Delicious. I’m pretty sure that the reviewers that complained weren’t Asian, so there not used to this kind of service… And the wait time because Asian food courts don’t do the fast food vibe. lol… Anyway… I ordered the Chicken Rice Noodle soup $ 7.75. It came in less than 15 minutes, which is considered fast in a Chinese food court because Chinese food courts aren’t a place to expect food in less than 3 minutes like that McDonald’s crap. It was steaming hot, and the aroma was light and pleasant. And I don’t care if it’s 25+ Celsius outside. I want a hot steaming bowl of noodles… No I am not insane. The portions were big. The noodles were rounded, almost like a thick spaghetti, but there rice noodles. The texture was very smooth. The meat was a bit on the fattier side, but it went well. It even came with a quail egg, which was nice. They did, however, bummed it up with MSG. Unfortunately. For $ 7.75, it’s a good deal… Better than those high end restaurants at least! Basically, it’s hot, filling, and good for a light dinner. Defiantly will be coming back.

Noodles are basically Asian comfort food so it’s what I order at least once a week. Xiang Yuan Qiao has about 8 or 9 different noodle soup dishes. I didn’t know what to order so my friend and I decided to share 2 of them. She ordered the pork noodle soup and I ordered the fish tofu noodle soup. The portion itself is decent and you’ll definitely be full. The meat quality is a bit on the fattier side and there are way too much carbs vs meat. The soup is also full of MSG because I was thirsty for hours after. Did I enjoy my meal? It was average if not, slightly lower. You can do better choices at Crystal Mall for food.

Eeesh, tough crowd. :/ I’ve been here a long time ago and remember the food as a big meh. Tonight, my Mom wanted something light and meat-less, so I picked the Fish Ball noodle pot for her. This is one of the more popular stalls at this food court, so be prepared for longer waits. Anyway, food arrived in a clay pot — a nice touch. Lots of spinach greens and sprouts. Fish balls were sliced and lots of them. 1 quail egg. I’m not a big fan of fatter round noodles, but these were cooked perfectly. The broth was light and flavourful. Definitely MSGed up, but doesn’t seem too bad as Mommy dear was not thirsty afterwards. Overall, much better than what I remembered. With the over-abundance of grease, MSG, and salt at the Crystal Mall food court, this is refreshing. Remember to return your clay pot!

I and my gastro-partner, aka my wife, decided to try the hotpot for 2 today. I thought $ 15 was a bit much, but what the heck, had to try it. The young girl that took orders was not very helpful, hardly said a word, even when it was time to pay. She just looked at us. Maybe she thought that doey-eyed look was all she needed. But, I digress… It took a while, maybe 10 minutes, to get our beef, lamb, and beef ball hotpot. I think it’s a better deal, and quicker, if you order the individual hotpots. I must agree with the other reviewers on the size of the beef ball slices. They do slice them thin. The soup, lamb, and beef were all good. The veggies were done well, but the noodles were overcooked and kind of soggy. I am reducing to 2 stars from 3 for that. I’d probably go somewhere else that would more than likely be better for less $$, even though lots of other people were ordering from there. It seems like we lucked out and got the person who cooks a bit better than other days.

Seems like this kind of noodle shop is pretty trendy. However, quality standards definitely varies. This one is graded towards the lower end of the spectrum. The pros: it’s made-to-order and the finished product came out piping hot in a ceramic bowl. The cons: yes, the wait could be long depending and it’s so hot I had to wait a few minutes for it to cool down enough to eat. Not sure if that’s the reason, but everything in it seemed to be overcooked. The noodle was soggy, the veggie lacked crunch, and the fish ball slices lost all its flavour. I agreed with the previous review that the fish ball was sliced way too thin, probably they tried to make it look more abundant than there actually was. The price for my noodle was actually $ 6.25. If you go get a drink from another shop, the price would be the same as going to the Cattle café, which has better value and quality for their noodle in my opinion.

It located at Crystal Mall 2/F food court. I shouldn’t have any complain or expectation about food court. I saw this noodle shop always line up when I passed by. That’s why I wanna give them a try. However, it was so disappointed. First, I waited for 8 – 10 mins to order and 15 mins for the noodle soup. Second, when I got the pot of noodle soup, I didn’t like it at all. The meat balls sliced in very thin piece and didn’t taste good. Third, the price was not cheap — $ 7.5 for noodle soup but NO drink & self-served. I always can go somewhere(HK style café or Cattle Café) to get the same thing with drink and service.
