Last night my friends and I had one of the worst experiences we have ever had at a restaurant or pub. I’m taking the time to write this because I want all of you to avoid this establishment at all costs so you may spare yourselves the insanity in which we had to endure. We wanted wings. I remembered that I saw a sign for the Oliver Twist Pub a while back for Wed Wing night. We looked it up online. Sure enough, their website stated it was and wings were $ 0.39! We decided to go. When we got there, our waitress informed us that they cost $ 0.59 each. We let that go since we were parked and seated. We ordered 6 orders of wings, yam fries and beer. When the wings came they were barely sauced. We sent back a few orders. While the waitress had our orders of wings on her tray to take back to the kitchen, she stopped to make sure all her other tables were ok first and punched in some orders on her computer. All within eye shot. 5 min later she brought back our wings, this time they were so soaked in sauce that they were practically inedible. As well as cold! We didn’t send them back. We ate a few and left the rest. We ordered more beer and she brought us the wrong beers. We mentioned to her, the mistake but said its fine, we will finish them and leave. She brought the bill and the machine and we tried to pay but it died. She talked to the manager for about 15 min before bringing another debit machine that also didn’t work. This repeated two more times and took roughly 40 min. All while the manager and her refused to take blame and kept telling us it wasn’t their fault. Clearly, it was. If you are working as a server or bartender and you don’t charge your machines how do you expect people to pay? Someone who is good at their job, even ok at their job would know to keep them charged. They told us we now had to use their in-store ATM which gives a hefty service charge there then again through your bank. Had it been mentioned as we sat down, that it was cash only, we would have been fine with it. However, after a terrible meal, terrible service, then having to wait almost an hour to leave, we were quite angry. I asked to speak to the«manager» the bartender who was posing as the manager called the owner who drove over. He was barely apologetic and said that he would knock 10% off our bill for the inconvenience! Can you believe that? What a slap in the face. The hilarity of it was that I explained to him everything that happened. He tells me «I’m sorry, I had a heart attack a month ago.» What does his health have anything to do with this situation? I told him that this was unacceptable. He didn’t budge. We were basically forced to use their ATM, pay and leave. Even after we pulled money out of the ATM, our server made us wait another 10 min for her. The owner obviously has no cares about his customers. He doesn’t know customer service and all he cares about is getting money. So do him a favor. Show that you will not support greedy establishments like this and spend your hard earned dollars somewhere else!

Went there twice with friends. Both times we practically served ourselves. We had to ask repeatedly for water and cutlery that eventually we went and grab them ourselves. The server couldn’t tell which order is which so we had to figure it out. The food might be cheap, but those animals totally died in vain. The wings were so dry, it was like chewing on a piece of rope. Some wings were flavourless while some were extremely salty. The steak bites were so overcooked and chewy that it took me like 3 minutes to eat one piece. The butter chicken was soupy and tasteless, the rice was similar to minute rice, and the naan were dried up pitas. The best tasting item on the table was water. By the end we were so grossed out that we didn’t finish our food. Needless to say we will not be returning.

Do not enter even if that’s the last restaurant in the world Chicken wings were dry like desert Basically it’s disgusting Service was hell Had to get my own fork… Bring down glasses to the bar for refill Had to ask 3 times for water Even the starving homeless doesn’t want to eat it Server can’t remember what we ordered, some of the orders were never taken in She basically just left the food on another and we had to pick up our own order

Food is insanely cheap here, and pretty good for the price! Our waitress was rarely around, occasionally taking breaks to sing karaōke, but I’ll still be back for cheap food and somersby cider on tap. They started the karaōke during the canucks game which I didn’t love, some of us came here to see the game not sing hotel california! Overall a decent place for some drinks and food with friends!

Cheap cheap! Has a cool automatic dart game upstairs and I can’t wait for the Canucks season to watch games there. Food is bar food but it is priced right. I’ll be back!

We haven’t been to this pub for years … so we thought we would check it out with new renos/management since February. Hey for a local pub we were pleasantly surprised! The everyday .39 cent wings were meaty and tasty. We had $ 4.95 paralyzer drink specials(which we haven’t had since the 80’s/90’s) and darn it … the cocktail was even better(obviously good bartender) than we remembered. We showed up around 5pm on a Monday, sat upstairs in a corner and found that the bartender had to double as a waitress for us for a while(she was awesome btw)! Our regular waitress was just as attentive and friendly. The friendly owner came around to check on things(he did this with every table). The entrees(we ordered pork milanese and chicken caesar wrap) were better than expected(for a pub) and a great deal as nothing on the menu is above $ 9.95. Tons of parking north side of the building. We will definitely make this our new local hang out!

Used to groupon here. We went for lunch around 130, bar was pretty empty, only a couple people. Food was awesome! We had the Korean ribs to start I had the steak sandwich. The ribs could have had a little more meat on them. Sandwich was good. Yam fries and sauce were very good. Only issue I had was that the pop tasted off. It didn’t taste like regular fountain pop. It tasted like pop you would mix with alcohol watered down. Service was good. Groupon was for $ 30, ended up paying $ 20 after thats. little expensive. Defiantly go back!

I used to come here back in the day before the renovations for karaōke and their cheap dinner specials. Back then the inside of the bar and the people who frequented it reflected that specific area of Edmonds(you know what I’m talking about). It was always fun times and I never got food poisoning so all was good. Recently a group of us came here for the Sunday night Karaōke and boy has the place changed! The inside now resembles that of a swanky Yaletown cocktail bar and while there weren’t many people there, those who were seemed to have all their teeth and weren’t fall-down-drunk. Sundays are 2 for 1 appies so we tried a few different ones. The tuna sushi bites & the hummus and naan was fairly decent. Most seemed satisfied with their food except for Nicole. F, who ordered the veggie burger because the cook said it was«a soy patty» only to find out after biting into it that it was in fact falafel patty. I’d also like to note that twice we ordered fancy cocktail drinks and the server brought us something completely different from what we had asked for — either she misheard us or the bartender doesn’t know how to make drinks properly. Not a huge deal. Karaōke night is FUUUUUN there! They have a huge song list and since it was fairly empty we all got to sing as many songs as we wanted without waiting too long. The other patrons were super friendly too and the more everyone drank, the more we all kind of merged into one big group haha. Tip: If you go for karaōke night and happen to see Cat Danger, ask him to show you his Mick Jagger dance moves. You won’t be disappointed.

A small group of us ventured out here for a birthday party a few weeks ago for some karaōke. It was totally dead in there because it was a Sunday night, except for a table of older gentlemen. One of them looked like Willie Nelson in a long jacket and a cowboy hat, and he went by the name Cat Thunder. He was pretty much my favourite person ever and I would consider going all the way back just to watch him belt out some sweet tunes again. The song list was so gigantic we didn’t even get through it all in the few hours we were there. The selection seemed pretty good. The menu is NOT very veggie friendly. I noticed that there was a veggie burger, and asked about the patty. I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t a falafel or curry burger because every time I’ve had either in burger form it has been a complete disaster. Our server went to check with the kitchen to see what it was made of and when she got back she assured me it was«probably a soy patty». Ummmm okay. What if I had allergies? How do you NOT know what you’re cooking? I get that the server might not know, but the chef??? When it arrived I took one bite and sure enough, it was a bland mushy falafel patty. I hate sending food back because I’m the most awkward person ever, but when she asked how everything was my face probably said enough. Thankfully she was super nice and removed it from the bill for me, and I still got to keep the fries which were actually decent. So go for the karaōke and the joys of Cat Thunder, but avoid the veggie burger!

A pub. Nothing is really special, but things are done correctly. I think it is hard to be exceptional in the pub format; I don’t expect much, and am mostly interested in the basics not being messed up, rather than some uniqueness or flair. Oliver Twist does the basics well. Reasonable daily drink specials, pleasant staff, and the food is actually not bad, especially if you go for one the specials. And, as many other Unilocalers have suggested, an excellent place to watch a hockey game if you live in this area.

We chose to hit Oliver Twist up, since it was close to our hotel and our friends wanted to watch the Canuks game. Unfortunately, the only seating available was in the patio, where all the smokers were hanging out. Nothing like some second-hand smoke to go with dinner… We order the hat-trick special, which is a bacon cheeseburger with mushrooms, and fries for $ 4.95. Nothing special, but definitely tasty and bang for your buck! We also got adventurous and ordered the Perogies, not having a clue what the hell it was, even after having two locals attempt to explain what they were. We were definitely glad we ordered it, after seeing it was some kind of potato dumplings with cheese, bacon, AND sausage! The ultimate man-meal… Which is what the girlfriend ordered. Definitely a must when visiting Oliver Twist, especially for us «Yankees.» In addition to the decent bar food and excellent service(despite the place being jam-packed due to the game), the best part of the experience were the drunks of the night. This included a filipino lady in her 50s looking all crazy, that came out to the patio YELLING a Black Eyed Peas song that took us some time to recognize, due to her heavy accent and her slurring, and the crazy drunken Irish dude that was bragging about having a Chinese girlfriend with a big ass. This was a lot more fun than the usual LA drunken douchebags we experience everytime we go out… Good times.

Great place to watch the Canucks play! Why? Cause people don’t know it exist! I remember the first time looking for this place. I must have passed by it 3 times before I saw the turn in. Google didn’t even know where it! It’s rarely busy here(though I have yet to come here during the finals, but it sure a great back up place to Wings). It’s a local’s bar here. Not many people know about it and seems to have a lot of older people here. The food here is cheap, simple and good! Get the wings here, especially when they are on special. The wings are a lot better than a lot of places I’ve tried. I would come here more often, but it’s a bit out of the way for me.

so. I came here to watch a ‘nucks game the other night and grab some grub and it was hopping. I had never been to this spot on the weekends so I didn’t know what to expect… They were great(as usual) — food still consistent(excellent nachos) and service quick, friendly, and well dressed which was a nice touch. feeling lucky? during hockey games everyone in the bar gets a raffle ticket and whenever the canucks score a goal they pick a ticket from their drum and if you win, you get to spin the wheel which equals free drinks and/or food. — all good things. they started Karoake upstairs, if that’s your thing… ha still worth the trip and many more.

I went a couple days ago with my friend and my boyfriend to try their burger special(burger and beer for 9 or 10 dollars). I don’t like beer so my boyfriend got mine, but the burger… Oh my goodness. The burger was delicious and huge, with the rest of the plate filled with fries. Even the fries were wonderful. I couldn’t stop eating even when I got full, so walking home was uncomfortable(but in a good way!). Then I went to bed. This makes me want to try the rest of the food that they offer! I might even get started tonight.
