Great little gem right off the ferry in snug cove. The service was excellent, food came quickly and it was of high quality. Cobb salad was delicious and so was the French onion soup. Will have to try this again for dinner next time I’m on the island or maybe I’ll just go back tonight!

Amazing, friendly service and delicious food. We shared the garlic spinach artichoke dip to start which was the best I’ve ever had – very spinachy! The super green crêpe was delicious with added mushrooms, and a bite of the chocolate ganache cake topped off the meal well! A pleasant atmosphere.

A memorable spot on a cute eccentric island. The best service and food. I highly recommend their Goat Cheese Salad. Pictures don’t their creations justice. I loved their French onion soup too. Also, I was too hungry to take a picture, maybe next time lol

5 star place! Frankly, when I was going to the island I was hungry and was afraid of my choice to be limited but this small place is true french restaurant! Owned and run by real french. Thank you! Amazing food! PS they dont accept credit, so cash and debit only.

I would give this restaurant 5 stars if they took credit cards. Any credit card. We took our friends for dinner and the food was delicious. We started with a pâté and an artichoke dip. The dip for the bread had a little too much garlic but it was very good. Three of us had the Lamb shank which was delicious and with it came a very ample portion of mashed potatoes with fresh green beans and a sweet carrot. My husband enjoyed the ribs but they came with french fries and he would have preferred the mashed potatoes. We didn’t know what the sides were for the dishes or we would have requested that change. We also enjoyed sharing a couple of gluten free chocolate ganache cake. We were surprised at the end of the meal that they would not take our credit cards but luckly we had the cash to cover the meal and drinks. Cheers.

This lovely restaurant is a MUSTGO in Bowen Island! We got a seat in a very cozy patio surrounded with nice and happy people enjoying the sun and the food. :) The staff, of course, could not be different: very friendly and attentive. When the waitress gave us the menu, OMG! so many good options! My husband tried a waffle benny with smoked salmon and he really liked it. I had a very Cocotte crêpe that comes with chicken and Brie cheese. I got the nutella crêpe with banana as dessert and I thought it could come with more Nutella. I was a bit disappointed, but the crêpe was still tasty. The other dessert I tried was«sea salt pop». For me, It is a weird mixture adding pop in a cup of ice cream, but the final result actually tastes really good! I am happy I found a great option to eat in Bowen because I love going to that Island to enjoy the beach on weekends.

On a gorgeous Sunday afternoon, a friend and I took the ferry to lovely Bowen Island to have brunch at Rustique. The restaurant is very nice with a great patio area. The service was fine although the server forgot the drink my friend had ordered. I had the benny’s with sausage on a waffle and my friend had the chicken cordon bleu baguette. Both meals were ok but that’s all. The hollandaise sauce was very light(too light?) in both taste and amount and I had to ask for more. The salad was good. The potatoes were fine. My friend’s sandwich was overwhelmed by the mustard they used and the bread was a little too hard/dry. The fries were good. So overall, the experience was ok. Bowen is, as always, absolutely beautiful.

Rustique is a memorable gem recommended by locals. It’s French-family owned, small, romantic restaurant offering French fare. To start, we had baked brie with sun dried tomatoes in phyllo pastry, which was delicious. We had two entrees, grilled halibut with risotto, and a house smoked brisket with a delicious jus. The halibut was executed very well, and the brisket melted in the mouth yet retained wonderful flavor. Thankfully the espresso after dinner was also delicious — it was a nice change not to be disappointed by the coffee! Our server was attentive and as a local indulged us with some insight into the dishes, restaurant, and island. It was a memorable experience, we loved it and would go back.

A wonderful little French restaurant with a lot of heart! It is very close to the ferry station, so we stopped by to kill time. A lovely lady with a French accent took good care of us. We sat on the sunny terrace under the shade of a parasol. The menu had so many enticing items(especially the daily menu) that it was hard for us to choose. Finally we had soup, crepes and mussels, everything was nice.

We happened upon the Rustique while exploring Bowen Island. We stopped for a bowl of soup and were enticed by the food and the service to order lunch. The carrot turmeric soup was hearty and flavorful with truffle oil and wonderful chewy home made bread. This coupled with a glass of Pinot Grigio and a Guinness should have been enough. However we followed this up with a Coccotee Anshan and cheese crêpe. The chicke in the Coccotee was real chicken and packed with flavour. It was woven into a Brie benchmark sayce which was divine. I would recommend this resturant to all as an exquisite French bistro that replicates the best in France. The young man who looked after us was wonderfully attentive and gave us great tips on what to see.

Just had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Rustique Bistro. As usual, Thierry et al were fabulous. Our server Noemie was efficient, personable, knowledgeable and helped to make our special day even better. The owner and chef, Thierry stopped by a couple of times to chat(it’s his birthday today!) which is always nice. The food was wonderful ~ especially memorable was the warm brie with Michelle Taylor’s home-made jelly served with toasty slices of baguette… oh my! I’m so happy to have this comfortable and inviting spot right here on Bowen.
