the restaurant parking is a challenge in the neighbourhood. I believe my friend and I wasted at least 15 minutes trying locate suitable parking spot for our lunch. Not sure it is intentional, the menu font is very small as I had hard time reading it. Even cost of the item also difficult to figure out. Now that we both lost 15 minutes of our lunch time finding parking, we have decided to make quick lunch on a working day. It was fully packed and very noisy. Inside is has more dark interior or gothic look. I like the open kitchen concept too. Since we are running out time, we both decided to order something not fancy and quick to make and deliver to the table. Our server was quite good and she has helped us to select food for the lunch. So, I end up ordering chicken burger. The real chicken breast was quite thin and this is the first time I have seen that thin burger meat patty. It was well done and quite tasty. They provide bottom less glass of pop.

Since this location is fairly close to where I live, and I was given a gift card once, I’ve been there 3 times. I don’t plan on going back. Food: Are the patties so frozen and dull that the chefs feel compelled to drench the burgers in half a pound of salt? My girlfriend couldn’t finish her burger, and even a salt-fiend such as myself found it gross. The fries are now small and thin as Earl’s seems fit to mimic McDonalds. If I want thin, salty fries, I’ll go there. Service: What killed this location for us is the service. The last time we went, we had the worst waitress we’ve ever had the misfortune of ‘serving’ us. After waiting 15 minutes to even order our drinks, we started to walk out and told the shift manager as such. We were convinced to stay(and we were starving) on the promise the service would get better. We also saw a family at another table walk out after being ignored. The service didn’t get much better, and this was the first time I’ve ever not given a tip. If you don’t already know, Earl’s waitresses are hired purely on looks and nothing else. Earl’s is great for eye candy, but this particular location doesn’t seem to realize that SERVICE is important. Each time we’ve been here, the service has been below par. Value: Average food with above-average prices. Ambiance: Lively, a good lounge section with lots of TVs, and cool décor. For a night out with a date, however, it can be too loud. It’s best to go to Earl’s with a group of friends or co-workers. That said, go to a different Earl’s location. This one is consistently poor. (I’ve had good experiences at other Earl’s, it’s just this location that seems to be terrible)

At 4PM, We called and made a reservation for 3 people at 6:00PM. It turned out that they thought we were 6 people coming in at 3PM(which didn’t make sense because we called at 4PM). 1) The restaurant was only about 30% full. We waited for half an hour at our table in the dining area, with no server, no water, just staring around.(Minus 2 points) 2) Finally, our server Louisa came by. Took our drink orders. Came back without the drinks and asked for our main course orders. 3) After 10 minutes, came back to ask me what we want for our main courses again.(Minus 1 point) 4) Soups and entrees came out at the same time, for TWO people only(?) 5) Food was getting cold while I was having soup.(Minus 1 point) 6) Asked to speak with the manager, Gordon, who was very professional. Took care of everything else after.(1 point) 7) Back to original server. We asked for a dessert menu and was given one. But she never came back to ask us what we wanted until we asked another person to get her.(Minus 1 point) 8) Original server gave us the bill and said to everyone, «we are going to take care of your WHOLE bill.» We said our thanks and said we really appreciate the manager’s generosity. However, she added«oh yeah, the other two still have to pay.» The friends were quite upset. The communication skills are so poor.(1 point, then minus 1 point) Some extra training would be appreciated. Short skirts are perfect for the bar; however, dining guests expect some common knowledge in dining routines. If you want to have a business lunch or dinner, or bring children, please do not go to Earls. It is very inappropriate.

Haven’t been to this location for years. Came here at happy hour today. Happy hour menu is pretty pathetic. Had a pound of wings(not on Happy hour menu) and nachos(on happy hour menu). Nachos were weak. No meat on them– just very limited veggies, and some sour cream. For $ 10, I expected more. Hot Wings were pretty standard but tiny chicken wings. Service was decent. The waitress came by a few times to check on us. I guess it’s what I would expect from this chain restaurant.

My mother in law wants to come here because they offer discount for Lyoness members. For the price they are charging, even the discount is not worth it. The décor is nice and the reception and wait staff are good but the food is meh. We ordered: Mediterranean Calamari — deep fried calamari with Greek yogurt sauce, slightly salty and average. Plated in a rectangle plate and big portion for appie Bourbon Mushroom Steak — nothing special and cannot really taste the bourbon Sablefish — The fish was nicely done but slightly cool when it came out even though the plate was piping hot. Bronx Burger with Clam Chowder — nothing special Half Rack of Baby Back Ribs — over done with sauce and very fatty ribs Overall over priced and under deliver.

We were there at around 4pm Sat. Jan 03⁄2015. Food was reliably delicious. Its a bit on the pricey side for casual dining. I did save $ 15 by ordering the full rack of ribs & cajun chicken. & split it w my wife. If ordered separately it may have had more of the sides but it would have been $ 52. Very tender & tasty. Service was a little slow but waitress was friendly & attentive. Very standard for Earls. We had an enjoyable dinner. Maybe prices were high but maybe thats why we dont go out much. Wife said we could have bought a lot of groceries for our dinner bill.

Haven’t been to this location in a long time but my friends took me out for a belated birthday dinner last week and i’m glad they picked this Earl’s. The open space concept here is refreshing when you compare to other chain restaurants like Joey’s or Cactus. They do separate lounge from dining room as well but the layout just feels better because the space isn’t boxed. The parking here is free which is great and the lot is pretty big. They share the lot with another restaurant though so you might have to drive around for a bit until you can find a spot. Had the salmon main and it was a good sized proportion. My gf had the Santa Fe Chicken salad she finished it so it must have been good. Service is good, it was a full restaurant when we came on a Friday night around 730 but we didn’t ahve too much of a delay.

We just came for lunch and I understand it’s busy but we were seated for over 5 mins with no one saying anything to us at all. I said to my mom I will give them 2 more minutes to at least take drink order and no one did. So we got up and left. Lucky for us swiss chalet is in same parking lot.

Food delicious as usual, but I’m giving it two stars only because the staff in the kitchen was so loud yelling, throwing, hitting, kicking, even breaking things that it got absolutely annoying to dine there.

I was here last night for a mother’s day dinner for my bf’s family. I made reservations the day before and luckily I got a table for 8 adults + 1 baby. But sadly when I got to the restaurant there was no high chair or booster seat. You would think whoever took the call would tell me that when I said we have a baby that will be coming for dinner. If they told me I would have brought a booster seat. When we got there, our table was somewhat weird looking. It was basically a booth for 6 and they added a table on the side with 3 other seats. It wasn’t as comfortable as expected. Our server Victoria was pretty nice to check up on us but when we needed her for either refills or taking down our order or getting the bill, that took like a good 5 – 10 mins to spot her. The food was ok. I ordered a burger with a side Cesar salad. My salad was way too saucy so I told Victoria about that and she replaced it. It was still kinda blah. I understand this isn’t her fault. The other guest that were with me felt the food was kinda meh. The ribs were a bit inconsistent. We ordered like 5 of their baby back ribs and only 2 of them were good. The other 3 was a bit dry. It was hard to find parking because they shared it Swiss Chalet and it was peak hour for dinner when we went. Overall not that great of an experience and the fact that I suggested this place for mother’s day dinner, I did feel it wasn’t up to par.

After a round of golf we headed to Earls for a late lunch. Earls is a box restaurant like any other franchise box restaurant. The forte of these box restaurants is their franchise wide consistency! The menu offerings are the same and the food pretty much tastes the same no matter which of the franchise restaurants you go to. The food was so so… We ordered their famous spinach and artichoke dip. Instead of taco chips we ended up with bread sticks. I didn’t like it. My chicken caesar salad was ok. Sorry but as long as the ingredients are fresh it’s hard to screw up this salad! Service was poor. The girl who served us was new. She couldn’t get our order straight. Honey a word of advice… Don’t trust your poor memory… write it down! Also, she had to be reminded to re fill our drinks! We just got off the golf course! We’re thirsty! Considering that it was about 2 pm when we got to the Earls and the restaurant was pretty empty I thought this girl could have done better! Would I come back… Hmmm… Not my first choice. I rather go to the Swiss Chalet next door! Sometimes you have to just go with the flow…

Nicely renovated interior and lots of screens on the lounge side. But do not make the mistake of bringing your best buds here for the wings on Wings Wednesday. The wings are tiny — I wish I could be as lean as these things. I can picture the Buyer for Earls going into the meat supplier and asking for Grade C chicken wings, then laughing themselves silly at the profit margins.

Probably the easiest of the Earls to get reservations, even on a fri night, compared to the DT ones, so though it’s less ambience/vibe, at least you don’t have to wait as long as the one upstairs on Robson. Prices are to be expected, it’s a ritzy place for a date, maybe a bit too strong for a date, but a casual lunch aint too bad. Too bad they got rid of their veggie burger some years ago, but the seasonal salads are pretty good, esp. in the summer when they throw in the blueberries, strawberries, & cranberries. This one has higher ceilings, so it’s quite grand in that way. Some booth seating, & like the bar lounge on the left. Lots of eye candy but don’t they all with these higher-end casual places? all competing with the Cactus Club’s, Milestones, Moxies, Joeys… Parking in the back, can be tough esp. with ICBC& Swiss Chalet around the corner. Good option in Burnaby.

For how swanky and booshie this place looked, the prices weren’t all too bad. I wasn’t the one who paid the tab but it came out to be around $ 200 for 6 people. That’s actually not bad at all. The place had a nice décor and ambiance. It felt really classy but at the same time quite loud and had a bar type feel to it. The waitresses was once again wearing skin tight clothing. I’m beginning to pick up on something that most restaurants have in common here in Vancouver. I have to say, the food was pretty amazing. We got a spinach dip to share and the dip was super creamy yet light at the same time. It didn’t make me feel like I need to get on a tread mill and run for about an hour to work off the dip. I got the tuna sushi salad. I got it mostly because it looked really interesting. I’ve seen ahi tuna salads before, but this one had the sushi part. They had brown rice and sushi rice mixed in with miso vinaigrette. It was quite yummy. I would definitely get it again. Or better yet, find a place that serves it in California or something. Or recreate it myself at home! I might have better luck with the second option. Recap 1) lots of eye candies for the guys 2) good ambiance 3) get the tuna sushi salad! 4) price is quite reasonable

I find most chain restaurants to be overpriced for what you get and Earls is in that category. Food wasn’t bad, but it could have been 5−10% less. Drinks were suprisingly tasty and this location is a good place to meet friends. It’s quiet since the place is not anywhere close to downtown, but you won’t have any problems finding seats for dinner. Lunch is another story, I’d recommend making reservations especially during the weekdays.

I’ve always liked the location down on Kingsway by Metrotown, but this one isn’t so bad. It has a semi-view of Grouse if you can look past and over the power lines across Lougheed. It looks like this place has been renovated; since it’s winter time, it isn’t really advisable to have outdoor seating… but in the summer, the patio area probably rocks. I came here with a huge group. The waitresses were helpful, and were all eye candies. Unlike many places in the States where aloofness is directly proportional to the perceived looks, the gals here are attractive yet genuinely friendly. Enough of that, this is a fun lively place. As for the food, I stayed mainstream. I had a steak and a Canadian. Twas good.

Staff is warm and friendly, service was really good. The food was excellent, no complaints. My friend has the fettucini with prosciutto and I had an amazing tomato soup. The décor is open and modern. THEBATHROOM: I’m not one for falling in love with a restroom but it was soooo nice!

A great but slightly overpriced place to meet with people. Parking is available thanks to a medium-sized lot, but every time I come here it’s full, even when it’s not Friday. I end up parking on the street outside the lot, or a block away. They hire many attractive girls(hello eye candy), with the occasional good looking guy mixed in to avoid the discrimination card. The server introduced herself by name and was just a bit too friendly. But I can see this resulting in larger tips overall, which is not a bad thing. The décor(just like the ladies’ clothing) is painted black. A bit typical, but it works in a place like this. Items are a little bit pricey, but not out of line with places like Cactus Clubs or Joey’s. We had some appies. Today the beer special was Stella’s, at $ 8 for a 500mL glass. Chili Chicken — it looked like the leftovers from chopped chicken, but I was pleasantly surprised. Sauce was a bit too. syrupy. Tasted a bit like Chinese take-out. Hot Wings — the wings are pretty huge, and have just the right amount of spiciness. Served with a couple of celery sticks. A bit on the expensive side, but it is a great place to be seen(if you’re into that) and have a good time.
