Solid 4 stars. Cozy resto that’s a lot nicer than Thai Café, a few blocks east. Ordered the mussaman curry, though not as flavourful as Benjarong Thai’s, still good and came with full-size peanuts as per pic. Lots of chicken too for this portion size. Impressive. For this lunch deal, it’s a steal. And for once, when you want hot, you got it!!! Not western-style, a real kick! Great service. Easy repeat.

This place has got a decent lunch special. It includes a great tasting vegetable soup and three wontons which are crispy. I ordered L1 and it was pretty good. Not exactly like how it tastes in Bangkok but close enough in Vancouver. The lady said she cant get all the ingredients like they do in Bangkok so it is understandable. She also asked me how spicy I like it and she customized my order. I would return to try their other dishes. She was really nice and offered me a free pen for Christmas. I would recommend this place.

This is hands down my favourite Thai restaurant. Coconut rice and veggie spring rolls are my common order but the pad thai is also really delicious! The service is great and they make sure you’re comfortable. I remember my first time there, the waitress helped me with the menu with a smile. They also have filling lunch combos! Really worth the try, you might just become a regular.

Food is very good. Freebie fried wonton or spring roll while you wait… very tasty! Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

I always go to Thai Café down the next block but I came to Chad Thai to try something new. The service was… not bad but just super amazingly slow. I know the ladies who work there are very sweet, but the service was just so slow that I was beginning to get a little irritated. It took us about 5 minutes to sit down, another 15 to get the menu, etc. we were in there for about an hour before we got the food and they weren’t even that busy? As soon as we go the food though everything was A-OK because it was pretty good. I got tom yum soup for the first time and i LOVED it! We also got a curry with fish(I think it was Bass?) and it was delicious. It literally melted in my mouth and it’s all I’m getting when I’m here now. I didn’t like it as much as Thai Café, I think I prefer the service there a bit better. But, I’ll come back here for the fish + curry heh

Good Thai and decent lunch prices for the quality. A nice find for the Burnaby Heights area. All dishes looked fresh and high quality, flavours were good and they were open to making adjustments for picky eaters. I’d go back for sure. I went for medium spice but probably could have gone hotter. My co-worker did the Pad Thai as hot,. and said it was hot and he is from a place where spices are commonplace so I’m not sure how to play that one!

Chad Thai is a little restaurant on Hasting Street in Burnaby. Although there is no parking at the restaurant, it is easy to find parking on the streets in the neighbourhood. The owner and waiters were very friendly when my parents and I went there for lunch. Who served my table was probably the owner? She was super friendly and told us what were the most popular dishes advising which dishes we should be trying. During the meal, she dropped by my table asking if everything was good at least a few times. She gave us a tray of four different types of spicy sauces and seasonings. My parents and I ordered three lunch combos. Each combo came with a small bowl of daikon soup and three small friend dumplings. The soup and fried dumplings were okay but not the best. We ordered 1) Pad Thai Goong with prawn, 2) Pad Siew and 3) Khao Moo Kratiem Kai Dao. The portion of each of these three dishes were kind of small but all of them tasted delicious. Only the stir fried pork of the third dish was greasy with a lot of oil on the plate. After we left the restaurant, we started to feel thirsty. Probably the Thai food got a lot of seasonings, soy sauce and MSG. We had to drink a lot of water after lunch. I would recommend others to try this restaurant if they are around the neighbourhood. But be expected that it is really thirsty after the meal.

We went there on Tuesday night so the place was quite. The waitresses were very nice, and welcoming. The menu covers everything you could expect from Thai food. I am not an expert in Thai food so I ordered noodles with chicken and it was very average, not very tasty and greasy. The entrée was good although it arrived after the main meal. The service wasn’t long. A very average restaurant that will do if you are craving Thai in the middle of the street otherwise I’m sure you can find way better.

What a pleasant surprise. From the exterior, I was expecting a bare bones place with a few tables but it’s much larger and nicely decorated. The service was very good and the waiter was nice and patient, answering all of our questions. The Tom Yum Goon soup was spectacular, spicy and sweet with very nice flavours. The beef fried rice was tasty and the chicken satte was plump and juicy with a nice peanut sauce. The chicken green curry was delicate and so nice. They had a very nice chai iced tea too. This is a real gem and is a real step above places like Thai House.

3.5+0.5 service #5 Chicken Wings(crispy fried chicken wings marinated in spices and garlic) $ 7.994⁄5 — very juicy and well marinated! It wasn’t as garlic as the green papapa salad. #10 Chicken Satay 4pcs $ 7.993.5÷5 — well marinated but dry chicken breasts. The skewers were quite thick. #23 tom kha gai(with coconut milk) $ 8.992.5÷5 — one of the most watery coconut soup I’ve ever had. Flavour was good but it needs to be a lot thicker. #30 so tum(green papaya salad) $ 8.992⁄5 — super garlicy! I didn’t expect it to be that. It says nothing about garlic in the menu. L2 Khao Gaeng(Panang Curry Beef with Rice) $ 8.993.5÷5 — not too thick nor spicy. It could go a little spicier too when I asked for mild. Less beef than expected. There were a lot of peppers. –It comes with 4 pieces of wontons(mainly just deep-fried wonton skins) and a bowl of rice. The rice was pretty soft. rice cracker $ 3 — They sell some snacks by the cashier. They were pretty good with a hint of sweetness. Service — I called at 11:20am asking for take out. The man told me it will be ready at 11:45 because they are opened for lunch at 11:30. This was a little awkward and there were nobody when I got there.

Friendly server. The 2 small prawns were very dull. Entire dish very ordinary, with super al dente broccoli. Too boring for me. 2013 is a long time ago, when they won the City of Burnaby’s Best Thai. I should have know, there were hardly any people in it. I’m taking a break from my Yen Ta Fo. Tofu deep fried in old oil — oh goody. I received a Unilocal email for this place and rushed right out to Burnaby, my neighbouring city to experience it… oops…fish balls and calamari in the soup dish good + one black hair. I don’t have that colour. $ 2 for green tea. I may head a a block over to the next 4.5 star Thai to see if it makes any difference.

It doesn’t look like much from the outside but this place is seriously amazing! Everything was fresh, flavourful, and tasted just like how food did in Thailand. They do not use msg and service was outstanding. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again as this is the best thai food I’ve had in Vancouver.

Thai Food is emerging as one of my favourite types of cuisine. I love the many distinct flavours that come with Thai cooking. It’s fitting that Chad Thai seemed to have that type of homestyle flavour, as well as my name being Chad(hehehe…). Apparently Chad means«taste» in Thai, by the way. We came in at the start of dinner service on a Friday afternoon. It was quiet at first, but then the restaurant started to get busy. We ordered the Panang Curry, the seafood Tom Yum soup, Pad Thai tofu, and the coconut rice. First off, the seafood Tom Yum soup. Im not really a fan of seafood in general, but I thought this soup was very good. The spicyness was satisfying and you could taste the many flavours of sweet, sour, and salty within it. The portion was a little small but the taste makes up for it. The Pad Thai was also amazing. It had a smooth texture with a little grittyness contributed by the peanuts. The spice added a bit of a kick. Overall, it was a delight to my tastebuds. I combined it with the Panang Curry, which I personally thought was the best dish we ordered. The portion was very impressive! It had chicken, green peppers, and red peppers, as well as a bit of chili. It was HOT, but was still under my range of tolerance(just right). Mixing the curry with the Pad Thai and the coconut rice sent me to Thai food heaven. At the end of my meal, I was greeted by the kind lady at the front who gave us free pens for our first time eating at Chad Thai. Thank you Chad Thai for the excellent food and excellent service with a smile. I will DEFINITELY be coming back for more food. And i will bring more friends!

This place is nothing if not a little gem. Mr. J and I were very pleased to try this place and the reviews are in no way falsely representing it. The restaurant is one of those«little hole in the wall» places, but far from being a dive, this place is clean, well decorated, and serviced by some of the nicest employees I’ve ever experienced while eating Thai food. They were attentive, but not overly so, and extremely cheerful and polite. We ordered the Garden appy(7), the pork grill order(11) and green curry with chicken(40), The appy came before the food, and it was awesome. Some of the best satay I’ve had in years, and Mr. j makes a mean satay. The pork was hot, flavorful, and fully cooked. The sauce that came with it(no idea what kind) was sweet and paired with it perfectly. The green curry was delicious, just spicy enough to give it a kick, and full of eggplant, which I did not expect, and which surprisingly tasted awesome. the portion sizes were perfect for the price, and were reasonable(not overly large) enough to make me feel like the quality of the ingredients was pretty good. I saw at least 4 people grab takeout while we were dinning in, and I think I would like to try takeout next. All in all, for Thai food, I give this place 5 stars.

came here for a work lunch and was pleasantly surprised. It’s nothing fancy one of those«hole in the wall» types of places. Everything is clean though(cutlery, tables, chairs etc.) We ordered the deep friend prawn appy and I ordered the chicken Pad Siew. Pretty good — not too soggy and wasn’t soaked in MSG or salt like most asian restaurants. For a tiny little restaurant I think it’s pretty good. Serving size was fair as well. I was under the impression that if a menu item has an «S» beside it they would ask for spicy preference — I completely forgot to mention it and the server didn’t ask so i was kind of disappointed that my dish wasn’t spicy at all.
