Glow Hair and Nails

As a long-​time client of Glow, I would happily recommend any of the stylists and technicians to anyone looking for hair, nails and lash extensions in Calgary. The entire staff is very professional and I have never been unsatisfied with any service I have recieved from Tamara (gel nails and lash extensions) and Harold (hair).
Despite the fact that I live on the other side of the city and there are countless salons that would be more convenient, I venture out to Cranston every three weeks for my lash and gel nail fills to recieve the best services with the highest quality products.
If you are looking for a salon with a great atmosphere, a clean environment and talented staff… look no further than Glow!

Generally speaking I really don’t care about reviews and will give everything a chance based on own experiences. However I felt compelled to write a review for this salon. When the new owners took over this salon in Cranston, I came in to get my hair trimmed and had a $ 40 gift card. My gift card was denied because it was sold to my husband from the previous owner a few weeks prior. I think this bad business and they should have honored the card regardless. However I have still patronized the salon because we have lived in Cranston for 7 years and I think its important to support local businesses in our community. Since my last visit 2 weeks ago I will not be back. This is barr– none the worst haircut I have ever had. My hair was down to the middle of my back and I came in actually wanting quite a bit of length taken off because I had quite a few split end. However I specifically said to the stylist that I do not over style my hair, I am a mother of three small children and do not have a lot of time to spend on my hair in the morning. My hair texture hair is super straight and quite fine therefore not suitable for a choppy layered hair cut. I specifically reiterated this to the stylist. I also said I do not want a «matronly «haircut because I am 30 years old and want to look young and my age. When I left the salon that day, I actually hadn’t noticed how bad my hair was because the stylist spent a really long time styling my hair after it was cut. It wasn’t until I washed my hair and went to style it myself I realized how bad it was. My hair is clearly 4 inches shorter on one side. Also when I washed my hair there was still 5 – 6 strands of hair that were down the middle of my back, my original hair length. My hair is a choppy layered mess. The right side of my hair is cut to my ear lobe, while the left side goes down to my shoulders. It is such a bad haircut that there is an audible gasp when I take my hair out of the ponytail I am forced to wear now. I have had long hair for a long time, and really just wanted my ends cleaned up. There is no solution here other than for me to completely cut my hair off into an entirely short haircut which I do not want or to wear my hair in a ponytail for the next year to 18 months. This is entirely embarrassing to have to walk around this horrific haircut. I added pictures in my profile, so you can see how bad this haircut really is. I will never go back.

My wife has been going to Glow since it opened and she is always happy with the service she receives. This is what she says about the salon; «Tamara and her gang are absolutely amazing at everything they specialize in. I get my nails, pedicures, lashes and hair all done at Glow and would never go anywhere else. The salon is clean and follows health guidelines that are rarely even acknowledged in other salons. The staff is friendly and hilarious as well. I go to Glow every 3 weeks and can honestly say, I have never left unsatisfied.»
