Forever in blue jeans. I’ve found my new favourite denim store. And wouldn’t you know it? It’s been around for 14 years! I can’t say I didn’t know about it, in fact, a couple of springs ago when one of my cousins came to visit, I do believe she told me about this store full of jeans that she had found down 17th Ave one day. Her jeans looked great on her. At any rate, I’ve been partial to a pair of jeans I found at Value Village that I cut holes in one year for Halloween. They ended up being so comfy that they made their way into my regular pantation(pant rotation). The only problem with them is that, well, I cut holes in them! It’s time for a less hole-y pair. Unlimited Blue has more jeans than I know what to do with. I think I found almost a dozen pairs to try on, and had a hard time deciding between three pairs in the end. It’s no surprise that they were all Silver Jeans. I’ve been wearing Silvers for the last 15 years, and they still fit me like a glove. There are so many aspects of this store that impressed me, from the service, to the prices and selection right down to the alterations they offer on-site. There was one pair I liked that were just a bit too big in the waist, but fit everywhere else that they could have altered for me so they fit. I found another pair that didn’t need any alterations, but that first pair is still on my mind… I may take them up on this yet. Most of the jeans I looked at were priced in the range I remember paying for them in high school(10 – 15 years ago is when I started wearing Silvers… I know you’re trying to do the math), from $ 65-$ 100. Granted, the original price on the Silvers was $ 100, but had been crossed out with red marker and reduced to $ 75. What I nearly missed was the sign telling me there are more jeans downstairs, all under $ 25 and some as low as $ 1.99. I was reminded once again of my high school days working in the local jeans store in Wetaskiwin. We’d sell old stock for as low as $ 5 a pair. You’d be surprised at how well those old jeans can sell. I actually found a pair of nice yoga-type pants for $ 14.99.

Two words: Jean Heaven. I always avoided this store because I assumed the jeans would be stupid expensive, but today I was proved wrong. Dead wrong. With jeans for as low as $ 1.99(in the bargain basement part of the store), this shop is truly a diamond in the rough. Okay, so some of the jeans are the kinda jeans that no one in their right minds would buy — uh, lilac taper jeans? Can I get a HELLNO!!! But considering the store is 2 levels — downstairs being the bargain basement, you can SURELY find a pair of jeans that makes you look as good as you feel! Plus the service ROCKS. The man working there today was AMAAAZINGLY helpful and extremely welcoming — I’d go back just based on the service! I’m truly impressed with Unlimited Blue. They’ve got enough jeans to go around and then some, so DEFINITELY make your way down.

This store truly reflects its name in that it really does carry unlimited blue jeans. Over 100 different types in fact. It is sort of a warehouse of jeans; men’s and women’s, in different styles and sizes. I am appalled at jean prices, I am a product of the 80s where buying a nice pair of Wranglers was at $ 9.99. But times are a changing and I have seen jeans selling now for well over $ 200. At UB, shopping is pretty laid back, the staff gal there basically gives you the room to look around, I saw jeans at over $ 100 but there were also jeans marked at $ 30. It seems to have a great selection as well as a great selection of sizes. It is nice and convenient too, during your leisurely walk up and down 17th avenue you can stop in to view the unlimited blue.

I’m not a $ 300 jeans girl. I just can’t do it. Maybe because my size fluctuates, or I wear my jeans hard, but spending $ 300 on jeans(even really, really nice ones) just makes me weep a little inside, but I’m still interested in having stylish nice jeans. Unlimited blue has some of the nicest«cheap» jeans I have ever seen. The carry relatively well-known brand names(guess, Moto, Bauhaus, Kensie), a full spectrum of sizes and it is all jeans. It is like a one-shop stop to finding a good pair of good jeans, ones that emphasize the booty and are fashionable and fit well and have the right wash. I’ve easily tried on more than fifteen pairs before I’ve found the right ones, but hey, I can get 3 – 4 pairs of jeans for the same price as a pair of Sevens.
