This place is extraordinary! The food is authentic and very delicious! Service is excellent and price is good. Highly recommended.

The food was excellent, with the server/owner going out of his way to recommend a more suitable dish than my intended order. My only complaint would be that the beer was served in a regular glass; not chilled. I believe this is more of a custom issue, as my Indian dining companion had water without ice and the same owner/waiter did not seem surprised. When in the area, I would surely come back

Hands down my favorite restaurant that I have ever been too. I’ve never been so satisfied with a restaurant as i had with Grain of Salt. My girlfriend and I ordered appetizers first. Expecting the appetizers to be small, we were surprised to see giant portions being served to us and being served so quickly while the restaurant was incredibly busy. The waiters where amazing and on point, always there when you needed them. My girlfriend ordered the vegetable thali and I ordered the lamb rogan josh and as expected it came to us very quickly and my gosh was it amazing. I had to stop because my mouth was on fire but I didn’t want to. All our food plus the appetizers came down to $ 50, totally worth it. I recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone, do yourself a favour and check it out.

I highly recommend Grain of Salt. It is the best tasting Indian food I have ever had. Tonight I ordered Korma(Chicken) and Vegetable Maratha for dinner and Ras Malak for dessert. The server was an absolute delight. My partner and I look forward to coming back!

Really yummy but too expensive… Verrrrry rich! I like it better as leftovers the next day and adding a little milk to the curry to thin it out, then it’s just perfect!!!

I traveled to Cambridge for a wedding from the US not knowing anything about the town and decided to try this place. The food was great, authentic, flavorful! The service was not only fast, but really thoughtful(main course came out only after I finished the appetizer, proper plating, attentive staff, etc.) I liked the booth seating, and even though it was a full house the staff handled it well. A gem — would highly recommend!

This is the best Indian food in the region. Décor is authentic, staff pleasant and price is right. They have great combos at lunch too.

If you are looking for authentic Indian food at a reasonable price, this is the place to have lunch. For the set lunch menu, I was given a good sized portion of butter chicken, naan, a chick pea curry, a salad, and a dessert. While I don’t remember the exact price, I was able to get out of there without spending more than $ 16 dollars(included a tip.) The atmosphere was nice and the service was impeccable despite the heavy lunch rush.

The chickens in curries were all so dry. Atmosphere and price was what was expected — clean and reasonable.

I paid almost $ 20 for a single order of Chilli-chicken, which I love. It’s the most I ever paid for this dish and it was not really worth it. I’m not sure if my order was wrong but it looked and tasted like no other chilli chicken I had. I’ll change my review once I go back n make sure but for now it wasn’t great. Nice place and nice people though, but I’m all about the food. Maybe it was authentic and I’m just used to whatever I get around the GTA.

Absolutely amazing Indian food. Had the Tandoori Shrimp and tried my boyfriend’s Butter Chicken — so incredible. The Butter Chicken sauce is super creamy, but also has an incredibly rich flavour and the perfect spice blend. I love dipping the garlic naan in the sauce, it’s unreal. The staff is also very pleasant. One time, I forgot my wallet, and I called ten minutes after I got home and they had already found it and were holding it for me and had it ready the moment I came back. Very nice of them!

So very disappointing. My meal was a disaster. It started off as my order was a reject from a different table. Two tables down from where I was sitting, the ladies politely sent by the dish as it wasn’t what they ordered. The waiter took to plate off their table walked to the back and seconds later brought out the dish to me. When I asked if it was the same order — the waiter said it was. Fine. However the food was cold but that time. My dining companion was left without a meal as my already plate grew colder. When the waiter brought my friends dish, it turned out to be the wrong meal and with apologies the waiter took it back. I was almost finished my meal by the time my companion received his meal. Shameful. To many better choices out there. As a side note — I filled out a comment card, and sent them an email about my visit — still awaiting a response.

There is no better Indian restaurant than this one in all tri-city area. I know that Indian cuisine is a very broad term, and I couldn’t tell you exactly what part of India they are trying to showcase, but the dishes here are absolutely great. I haven’t found the same dishes anywhere else(other than the classics, curry or vindaloo or tandoori, for example) and this brings us back. This, the taste and also the service. If you like butter chicken, you have to try the chicken in almond sauce. And their kulfi is the best we had so far. As with all Indian places, a great care should be taken with the spice level. 2* is more than enough here. Highly recommended. No comparison with any other Indian restaurant in the area.

I adore this restaurant. I highly recommend the Butter Chicken and the Grain of Salt special, it’s a great sampler from the tandoor menu. If I had one complaint it’s the consistency with the amount of cheese in the paneer cuulcha. Sometimes it’s bursting other times it’s a bit thin. But other than that I haven’t had a sub par meal here.

This is my second favourite Indian restaurant in town. Depending on what I’m looking for, I’ll come here. The food is great and there is such a wonderful variety. This restaurant has vegan, vegetarian as well as dairy dishes. The spice can be a bit much(and I like spicy), but they will accommodate to your tastes, just ask. Only complaint, some dishes can be a bit oily.

We’ve tried many Indian restaurants and Grain of Salt is the best we’ve sampled to this point. Fantastic service, delicious curries, and plentiful rice and naan. The price is decent for the amount of food served, and you won’t be disappointed. Tons of parking, lots of seating, but be prepared to wait a short time if going on weekends. Just writing this review makes me want to go back. Delicious. Our friends and family tried Indian for the first time at Grain of Salt, and now it is their restaurant of choice.

Listen. If you want good food, you go here. I have been coming here for 2 years and I have never, ever had a bad experience. The courteous staff remember me and always provide top notch service! We get butter chicken and chilli chicken extra spicy and it is wicked awesome. Always a number one, and will be a lifetime favourite! Oh one last thing, for a dessert that is bound to set your taste buds into mouth watering yearn for more, get mango melai… Yum!!!

My husband and I love Indian food. We have quite a few Indian friends who like to make suggestions about where and where not to eat. One thing that is consistent is that everyone recommends this place above all other. We went for lunch and had their lunch specials. Chicken Tikka Masala for me and Vindaloo Chicken for the husband. It came with daal, a salad, a piece of tandori chicken, rice, raita, naan and kheer for dessert. It was a good deal and the food was delicious. We even wrote about it on our blog: I don’t know if it’s the best Indian food I have ever eaten but it’s good!
