I always enjoy spending time wandering around and finding something I have not read before, also hunting the Buddah LOL You never know where he will be

I always get excited when I see a book store still in town. It is like finding a unicorn in a forrest. There is some moveable space, lots of selection. Condition of books are hit and miss, however, fairly priced in accordance with. I have gotten some cook books from here, specifically from the Company’s Coming series. Great customer service. If you see a cat roaming around. Don’t worry that is just one of the cutest employees in the store. She is the friendliest cat. If you ask her nicely she may help you find a book or two. I don’t know the cat’s name but I just call her Pickles after my favorite fictional cat character.

Love this book store! Good selection of used and new books. The cat, who resides at the shop, is one of the friendliest cats I have ever met!

Good selection and clean. Unlike most used bookstores it doesn’t have the musty smell of book going moldy on the shelf. Excellent mix of new and used books in excellent condition.

«Somewhere inside books is a giant golden castle — Some ancient Chinese saying» Walking into bookstores is always such an exhilarating thing. Remember the times when you were a child and walked into your elementary school library for the first time. I had that exact same feeling stepping into this book store. They have quite a few book shelves that go line in line and lead you deeper into this library-esk store. Each isle is a different world filled with a variety of genres for your mind to get lost in… and I definitely got lost in quite a few books. The wonders of book stores such as these is that it never feels pushy to force you into buying the next new book, but eases you into truly finding something for yourself and something you would enjoy. It doesn’t matter if this book is recent or aged; new or used; the joys of self exploration feels great. What made this experience even better was that they had the CUTEST fat cat I’ve seen. The bookstore is a 4 star rating in my experience, and the fifth star is specially for Mr. Bookstore-Kitty-Cat!

I always get suckered by the bargain bin out front. There’s always something interesting for very little money. When you walk in, this place is very well organized. The cat is very cute and the prices are very reasonable. They have also started selling new books too! It’s a great little place to shop in if you are on the Heights, and they do open a little later than all the other stores in the neighborhood.

Has quickly become my favorite used bookstore in Vancouver, mostly because if the staff(helpful without being intrusive) and the selection(huge! With lots of out-of-print rarities I’ve yet to find elsewhere so easily.) perhaps the folks who sell their books her mimic my own reading preferences(non-fiction sciences with a decidedly fictional bent) or maybe it’s that I lose time here. Regardless, I highly recommend a visit, if only to say hello to the very happy, sleepy resident kitty.

this is one of my most favourite used book stores… cuz they have such a wide selection of topics — particularly in the healing natural themes… and a warm, friendly atmosphere to hang out in… love this place!!!

Have I ever mentioned how much I love book stores. And have I ever mentioned that I have a theory that all good bookstores have a cat? Have I ever mentioned that I repeat myself? Well organised. Informative staff. Constantly moving stock. It’s the kind of place you will always find something or things good. And they have a cat.

Firstly, and most importantly, they have a cat.(I am of the firm opinion that no good bookstore is without a cat.) And not just any cat. A large, friendly, fluffy cat, often found lounging near the till where it will inspect all of your purchases and trade-ins. The selection is great, the prices reasonable, and the books are stored in a neat and in well-ordered fashion. I would give them 5 stars, except that, in the grand tradition of surly, introverted book sellers everywhere, they never seem happy to see you.(Perhaps having customers simply impedes peaceful stretches of book reading?)

I agree with Cameron that Companion Book could have used some help in the naming department. However, in all other aspects, it rivals Pulpfiction for selection and organization of used books — plus, the store kitty is one adorable monster. Though I normally find it hard to pass up a bookshop without going in, this one suckered me in with a sidewalk bargain table stocked with 4-for-$ 1 vintage teen romance novels like Sweet Valley High, Silhouette, Sweet Dreams and even the super-cheesy Caitlin series. Serious impulse control was required not to grab them all. I think I have a crush. The clerk at the counter sweetly let me swap out a couple of titles in the pack because I already had them. As a bonus, I was also able to find a copy of Little House in the Big Woods that matched the Little House set I bought awhile back at Brown’s that was missing the first book. Thank you Companion Book, for the books of my childhood. You’re my new bestest best friend.
