Parkside Pub & Grill

Holy shit. The BBQ at this place is amazing! I’m surprised I knew about this place but not the BBQ. So amazing. It’s smokey goodness. We got the BBQ combo. Chicken wings, tender smokey amazing. Beef brisket, fall apart goodness. Pull pork, fatty deliciousness. I had the fish burger which was kinda meh. Beer was super fresh. GO HERE FOR GREAT BBQ!

This is going to be two reviews in one…
Part 1;
We went to The Parkside for their Wednesday wing night (they do it on Wednesdays and Thursdays!) apart from the one older gentleman sitting at the bar, and the staff, we were the only people there. Our always friendly server, I sadly forget her name, told us we’d be getting the best service ever, and we did!
Although it’s not difficult to provide outstanding service to your one and only table — she’s provided us with equally as awesome service during past visits.
I understand why The Parkside wasn’t busy, especially for a wing night (and a Wednesday) but if you’ve never had their wings, it is definitely worth checking out. They’re a decent size, more on the large side, lightly battered and sauced perfectly! I’ve always ordered ‘medium’ with ranch to dip, so good! I’m not generally a honey garlic fan, but theirs, I like!
For 60 cents a wing, with beverage purchase, on Wednesday and Thursday night you change up your wing night and come visit the Parkside!
This review would have gotten 4 – 5 stars, easily!
Part 2;
I saved the worst for last. Living in the area, and wanting to mix-​up our take out choices, we ordered from The Parkside.
We both wanted a burger, I ordered the hamburger and he ordered the chicken burger. There were plenty of side options you can add from fries to onion rings, mac&cheese, chilli, potato salad, fried mushrooms etc. for $ 2.50 each. The burger prices ranged from $ 4-​$ 7.
We placed our order and they said it would be ready in 15 minutes, awesome! When I got there, and was given the bill — the prices were doubled! We were charged $ 13.95 and $ 15.95 for each burger plus the $ 2.50 for each of our sides! I was completely shocked and mentioned this to the male bartender. He told me that the takeout menu I have hasn’t been in circulation for a while, those prices weren’t valid. My partner then took over and spoke with the manager who pointed out the prices we saw are correct and the bartender/​wait staff were apparently not familiar with the take-​out menu. He said he’ll have to make sure people specify they’re ordering from that menu when they call… if they’re calling to order take out, that’s kind of common sense, right? Anyway, we got refunded, and the manger was very nice about the situation.
My mac&cheese was lukewarm (mostly because it took us so long to get home) but, it was also pretty bland. It needed some sort of kick to it, salt and pepper did very little to help. The burger was decent enough, but not worth $ 16! Especially since these meals did NOT come with fries! The potato salad my partner got with his chicken burger was warm, which he thought was weird, for potato salad (I didn’t try it) I did try his chicken burger, and it was just okay. We were both semi-​satisfied with our meals.

Overall — We will not be ordering takeout from here again, but, we’ll be back for the wings quite often!
