They not only know and understand the jewel-​world, but more importantly they know how to design, communicate and execute quality workmanship. Value is second to none, and they are customer focused, willing to customize and bring in whatever is necessary to ensure that you are satisfied with the finished product. Highly recommend them.

Very disappointing! It was an inauspicious start when we were kept waiting 45 min for our first appointment and it went downhill from there. We had 6 weeks to the wedding. I found a ring in their catalogue and was assured that it would be absolutely no problem to have that ring made with some minor changes and it would be in time. We came back to pick the diamond, were shown progress by email and came back again to see the wax model which was nothing like the ring I picked. Very concerned we spoke to the supervisor who definitely was going to remake the ring (the original was actually her design) but it wouldn’t be ready for the wedding so it would be ready when we came back in another month. We felt we were in good hands. We were arrived to pick the ring up after our wedding, having been told it was ready, it was only half done. She had us take the ring home anyway so that we would have something to show all the relatives that were going to fly home soon. The general consensus was that the ring looked home made. We brought the ring back, now we were shunted to the owner. We were fed up, especially after having the blame put on us as we «didn’t come in often enough in person». We demanded a full refund, which the owner initially was not going to do saying that they would keep a percentage back. Finally after some discussion she relented and we did get our refund. We absolutely do NOT recommend this place!

Short story — bf proposed. Fast forward to now — he told me about his experience ring shopping. So many great places in Calgary. There are whole sale diamond shops, shops with every setting under the rainbow, shops with the biggest name brands in the world. If Calgary has nothing else, it’s selection.
But it all came down to this — as a man who runs his family business, he wanted to support a family business. Goldsmiths, a family run jewellery store for the last 40, is the type of place you could drive by everyday on your way to work for a year and not even notice it. Like I did.
He knew what type of person I was, he kind of hand an idea of what I would like — so he found a few pictures but more than anything, used words to describe to the staff there what he thought the ring should look like. With the descriptions he gave them, they created a one of a kind, vintage inspired engagement ring. They took time and energy to custom design a setting that he would be proud to put a diamond on. Numerous visit, back and forth decision making, hair pulling, he had nothing but their full attention to make sure it was perfect.
On top of that — he says flat out he got the most diamond for his money, far and beyond what other retailers and wholesalers could offer him. He thinks it’s because they are a family run business and what is a marriage but the start of a family?
