An energy healer and long time collector of crystals, stones and minerals– I like this shop a lot! They have a huge selection of rocks, geodes, various minerals, small and large crystals, and gems in their glass cases– something for everyone. Some items are a little more $, but many things are also less than their competitors. Some of their small pocket crystals are $ 1.50 when others stores offer them for $ 1.00 but there are some bargains to be had here, too. They have beautiful chunks and clusters of quartz for $ 5 and $ 10 which is a steal, and I got a tall piece of citrine for only $ 9 when I paid the same at a competitor for one half the size. I also got a large citrine chunk for a bargain $ 27 and a tall piece of smokey quartz for $ 15, so you need to take your time and really look around. The side and back of the store have shelves of intriguing pieces as well as inside the many glass display cases. The staff is low pressure sales, friendly and really knowledgeable about their stones– and they offer some interesting looking classes on jewelry making with minerals and stones. I’ve been a few times now and really like this store, and it’s staff– and recommend it to anyone I know looking to build upon their crystal collection.

Had a great first experience at Mountain Gems and will be back. Staff are super friendly and helpful, and prices are cheaper than other local jewelry supply shops — in some cases significantly cheaper. They also offer a student discount on most tools and stones. All around great. :)

So many selections of gems/stones/crystals. From the really expensive to the budget friendly ones. They also offer jewellry making tools/kits etc. Friendly staff, if you need help they are very knowledgeable otherwise if you want to just check alone they wont bother you. I wish they have a store closer to Richmond or Vancouver.

Pricey, but a good selection. I also appreciate that they post courses for people interested in lapidary and jewelry making.

I honestly didn’t know this store existed until my father-in-law mentioned he wanted to go there after we had lunch at X-site. I was pleasantly surprised by the huge selection in this store. From small fluorite crystals to giant fossils, you can find any stone or crystal your heart desires. They have rows upon rows of precious stones, which are all reasonably priced. I really enjoyed browsing the fossils, as it’s really rare to see such a large selection in one place. The majority of items are out in the open, and I found it really cool to actually touch all of these cool crystals and fossils. Maybe I’m just easily amused. If you’re a rock collector, on the hunt for precious stones to make jewelry, or just want to look at some cool crystals, this is the place to go. The staff are really friendly and knowledgeable, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask! Just make sure you remember what the price of your item is, since the majority of stones are not labelled with price stickers.

This is my first stop when visiting the Vancouver area. For anyone that collects rock and gem specimens this is the place to go. They also have an excellent selection of lapidary equipment, jewelry making supplies, beads and the list goes on and on. The staff is very, very friendly and didn’t «hover» while I shopped. I highly recommend this store to anyone who is into natural wonders.
