Bow Bow Cafe

I’ve heard good reviews from several friends about this place and have since wanted to try it out! This restaurant’s operation hours seems to be varying as we have tried to come in a few times during its stated business hours but it was not opened.
So today is our lucky day!!!
We have already eaten our lunch already but we finally saw this restaurant opened so we only ordered one lunch set to share. We ordered the marinated chicken legs with rice, pickled vegetable, and a sunny side up egg. It also comes with egg custard as a desert and a cup of hot black tea.
The rice has some marinated pork sauce on top and is so tasty! Probably one of the best marinated pork sauce with rice that we tried! The set came with three marinated chicken legs and it tasted pretty good but a bit on the dry side. The egg custard and the hot black tea is just simply amazing!!! We love it so much! I think the portion of the set is quite generous as we were able to share but then maybe we were also already a bit full. The bill is already calculated with 10 percent tips included. The set came up to be about 20 dollars which I think is reasonable.
Will definitely come back to check out their famous noodle dishes next time!

I went there for there Pork Hock Noodles in Beef soup!
Omg their pork hock are the best i ever bad in Vancouver! It’s so juicy, soft and chewy. The soup was rich but not overly salty.
My sister orders a tomato meat sauce on noodles — which taste like meat sauce spaghettei but its with taiwanese noodles, pretty creative! Taste good too!
Would definitly good back!
And as a reminder, their bill have already included a 10% service charge as well as the tax, its also said on their menu too!

It was my first time to try this Taiwanese restaurant. It is limited space that tables and chairs occupy most of the space. It has limited space to walk. Not quite comfortable though.
Two servers and two chefs worked at this restaurant. The servers were older people. Their service was okay but I felt a bit rude. When I sat down, I had not even looked at the menu yet. One of the two servers asked what I wanted to eat. She didn’t even give me time to look at the menu. Then she gave me a little bit of time and walked away. After a minute, I had not even made up my mind and she came back and asked what I wanted to order. My friend just said I should order the braised pork with noodles and lettuce. I trusted her as she had lunch here before. After I ordered, the server grabbed the menu right away. I was looking at the drinks menu, so she didn’t take it away. But after a minute, she asked if I would order drinks. I said later and then she grabbed the drinks menu immediately and gave it to other customers at another table.
The braised pork with noodles and lettuce was just okay. The texture of the noodles was actually good but the pork was too chewy that it should be braised or cooked longer. The soup base had way too much sesame oil, so my lips or mouth were always full of oil. LOL I had to use napkins to wipe my mouth very often. My friend said her Chinese dumplings with noodles was okay. I didn’t try it, but by looking at her dish, it was not bad.
When we paid the bill, we had to pay extra attention! The restaurant had added 10% tip to the bill already. If some customers did not pay attention, they would have added 10% tip to the bill, but indeed the restaurant added the tip to the bill already.
Their prices were not cheap comparing other Taiwanese restaurants. There are other good Taiwanese restaurants in Lower Mainland. I wouldn’t want to come back to eat here again. Sorry.

Very limited tables and standard food, but quint and unique atmosphere.

It locates on kingsway, right opposite the superstore in metrotown. They only opens at lunch hours (till 3pm) and dinner hours. It is a bit small inside with limited tables, but the ambience is great and the place is clean and classy. I loveee their food and drinks. Always in high quality, oh so delicious!
