Kensington has been my hood for quite a few years and last week marked the first time I have ever ventured into the Starbucks. Not too bad, right?! With The Roasterie, Higher Ground and now The Coffee Market so near, there was never a point to stop in at good ol’ bucks. So why did I do it? You must be tossing in anticipation… Someone suggested we meet there. As I was about to pipe up with some other suggestions I realized I’d never been through these doors and I just kind of went with it. Why? Who knows… Just kind of curious I guess… «Curious eh, Dale… well did it pay off? What did you find?» You ask me, overwhelmed with curiosity. Hold your breath. It was… well, it was a Starbucks. Probably still is too. They’ll have all the drinks you’d expect at Starbucks, along with all the seasonal bevies too. Crazy, right? Who know?! Plus a couple points to this one for the unusually awesome staff and the cool, brick building.

It was National Coffee Cake Day(yes, seriously this is a real thing) and that, combined with a rich, velvety tall flat white made my day today! Kensington’s Starbucks is a great place to start your day, for sure, but also a great place to stop during the day, too. It’s not uncommon for me to wind my way here during a break, or even to pick up a treat for myself at the end of a hectic and busy day. The staff at the Kensington Starbucks keep the line moving even when there’s a lot of folks waiting for their beverages, which I appreciate, especially when I have to get back to work… That’s why I am a fan!

Thanks for letting me use the washroom Starbucks of Kensington, I tend to frequent your brother locations down south, so there is no way you can get away with calling me a scab for taking advantage. Huge fan though, I do have one of those membership card things that I try to load up once in a while, but yeah if I’m in the area I might as well chill @ Higher Ground next door, no hard feelings

This Starbucks in Kensington is not too bad. They are open early and there’s free parking! Bonus! The coffees I’ve had are all right — Starbucks quality. Did you know the washrooms are downstairs? It’s a bit of a hike. If you are not able to walk down, beware.

I’d never been to this Starbucks until just recently. Considering there are a multitude of independently owned, and absolutely FABULOUS coffee shops in the area, I generally try to support them rather than a franchise. The friend I was meeting however was partial to Starbucks, so I bit the bullet and we met up here. The service here was excellent. No ifs, ands or buts about it. The location is prime — right in the heart of Kensington, however seating is limited, VERY limited; There are only 4 comfy chairs for all to fight over. Plus in this particular area, this coffee is the priciest on the block. The ambiance is alright, as are the drinks, but what really saved this rating is the service. The staff was insanely friendly, and I have to give them mad props for that! A job well done!
