I bought my Canon t3 from this particular Black’s and while it goes without saying that all Black’s Photography stores stay consistent with pricing this is a large store and has a good collection of cameras for point and shoots and also a large number of accessories, it’s 3 stars however because I felt a little rushed in their customer service especially when it came time to check out. I do admit that buying a dslr and a point and shoot plus accessories would be a little complicated. Black’s offers a bundled package for a $ 100 or $ 120 that include a(below average in my opinion) case, just 4gb card, 25 or 100 free prints and an extended warranty. I opted out for this as the warranty only covered software malfunctions and I could have got a better case on sale for $ 20 and an 8gb card for around $ 25 and I don’t really need free prints(I get 25 anyway). When I tried to find out more about the warranty and looked for a chance to see if it would be worth it, the staff member just said she always cares about the security for her own devices. While I obviously feel the same on a large purchase such as this, I feel like she could have been more persuasive if she wanted me to get it, or given a more genuine vibe about how important the warranty is. I’ve had people at best buy and apple stores tell me that sometimes the extra warranty is not worth it, somehow don’t think that’s in the Black’s vocabulary. However this is not to say that service was not friendly, the staff at Black’s at 2 or 3 locations I visited while doing my camera buying research have always been frank and honest with me, with one man in this particular store actually giving me some very honest advice on which camera to choose from(which ended up saving me at least $ 150). And Black’s in general have very competitive pricing and their 30day money match guarantee helped me out in getting $ 56 back when my camera went on sale a couple of weeks after I purchased it. If you want a good discussion about camera’s and photography I would suggest checking out a Black’s or an Aden store(downtown) and not a Bestbuy or Futureshop where they are lacking in dishing out proper advice.
