I like this place. I live nearby and I like to come here for PHO. It’s yummy, affordable and simple yet flavourful food. I also like the staff, they seem real and not fake nice, which I like. I don’t like it when waiters are fake-nice, so annoying, lol. The service is fast too and they put up with my little requests for extra sauce, etc. :)

Had the raw beef and meatball phở and spring rolls. The phở soup base was salty and one dimensional. My beef was not served raw but, rather, well done. The meatballs were a bit too tough. Overall, the phở was mediocre at best. The spring rolls were a bit better but had a slightly odd flavour. The variety of food was good and the price was excellent. But I came for the phở and the phở definitely didn’t deliver.

I always loved this place, a lot of my friends live in the metro area and this would be our go to phở place! It has one of the best broths that I’ve tasted, and the portions are always enough to make you full. Last time I went with my hubsy after we stopped by in the neighborhood. I ordered a BBH instead of my usual special, and he got Spring Rolls on Vermicelli. Just saying, had this been a normal trip I would have rated their phở 4.5÷5. The BBH however, is gonna be slightly different. The BBH was eh… Ok at best. Don’t get me wrong, the broth was great as usual. My problem was that instead of pig blood and pig hock they simply tossed some sliced Vietnamese ham. Like, really? Not too impressed. Had they put on the correct toppings I would have given it a 4⁄5 but instead I’m gonna rate it a 3.5÷5. It was still delicious but the lack of toppings was bad in my books. The spring rolls were great as usual. Vermicelli gets a solid 4/5, but I usually order mine with the meats haha. Hubs was trying to save money because we dine out too much. Still delicious though. 4⁄5 overall, mainly because of the phở. Try that before anything else.

The staff really treat you like family and that is why I go back all the time. They are truly genuine and warm when they talk to you. You never feel rushed or patronized. They laugh and joke around with each other, and just sit down and eat themselves. Always smiling, they sing as they work, watch videos but still never miss a beat with anything you need. It’s a nice relaxing place compared to the usual formal sit down. They remember exactly what you like to order, and the service is very fast compared to other Phở places I’ve been to. The ingredients are very fresh and tasty. I always leave feeling clean and healthy. I usually order Phở ga with extra vegetables and a large is quite filling. I’ve been there more times than I can count and its always been great except just one time my chicken tasted slightly freezer burnt. Phở is always served with a pile of fresh bean sprouts, basil, and a lemon/lime. Be careful ordering the viet subs — ask for not spicy or you might get a surprise jalapeño that will melt your tongue and leave you crying. You get a complimentary orange and fortune cookie at the end of your meal. Kids dig the free candies too. Even when it’s just me they often bring me a second pot of tea after hanging out for a while after I eat. Prices are very reasonable but ‘cash only’ unfortunately. Parking at night on Kingsway is easy to find if you drive. The busy outside lights make the restaurant look small and confusing, but its comfortable and spacious inside. The front door is in some kind of air pocket so suctioned in really tight sometimes. As someone else mentioned, the floors are kind of slippery at times. The restaurant is always clean so it must just be the tiles. The Décor is certainly eclectic with a surfer/Mexican mural on one wall, Olympic-inspired neon rings, a painting from Cambodia, old posters for a speaking event that is long past and a 90’s style black and white framed photo of a young ‘all American’ couple leaning against a car. Sometimes I sit beside the beautiful fish tank. I like how they invite you to sit anywhere and you’re not shoved into the crappy middle spots or by the draft of the front door like many restaurants love to do. The tables are all singles arranged together so they are flexible for larger groups. Definitely worth checking this place out. I always leave feeling great!

I have 1 check in here. And it will most probably be my last. I dont think I’ve ever known the difference between good phở and bad phở up until the moment i tasted the soup at Phở 24. Everything was just completely and utterly wrong from all possible dimensions of my experience 1. the broth: WHERE was the goddamn flavour?! I had to add about half the bottle of hoisin and sriracha to make it taste like anything 2. I ordered the RARE beef… it came rubbery and overcooked. Fail. 3. Portion of the noodles were half-assed. If you wanted to look like you were trying to cheap out, you succeeded at that. 4. The spring rolls: cold. and flavorless of course. Surprise, surprise My only thought was to finish my food, tip the minimum percent, escape outta there and never come back. If you know what’s good for you, don’t come here if you’re expecting at least a half decent bowl of Phở.

Don’t fall for it. This place is not 24 hours but they are open late. My boyfriend and I usually come here for late night munchies. The soup used in their phở is delicious! On the other hand, their«lemon grass» dishes don’t actually have lemon grass on them. Service is not always great and«ice water» has been warm every time I’ve been there. Overall, decent prices for decent portions. You get what you paid for.

Nice enough place. Good food, cheap prices, and it’s open late — although not 24 hours, despite the name. It’s a cash-only restaurant, but that seems to be the case for every Phở place in Vancouver so I don’t hold that against them. The decorations are a bit weird though. I think the place used to be a surf-style diner or something, so the walls are still painted with murals of surf boards and beaches. Don’t get me wrong: It looks nice, it’s just odd.

My BF and I chose this place because we are always looking for good late night dining places and where curious when we drove by and saw the name«Phở 24 express» after reading the reviews I noticed someone mention it was not actually 24hrs so I asked the waiter and he told me they were open until 2 go figure. The tea was jasmine, free and good as it should be in any Asian restaurant. Their menu was a bit more limited compared to some phở places but I ordered my usual, the carrot beef stew with noodles which was not very authentic but still tasty with good cuts of beef with no fatty grizzle just the way I prefer. The sprouts and basil served with my dish was extremely fresh and of good quality. My BF got the Viet spring rolls, shrimp rolls and a lemongrass chicken sub. He said they were ok and from what I tasted it was just average nothing I would crave to come back for more but would consider returning for late night eats since it’s in my neighborhood. The restaurant was pretty clean for a Viet restaurant and the décor was less tacky than most VN spots but what ever I don’t go to Vietnamese restaurants with high expectations for ambience. The service wasn’t bad but I left there reeking like deep fried food, in fact I think my eyes felt smokey at one point during our meal. They need better ventilation.

We did not have many choices to eat out late at night in this neighborhood. So we came to this restaurant. Inside the restaurant was not so clean… went to the bathroom and it was so dirty. The food was so so.

Mmmm, mm, good! Love their food but the restaurant décor is odd and sometimes less than clean. Their house special phở is great, order a small with the spring rolls and you’ve got a superb meal. Their avocado shake is amazing, save a bit and eat it with the fortune cookies they give out, it’s weirdly delicious. Overall the best choice is probably take out.

Phở 24 Express: An unfortunate decline in quality. I’m not entirely sure if what I ate should even be considered ‘phở’. I’ve been a regular customer for a little over a year because I knew that I was able to count on good phở with great portions upon every visit. I was sadly disappointed the other night when what I was served was something even I can whip up in a snap. My broth wasn’t the same broth I remembered it to be. It used to be robust and flavourful. Rather, it tasted like instant soup base that you can find in a cheap Chinese wonton house. My noodles were no longer the conventional rice flour noodles that everyone craves. Instead, the noodles resembled vermicelli of a thicker variety. I’m hoping this place will improve its quality. My intention when I eat out is to avoid the consumption of something I can have at home. For the time being, I’ll avoid Phở 24 Express and dine at other places that serve a more genuine bowl of phở.

My coworkers and I love this place. If we feel like phở, this is our place. The broth is quite tasty and the service is quick! Very friendly staff, your in and out before you know it. Great if you only have 30 minutes for lunch. I’ve tried a few things on the menu, non-phở items, and they are tasty also. It’s almost as good as my momma’s cooking.

First thing I noticed when I walked into this place was that the floors were very slippery. Not really in a just cleaned slippery kind of way, more like a greasy slippery, hasn’t been cleaned in a really long time kind of way. I literally almost fell on my face traversing this restaurant to get to the table where my friends were sitting. Second thing, I learned about my self. I realize I need to really read the menu’s before I order anything. I thought I had ordered a basic beef and pork phở noodles bowl, but It was actually spicy. I was a little surprised when It came, but it was my fault as I didn’t really read the whole description. All I saw was beef and pork and that sold me LOL. I’m not sure if this has happened to me before because I can’t remember a time where I had ordered something and was surprised by what actually arrived. It tasted ok, was kind of greasy like the floors. But when It comes to phở, I usually like the plain soup base because the spicy kind just over powers all other tastes. My friend was so very kind to let me try her soup, and it was delicious! Overall not a bad place. Ill definitely check it out again and make sure to read the whole descriptions of the menu before ordering… and then I will re-review :) St3Fin

A girlfriend and I were craving late night BBtea, but decided to do phở next door instead. I ordered the vegetarian spring roll and the veggie phở, topping it off with an orange slice and a fortune cookie. The service was prompt, and unintrusive which was great. I was impressed by the overall portion sizes, and that the spring rolls were made fresh. They advertise 24HRS, but on a wednesday, be courteous Vancity, the staff probably just want to go home.

Do you like pretending you’re in an LA surf shop while eating Phở? Come here. Prices are reasonable and service has always been super friendly. Warning: When getting liquid containers for takeout, double check that it’s closed properly. Also, it’s not 24 hours, not sure why they named it this.

You know what? I really like this place. Despite the odd décor. And service has been friendlier of late with female staff serving on my last few visits. Again, I really don’t know my way around this type of cuisine, but the food here is consistent, and I like it. It’s also a really good deal. Therefore, I give my Unilocal stamp of approval. I’m a fan! Also, there’s nothing like a spicy bowl of curry when you are feeling ill, amirite?

As the city grows, so do the expansion of ‘phở’ noodles joints. Kingsway is filled with these, and here’s another one. It is near metro, and I think it is open either really late, or 24 hours. It is roomy, new, and if your coming late at night there usually is tons of parking right along Kingsway. On this night I had a regular bowl of phở, and one of their salads for a late night dinner. The servings are standard size, the noodles though could use some work. Middle of road in any othe rarea, but near Metrotown, probably one of the better ones if your looking for a ‘phở’ fix.

There are a number of Vietnamese places close by but so far this newcomer is the best Phở I’ve found in Metrotown. I’ve had the rare steak Phở and deep fried spring rolls several times. The Phở is clear and flavorful. Somewhat unusually the Phở and especially the spring rolls are both somewhat spicy(black pepper). Something to be aware of if that’s not your kind of thing, you might want to mention when you order. Staff has always been friendly and accommodating to requests. Lemon wedges and bean sprouts to add to your Phở. Orange slices and fortune cookies after your meal. Décor is eclectic, not sure if they specifically designed it that way or just left the walls painted with a sort of Mexican surfer theme from whatever was there before them.
