Jules Cafe

Friendly service and delicious, fresh homemade feel meals. I had the Jules Classic Burger for a reasonable $ 5 — it came with diner cut fries including the traditional lettuce, tomato & raw onion slices.Yummy. Note: when you first come in the front door, you order from a chalk board menu — so not much time to study the menu ’cause you don’t want to hold up the line. My friends ordered the Jules Clubhouse Sandwich & Turkey Panini. Definitely will visit another time.

We recently found ourselves in Burnaby and in need of brunch. Unilocal suggested Jules Café. It’s great. Nothing complicated just good food and lovely, friendly service.
Eggs were cooked just right (medium poached), coffee was hot, sausages were tasty but not greasy.
Jules is everything you want in a value brunch spot.

Similar quality of food as Bön’s Off Broadway, but in higher price. we have brunch at here…

This café is near my house, so I wanted to try the food out. They serve breakfast until 11AM only. While I was there a lot of customers tried to order breakfast items past that time but were denied. The tables don’t seem to get cleaned between clients! We came in and sat at a table where two people left. Didn’t see anyone wipe it.
This review is for lunch. Partner ordered the turkey panini and I ordered a reuben sandwich, both with poutine. Had a coffee and coke. It was okay, reminded me of my school cafeteria food, or food one gets at a concert or stadium stand. I enjoyed my sandwich, hot sandwiches are bomb. Panini for the partner was all right.
It’s not really the best deal here and the staff aren’t very attentive even though I tipped them. Customer pays first then the staff bring the food to the tables. I would come here to try breakfast before snubbing them, but there are so many other places to eat in this area. I mean, if I had to choose this café or lunch, even Metrotown food court is a contender.
So many other breakfast/​brunch places that actually care about your business. Family owned =/​= lack of service.

I was a paying client and had just finished lunch. I had returned 3 – 5 min later to use the rest room, they stopped me as I was leaving and said I couldn’t use the restroom because I had already left. My burger was mediocre at best. Just think that was rude.

Delicious. Prices are fairly cheap and you’ll leave content and full. Definitely worth the try if you want food made by people who know what their doing.

Overall I was not impressed with anything in particular… just average…
Came out thinking… overpaid for what I got.
Would I go back again… sadly no.
I can make an above average breakfast with my eyes closed… so I will :)

If you’re looking for a super fancy place with unique brunch items, this is not really the place to go. It’s really casual and seems to be family-​run. The lady who served us was really patient and sweet. I had called while on the way to see if the restaurant was very busy. She told me that it wasn’t and got a table ready for us. When you get inside, it’s a very no-​frills kind of place. She gave us our drinks first before getting our orders since not everyone had arrived yet.
They have the regular classics, traditional breakfast, pancakes, eggs benny. They also have a menu of sandwiches and burgers. It’s a pay first kind of diner. Not very expensive. It was all tasty. Nothing fancy, just breakfast/​lunch. I would come back if I’m in the area.

Small portions, plain and simple. Nice, courteous staff. Not very comfortable. But yeah, a cheap small place that you may choose to go if you dont want to cook your own breakfast or lunch :-)

I go there once in a while and the service is great. The staff is always smiley, it’s refreshing :)
The prices are very low (but seems to be increasing — still low though) and the food is very good.

I enjoy the simple things and life. This diner is my «safe place» when I just want a simple/​filling/​tasty breakfast. Decent prices and great portions. If you’re expecting and looking for something «hip» and «different», this isn’t the place for you!
I usually get the ultimate omelette or their traditional breakfast — both good and filling. I have never tried their lunch menu so I can’t say anything about it.
The staff are friendly. You order, pay, then find a seat and wait for your food. It can get busy really quick here. I live close by so sometimes I just grab it to-​go.

3.5 stars. Nice diner style restaurant, seems to be family run. You order first and pay and they bring it to you however if it’s really busy, you pick up your order.
The food is good, not the greatest but better than average. The price is cheap. I had the ultimate omelet which has ham, bacon, onions, tomato, cheese, mushrooms & peppers and comes with hashbrown and toast. This cost $ 9.50.
I got here around 11 and by 11:30, there were only a few seats left.

Really disappointed. I took Benedict egg. The Hollandaise sauce taste nothing. The potatoes taste like old oil. One microscopic melon in the plate and no fruits I can order a side. Need to order and paid at the cash in front… well you need to know that when it’s your first time because you can stanby a long time at your table and the staff advise you! !! I’m not recommended for breakfast or brunch at all…

Honestly just disappointing food, great for the kids at the high school but for adults with a discerning palate don’t bother…

I’ve heard a lot of people mention this place a few times over the years. I saw this reviewed on the front page of Unilocal on December 24^th, therefore, book marked it.
It does get busy fast. I believe that they’re cash only I think. I paid with cash under the impression that they didn’t take any other forms of payment, however, this is good to check on this next time I am in.
Very generous portions, they were fast and the food was made to order.

Mediocre food, inattentive service. Weird order and pay at the cash setup.
We walked into the place for so-​called «brunch» on Sunday and waited for a seat. At least 3 or 4 service staff looked at us and didn’t say a thing and continued going on with their business. Finally after awkwardly standing there for 5 minutes or so, the woman behind the cash told us that we could sit down.
The pancakes we ordered were nothing special. It was annoying that we had to go up and get more syrup in these little plastic disposable containers that they placed near the coffee cream and other condiments. Why not give the table a container that you can pour syrup out of? The home-​fries were under-​seasoned and blah. The coffee was good and hot.
The price was reasonable. There was someone playing guitar beside the cash which was quaint but the whole restaurant was really stuffy.
The whole experience was underwhelming to the point that we will not be back.

such a cute little place! loved it! Definitely worth going to if you love the café feel with good food!

A couple years later and this place is still great. I selfishly hope it stays the same and a little undiscovered because its definitely one of my favorite joints!
