I went here for Thursday Steak special before going on to the Sanderson Center for a play. Atmosphere– This is a very small bar with limited seating. they do not take reservations so be sure to go early. it filled quickly on our visit. Standard wooden type bar with a few stark tables. all the people except for us knew each other. Neighbourhood bar with a following that serves up a limited menu. I would like to note that the temperature was cold and it appeared tat everyone kept their coats on for the whole meal. When we mentioned this to the waitress she just said. «Yes, this place is always cold» Food– We came for the steak special(every Thursday night) For $ 10.95 you get a large rib eye steak with choice of potato and a side salad. My vegetarian friend asked about her options and was pleased to hear the cook will create something for her. She ordered a stir fry with rice and a cram of vegetable soup. The steak was very nicely seasoned but my medium ordered was along the lines of well done. My husbands medium –rare was definitely rare. I used ketchup for the dryness. Only one steak was cooked to order. I will say it was still worth ten bucks because of the seasoning. The salads(greek and caesar) were fresh and dressing good. Everyone loved the potatoes, especially the baked ones.(they did not bring butter or sour cream(I guess for $ 10 what do you expect?) When asked for it we received it without extra charge. My Fries and mashed were also good. The report on the soup was it was delicious with lots of large pieces of vegetables in a lovely cream broth. the stir fry was tasty but would have been better with tofu or something but it was nice, and the rice was moist and nice. She was give both dishes at the same time so after eating her soup her main dish was on the cool side. Service– Our waitress was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. We received our dishes after a reasonable wait and everything was warm on arrival.(Too bad the stir fry wasn’t brought out a little later) Impression– I thought the meal was ok in general but excellent for the price they are charging. I would not personally go back for the steak but I would go back for something else on the menu.

Beer selection is by far the best in town. The food is really delicious and reasonably priced as well. Small space, but the atmosphere is inviting. The burgers are out of this world! A must try is the sausage roll too. A lot of careful thought has gone into a really nice pub menu.
