Son of The Pharaoh

This is a nice little shop in eau claire market. Crammed with egyptian, tibetan, and other culture s knick knacks, jewellry, statues, incense, decore. If you like egypt you will like this store. Loads of stuff to look through. Also could be categorized somewhat as new age and metaphysical products. The older man who works there is very knowlegable and not too pushy. Prices for most things are reasonable.
The also have a location on 17 ave sw just west of 14 st, you can shop online too.

Walking into the new (er) Son of the Pharoah on 17^th Ave SW (the older one was in Eau Claire), is overwhelming. It is two levels, just packed with stuff. A lot of the products pertain to Egyptian culture, but they have added a ton of trinkets, that arent Egyptian themed like fairy statues and African masks, board games etc…
If you belly dance, this is a one stop shop. They have hip scarves, full costumes, coin belts, zills, jewelry and swords.
The staff were very friendly and knowledgable about the questions we had regarding the oils they carry.
Definately need time to browse through all they have to offer, but definately worth it, as its not your everyday stuff.

I’m like a peacock. I like things shiny. The Son of the Pharaoh is filled with bling, from the great golden statues outside to the belly dancing outfits inside. Hel~lo sparkles!
I like that there is so much egypt-​themed handicrafts, considering it is one of the only stores of its kind in Calgary. It’s a pretty great place to score some unique gifts, like chess sets and lamps. Everything is really beautiful and intricate and stylized. Ok, ok, and shiny. YES!!! Shiny presents for the win.

I really did not like this store, it does carry a huge selection of items that pertain to Egypt but it just is so tacky and over the top. Chess pieces, belly dancing scarves and accessories, home decoration of King Tut, the Pharaohs and the Sphinx, tea cups, jewellery, and lamps.
Not one area of the store is left uncovered. It just seemed chaotic and way too consumed with embellished cheap Egyptian type décor.

The Son Of The Pharaoh carries Egyptian Imports and is truly one of a kind in the city.
They carry everything from hip scarves and Egyptian perfume bottles, to handcrafted Egyptian ornaments and jewellery.
I absolutely love this store.
The staff is extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful, and the prices are reasonable considering everything in their store has been imported from Egypt.
Every time I step into this store, I feel like I’ve been transported abroad. I get lost in the music and there are just so many fascinating and amazing things to look at!
If you haven’t yet been, I highly recommend making a trip over to this store.
And just a little tip: if you belly dance or know someone that does, this store carries the most amazing accessories for it, so perhaps you can get a headstart on your Christmas shopping!
