Shaved ice as big as your head! NO JOKE! They offer Hawaiian style shaved ice… which apparently means freakin’ delicious head-​sized ice clouds. It’s like biting into an angel’s wing, which I imagine to taste soft and fluffy. The sizes start at «wee size» and go all the way up to «large». A wee size is the size of a prepubescent teen’s head so me and 2 friends were able to share one AND still have leftovers. For $ 2.75 it almost feels like robbery.
With your shaved ice, you get to choose 3 flavours. They have a huge list to choose from so go wild! We had the creamsicle, pink lemonade and peach. All excellent choices. And when they pour the flavours on your ice, they’re separated like neapolitan ice cream so you get to taste each one by themselves or be rebellious and mix them together. Unlike a snow cone, there’s flavour in every bite!!! On a hot day, be prepared to shove your face into one of these because they make great thirst quenchers. Or you can even just hold one as an accessory since all the colours make them the ultimate eye candy. We sat near the trailer and people kept walking by wanting one too. Great conversation starter… or not… because once you dig your spoon in, it’s game over!!! Just BATHE IN IT!!!
They also have other non-​shaved ice items like ice cream, smoothies and tea. The teas had really cute names like, «I’m so sad tea». I also tried the coconut bliss bar — it’s an ice cream bar made of coconut milk (aka dairy free). SO YUMMERS! If you like coconut, you’ll love this bar. It has bits of coconut flakes in it too.
Not sure about the hours or if it’s open year-​round, but if you get a chance to visit Bowen Island, then mosey on over to this wonderful space trailer! Super cute! It’s a short walk from the ferry terminal, maybe 3 – 5 minutes, depending on the length of your legs. Just follow Bowen Island Trunk Road and you won’t be able to miss it. And if you do, shed a tear because you missed out on something good.
