Best fades in calgary, I’ve gone to many barbers before salon 101 and I will definitely not be going to be going to any other barber now. Not only was the cut amazing but the energy and vibes in the place were perfect. Definitely recommend.

I came here after I moved and was far from my old hairdresser based on the other reviews. The salon is uni-​sex and does standard hair salon practises (cut, colour, style, etc). My appointment (just a haircut) was with Amir who I believe owns the place. He’s a super friendly person who’s not overly talkative, but definitely knows what he’s doing. He listened to what I wanted, suggested a few things, and we took it from there. I’m very happy with the results; it’s exactly what I wanted and the second my boyfriend saw me he told me how good I looked which isn’t his usual response when I get a haircut. The cut itself was $ 50 + tax, though it may vary depending on who you see (I’m not sure). I will definitely be back. I think they take walk-​ins, but I recommend an appointment as the time slots seem to be generally full.

Had a fantastic experience at salon 101. I recently moved to Calgary and am always nervous to try a new hairdresser for my blonde highlights. Amir was sensational. He was one step ahead of me on everything I wanted in color and cut. When he was cutting another gentleman’s hair while mine was in foil, he was still very attentive to me and kept checking how my color was progressing. (I’ve been to a few salons where I sit there and wait and try not to freak out that my hair is possibly turning bright/​bleach blonde because the hairdresser is busy with another customer!) I’ve seriously found my match in a hairdresser. End results: very natural and beautiful blonde highlights and awesome cut. See you in a few months Amir!

Consistant, creative, clean and thorough thats how I would describe the staff at Salon101 .The service is exceptional and the haircuts are unreal! Although walkins are welcome it does seem prebooking is the best way to get in, sometimes running late but definetly worth the wait.
Wifey wont let me go anywere else not that I would anyways!

Had a fantastic experience with Amir at Salon 101! From the moment I stepped into the shop, I was welcomed immediately as if I was a long-​time client instead of a first-​timer — conversation with Amir was easy and pleasant, and he was quick ask all the right questions to understand what I had in mind and what I wanted my hair to look like. Professionalism from the start.
He made sure I was comfortable and had all the coffee I needed while he was working his magic; shop was clean and décor was trendy but not over-​bearing. The cut I got was exactly what I wanted — perfect trim to frame my face, stylish, and with great «swooshy» and light movement for the length. Added details in feathering and overall shape made it very chic; this man knows his trade and he has a passion for it. Can’t wait to show off my new ‘do.
Products: While the salon does not carry extensive selection of products (Amir chooses to focus on styling rather than selling) I found a handy selection of smooth-​down gels, leave in conditioners and such — all of which Amir uses daily and trusts.
I will definitely be back.

It’s apparent from the first visit that Amir is knowledgeable and proficient in his chosen profession. He listens to the client, and offers suggestions that work. It was an excellent experience, and I will use his services again. Thank you for a great haircut!
