As we pulled up, my first thought was it’s a big cottage, which really makes it stick out in this box store plaza. I’m happy to see Cabela’s in Canada, as their website has come up in several Google searches I have done over time, but previously the closest location was in Buffalo. The décor is similar to that of what I can only imagine would be their largest competitor, but brighter. The bright lights give an airy, spacious feel. They carry most of the same brands as the competition, but they do have different options of those brands. The particular item I was after wasn’t available in store at a competitor even though they carry items of the same brand. I found the prices competitive, some higher, some lower. The day we came in we were greeted at the front door and handed bags and a list of departments, we were told there’s a Halloween event, the kids go to each dept and say trick or treat and collect candy. I thought this was great to keep the kids occupied, unfortunately mine were too tired and grumpy to participate and only received a few candies. Daddy had a good time in spite of that, I think I could drop a few pay cheques in here lol.
