Just had supper at the new location in Dartmouth crossing. It was good. Food came out fast and the servers were friendly. Great casual dining spot!

Oh my god, the wings. Came here for wing night on a Monday and it was PACKED. There was actually a wait for a table, which really surprised me. Didn’t take too long to get a table and the wings were very, very, very quick to arrive. We’re talking maybe three minutes? I had an order of suicide wings and they didn’t disappoint. The sauce had quite the bite to them, and the wings themselves had this AMAZING smoky taste to them that easily propelled them to the top of my wings list. Best wings in HRM. I had a second order of wings as well because, heck, why not? All you can eat wings for $ 10! I’d totally go back for more. I’ve only had the wings at this location, but I really like how diverse the menu looked and I recall enjoying food at the Woody’s location in Dartmouth Crossing prior to it closing down. Staff was extremely attentive. They must’ve come to our table at least a dozen times, it was very impressive. Go for the wings on wing night. Seriously. If you’re a lover of wings, you will walk away very, very happy.

First time trying Woody’s and circumstances dictated take out rather than dining in. I know packaging and transporting affects quality and I took that into account. We ordered the family feast for two, and honestly, the quantities would have fed four. The order included St. Louis style ribs, BBQ pork and chicken, cornbread, BBQ beans, and coleslaw. We ordered southern style rice and fried corn on the cob as additional sides at no extra cost. The meats were delicious, although the ribs were not as «saucy» as I like them, next time I’ll try the baby back style. I usually only ever eat my mom’s beans, but I will definitely have Woody’s again. Sweet, with a BBQ flavour and bits of meat in them. The rice is a bit spicy, but not overly so. Now, the fried corn… it sounded strange which is why we ordered it. I’m going to ask them exactly how they do it, it’s amazing!!! My only complaint, and it’s minor, we felt there should have been more cornbread rather than just the two pieces. There will definitely be a next time at Woody’s.

Have attended a few wing nights with Rocky providing the best service, others should learn from him. The wings are amazing and should not be missed, served very hot with great sauce.

There’s a lot of things I like about this place. The wings are delicious and served up piping hot, the beers cold, the ribs look and smell amazing, and the sides are to die for. I went for the $ 10 all you can eat wing night, and being a tiny place, it was packed, with nary a seat in sight. So ended up sitting at the bar, which was just fine as well(if we had been more than 2 people eating, I could see that being a problem though). Oddly, they only had one server for the majority of the time I was there, and so things like getting the menus, getting drinks, getting orders etc, took quite a long time. Once the chicken wing orders went in, though, they were out within 10 minutes. Still hot enough to burn your fingers(the best). There were a variety of sauces available… my favorite being the tangy mustard dip. had a nice zing to it. Once a second waiter showed up, things started flowing much sooner, and our pop glasses were barely a quarter full when they were whisked away and refilled… a service I really like in an eating/drinking establishment. The bartender was a friendly bloke, making small talk and being generally Nova Scotian(whether he was or wasn’t). From what I hear, the place has been getting packed to the brim like that more and more regularly. I would imagine that the restaurant owners would have to think about expanding pretty soon, so that it doesn’t become one of «those» places which you start avoiding because you can’t get a seat. Which is all a way of saying«I think this place is going to be very successful»

I very much enjoyed the dinner at Woody’s at Peak view Way. We ordered the Baby Back Ribs and they were tender, moist and we also tried a sample of the wings which were equally good. Our server, Cate, was wonderful and she was very friendly, prompt and helpful. We will definitely be back for great food and reasonable prices.

I found the food at the Dartmouth Crossing location so meh I haven’t been back since they opened in 2012. However, I do love my chicken wings and decided to give this new location a try after I heard they had recently started an all you can eat wing night on Mondays. I called early in the day on a Monday since I was trying to organize a crew to go and wanted the 411 so we prepared. The person I spoke with said some wing nights can be busier than others and that they have run out by 7:30 or 8. I called right before we left(nah I am not OCD.) at 9pm and another friendly server offered to double check the stock with the kitchen so we wouldn’t be disappointed. We were told the kitchen was well supplied with wings. We were seated promptly by a friendly server. The décor was nothing special but adequate enough… I mean I was going there to devour all you can eat wings how good does it have to be? The only suggested I’d have is to dim the lights a bit; we found it kinda bright. On to the wings: they are a lot different than wings at most places; our server informed us they are covered in steak spice and brown sugar and smoked for two hours before being deep fried. They are not battered. You can get them naked and dress them with sauce at the table or covered in honey garlic or varying heat levels of traditional wing sauce. I was happy that you got to customize your order and there was no grumbling. First thing I noticed was the size which was a plus. They are meaty and quite big. I tried a naked batch to start and then the hot-sauced variety. You order in batches of a pound. I am not quite the wing eater I was in university so started to slow down on my second batch. The other thing is the smoke taste slowly builds and when you are downing copious quantities it starts to overpower your tastebuds. I normally don’t think honey garlic and wings should be in same sentence but my mouth was so full of smoke flavour I needed a different flavour to try to get rid of it. I am a fan of smoked food and don’t think this should detract from the rating; when considered on its own it is quite nice… maybe not so nice when you eat three pounds of it. All in all a great deal for $ 10 for the wings drink purchase required. I am a die hard breaded wing fan and Woody’s didn’t convert me. Still I would go back for the wings again. I got a pop and was happy to find out refills are free. I will make it a point to try something else on their menu.

I know I was hard on Woody’s during my last visit, so I was hoping that this second location would be a better experience, especially as it’s five minutes from my apartment. They have karaōke here every Saturday night, and it turns out that my man’s mother’s boyfriend hosts every couple of weeks. We joined the crew here for her birthday and had a grand time. I wasn’t feeling too hungry at the time, so we shared a basket of their onion rings. I have to say, they were actually some of the better rings I’ve had in quite a while. The onions are thick and sweet. You can actually taste them and not just oily batter, like a lot of onion rings seem to be these days. The karaōke was excellent, of course. Both Freigh and I took to the stage for songs, per the request of the birthday gal. They might have been recorded. They better not have been recorded. I look forward to visiting again!

Stopped in here for a post valentines dinner before heading to go see a movie. I had heard nothing but great things about Woody’s other location, so I figured i would give it a whirl. This spot does not have much in the way of seating. I would say maybe enough for 40 plus a few spots at the bar. We lucked out that it was not very busy. Service was prompt and friendly. Our server made a few suggestions and even double checked on the quality of the turkey for that day(apparently it can sometimes be a bit dry and they dont suggest having it on a sandwich when its in that condition). On to the food! For starters, we decided to try the deep fried pickles. Yes, deep… fried…pickles. They came to us roasting hot and fresh, and they were deeeeeelicious! For my meal, I chose the brisket sandwich with fries and mac and cheese for sides. The brisket was melt in your mouth good. I was chewing, but im pretty sure i didnt really need to. The fries were made in house and fantastic. The mac and cheese was just phenomenal. Our server informed me that when she ate there, she gets two sides of mac because its just that good. Price wise, it is a good deal for the quality of food and service. I will be returning here, probably a lot more than i should. Good job Woody’s!

A group of us from work(4 adults) went to this location for their wing night special(all you can eat for $ 10). We all had a great time: –The service was fast and friendly. –The wings were great. –The price was right. The atmosphere was family friendly in the restaurant and the wait staff were great with the two children we had with us in our group. The children’s menu items were filling and a good overall value. The wing night offer has to be the best in town as where else are you going to find this price for great wings($ 10 all you can eat). Woody’s has lots of sauces which provide a nice variations on the traditional wing options found at other establishments(they have the standard mild, medium and hot as well). The wings are smoked which is really nice, however the smoked flavour of the wings builds up and becomes the dominant flavour in your mouth after a certain point(for me that was after approx 35 wings). Not that this is a bad thing as it may prevent some folks from over-indulging. Overall this was a great experience and I encourage all to try it.
