Horrible horrible horrible. I bought the 2 for 1 groupon and had to miss the class because a family member ended up in the hospital and my child ended up being sick. I called and they never ever bothered to return my call but instead I get an email days later telling me oh well here is the recipe. Which is your basic Google searched recipe. All I was asking was to be able to attend another class, not my money back. I replied and never heard back, I sent another email and never heard back. Dont bother calling they never ever answer the phone. Why do they bother? Such inconsiderate people. Such an inconsiderate company. So sad that they need to treat their customers so poorly. Save your money and go someplace else. They aren’t even worth 1 star.
In response to their comment. I would have canceled if my family member didn’t get rushed to emergency Wednesday night and my child start getting sick Thursday afternoon. It would be no big deal to reschedule a class. What good is a recipe if I have no idea how to make the soap. Your replies shows how inconsiderate you guys are.

I love the classes here. I love the quality of the products in the classes too! Soap and More is the place to buy raw materials you’ll use to make your own skin/​face/​beauty products at home, tailored for you and your skin. I highly recommend taking a class; it’s fun, takes about three hours, and you can do it in a group, pair or just by yourself.
At the end of class you walk away with an education, a class room booklet of information and also a knowledge of how what you just made is actually good for you. It’s like eating clean — that fitness saying «abs are made in the kitchen» goes for products you put on your skin too. If you make it yourself, you know what’s going into it and it’s healthier.
I learned things in these classes like soap you buy in stores usually has their naturally forming glycerin removed since it’s a commodity for large companies who can use it to make other, more expensive products. I learned what essential oils can combat different skin ailments. I also learned how to make the best, most wholesome soap with all the goodies that nourish your skin all by myself. So thank you Soap and More! And thank you for the instructors too, who are knowledgeable and love what they teach. There’s more than just soap making here too — you can take classes on making candles, lotions, face oils, etc.
Since I’m comfortable making soap, and have been doing it for years, I really like their advanced soap class. It’s nice to make soap with a group of soap makers who love their craft! It’s also nice to work in their space. They have what every soap maker needs and it’s organized well. They also sell a wide variety of products for you to make your own products — lotion, shampoo, etc.
Sometimes the customer service is great, other times it seems a little disheveled. But overall, it’s a great workshop to have in Calgary.

The classes are super. Very informative, not as hand-​on as I would have expected, but you get to take your products home with you so that’s cool. I am not sure they are worth the full value, we had a groupon which made it totally worth it but otherwise the cost seems a little steep. We went for SPF and Bug Spray, and during the course of 2 hours made a sunscreen, an SPF bronzer, and lipbalm and a bug spray. All natural products. I think it would have been nice to have a «cheat sheet» of the essential oils, as they were allowing us to choose whichever we would like for the products however having taken aromatherapy I know certain oils do different things.
So why only 3 stars… the shop itself is slightly difficult to navigate, and several test products seem rancid.
Also they have a loyalty program HOWEVER you ONLY get your points if you order online first, so if you want to see the products in person you have to go to the store, but if you want your discount points you have to make the actual purchase online and can pick it up… seems like you should just be able to get your points under your account either way.
If natural stuff is your thing though, this is the place to go!
Check out the Soap Nuts … I just tried some in my laundry and they worked GREAT!

Treated terribly for walking in with my three small children. We did NO wrong in their shop, I haven’t been treated that badly as a mom by a business before. I was in disbelief. I really wanted to use this store for many home remedy products, I’ll stick to ordering online to never be treated that way again or subject my children to feeling unwanted and unwelcomed without merit.

I recently took a great soap-​making class with a coupon from Groupon.
Staff were helpful, the class was informative.
I made 3 batches of soap for a total of 6 bath bars!
Can’t wait to go back and learn some more!
