SO patient, talented and helpful, and by putting special messages and different names on each of the ornaments, we’re sure that the gifts we give this year will be unlike any other gifts given!
The Spirit Of Christmas store on Banff Ave gets 5 flamin’ red stars, and the only reason they don’t get more is cause there aren’t any more stars to give!
