This place is dangerous as I always drop at least $ 200 each visit. I love their clothes stock, not just teeny tiny polka dot bikinis here, but they do have a wide selection of swimwear!
A great range of styles for women and men available from some of my favourite brands like Volcom, Billabong and Dakine.
They also sell Sanuk & Reef Sandals, wallets, watches, long boards and stand up paddle boards.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, and won’t turn their nose up at you if you have never surfed a day in your life.
Definitely check out Red Nik, it is tucked away in the mall plaza next to Mount Royal University, so great for an intimate shopping experience, last minute holiday shopping or a good way to kill an afternoon!

Everybody’s going surfing… surfing Canada, eh!
I never would have thought I’d find a surf shop in Calgary. But lo and behold, we have one. And it’s been around for nearly a decade!
I can’t help but chuckle at the name, Red Nik’s. There’s nothing ‘typically Albertan’ about the store. Red Nik’s is full of summer and surf wear. When you want some board shorts or a new swimsuit for that winter vacation and find yourself out of season, there’s a big selection here. They also carry clothing that’s more climate appropriate (think hoodies, sweaters and jeans).
What’s a surf shop without surf boards? Surprise! They carry those too. I stood next to one and I swear it was nearly twice my height. I’m not sure what percentage of the population in Calgary surfs, but looking like you do has been a long time trend. Alternatively, if the ocean’s too far away, why not buy yourself a longboard?
