I was fairly happy with our visit to Mango Chutney. I went with my girlfriend and we ordered the two people combo and an appetizer coming to $ 60, giving us the option of three mains with a side of rice and naan. The food was fantastic. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fantastic. What wasn’t fantastic was the rice portions, the servers inability to explain the upgrade charges and the price of the food. The rice to the curry portions are way too small and because of this you go through the rice far quicker than the curry. The server would take our orders which turned out to be upgrades, that didn’t sound like upgrades at all, and would not tell us there was an extra $ 2 fee for whatever we just ordered. All in all pretty good but too expensive in my opinion.

We were traveling back to the Detroit area and found this restaurant on our way back from Toronto, Ontario. What a delightful surprise! The food was outstanding and the owner & her husband were friendly, polite, and helpful. We will definitely be back for more.

$ 50 for 3 small curry and some rice(dinner for 2 option) and a mango lassi. Food tasted okay. Not bad, not great but for the price and portion, it’s really not worth it. Server was really nice.

Nice, cozy, warm, truly authentic Indian place with a great ambience and warm and professional service. Chef knows what she’s doing and it felt like a home cooked meal. One of the best meals I have had recently. Highly recommended!

Great second meal. Much like the first, quite sensational. Excellent and friendly service on both occasions. Love this place. Highway chicken was a new dish to me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Fish also was a new item we tried and it was terrific.

Always in search of great Indian food and we found it in Mango Chutney, Cambridge! Went in for a little early Valentines dinner last evening and we are both still talking about how much we enjoyed it this morning, even bickering over who gets to eat the left overs for lunch. The service was extremely friendly and very attentive, the meal even started with a red rose, which was a very special touch. We ordered samosas to start, and they were awesome, presented in a little bundle rather than the traditional triangle. We decided to do the meal for 2 combo, you get to choose 3 entrees, med size portions and comes with rice and naan. We choose classic butter chicken, masala paneer, and Narial Machli(Fish). All three were off the hook, clean, fresh, and cooked to perfection. I say that you can judge a good indian restaurant based on its butter chicken and this was the most unique taste experience I have ever had, the verdict is in and we give Mango Chutney a GOLDSTAR! Also really enjoyed the drink list, local beers and VQA wines! Love a small restaurant that supports local Ontario products! I’ve been working in the service industry for 12 years and am usually pretty tough to please, but Mango Chutney hit the mark and I will definitely be a repeat guest!!! High fives all around.

Wow! The experience was awesome all the way. The décor was beautiful with great Hindi songs playing n in the background. The server was very sweet and efficient. I ordered gobhi allu, palak kofta, rice and naan. The masala chai was just perfect for a cold day. The food was so yummy that I almost ate all of it and I am a light eater. Each dish came in a small white, clean dish. All the food was seasoned perfect and presented very well. The server came by to check on me every 5 mins. Also, the chef went by each table and asked if the food was good. I have to say that is one awesome customer service. I also bought additional spices cuz I couldn’t resist. Very personable sevice. I wish u guys were in Sacramento, CA. I would be there every weekend.

My wife and I love going to Mango Chutney because the atmosphere is very relaxing and the food is amazing. The chef has a unique ability to maximise flavour and spices while still maintaining a healthy meal. Very fresh and so good. I can honestly say that this is the best Indian food period. If you have not had a chance to try I definitely recommend you do.

Great food and ambience. The rajhma cakes, channa and aloo gobi were delicious! Pleasing ambience. Bright and good coordination of colors. Like another user reviewed here, Mango Chutney does not use cream in the cooking! Healthy vegetarian restaurant if you order the right food:)

Staff and atmosphere were great. The food I give 7⁄10. Had the Saag and wasn’t overly impressed. I guess being from an East Indian family I like it done a certain way. It would be a great dish if trying Saag for the first time.

Love this little place. I have only ever had the buffet at this place, but it’s always been varied and tasty and authentically prepared. They bring free nan bread, and rice and the service is excellent. Very friendly staff, and clean nice ambience… Highly recommended

Love this place. My husband and I stumbled upon it one day and couldn’t believe how good it was and how amazing the staff was. They had just opened a few months earlier and loved being able to talk and interact with the owner. We were also really impressed with what was on the menu. Had the regulars, but also a few items we had not heard of before. It’s so good to find a unique place like this in Cambridge.

I love this place. Some of the best Indian food I have ever had. I love to cook Indian food at home and have been to India twice. This food is wonderfully spiced and expertly prepared. If you love really high quality Indian food, you really need to try Mango Chutney. Unlike low quality places that drown their food in sauces, these folks concentrate on making the most flavor using the core ingredients — not hiding poor ingredients behind a sea of sauce. This is my third visit and can’t wait to come back for more.

I’ve enjoyed watching as Mango Chutney improves over time– they are always making additions and changes to make the diner’s experience even better. This includes changes to the menu and altering the décor to make the best use of a small space. The restaurant feels intimate and clean. Also worth coming for: a family-run atmosphere, brilliant service, a willingness to customize, and a smile of recognition when they see a familiar face. The food is fantastic. I don’t go anywhere else for Indian food. I’ve been there for lunch many times, and also for dinner– the saag lamb is one of my favourites. And gulab jamun is my Achilles heel– I don’t think I’ve ever left without having some for dessert. Great chai, great naan, and I’m a fan of the Cheetah Dark beer as well. I’ve never been disappointed. One of my very favourite places to go. It’s always a treat, and I’m very glad that a friend introduced me to it, because I’ll certainly visit time and time again.

Mango Chutney is the best Indian food in Cambridge beating Grain of Salt by a hair. The butter chicken is not greasy in the least, we liked it so much we bought a jar of it for home. While the rowan josh could have been spicer, it was quite tasty. Nice and clean, very friendly staff and Cheetah beer with the meal is the way to go. Served with frosted mugs! My only compliant was that the Rohan josh was not on the lunch buffet menu but even the buffet had the same great taste as the dinner.

Having grown up India, I have been looking for good Indian food in the KW area ever since moving to the area. Seeing that the majority of the Southeast Asian community live in the GTA, the majority of the Indian restaurants are understandably located there. I was excited to try Mango Chutney, having read about it on Unilocal.I ordered Mango Lassi(yogurt-type smoothie) alongside a «feast for one», which consists of 2 curry dishes, naan, and rice for $ 15. I chose the Lamb Rogan Josh and Methi Chicken. Both curries tasted fresh and as authentic as eating them in India. I spoke to the owner while waiting for my food, and he noted how they did not use cream like most North-Americanized Indian restaurants, which keeps the food from tasting greasy and is more authentic to typical Indian cuisine. The décor is modern and it looks very clean. Needless to say, I will definitely be going back again.

This is an authentic Indian restaurant. Something to note is that they don’t use cream in their dishes, which makes it more authentic(in India, cream isn’t used at all), a lot healthier(the usual indigestion was nowhere to be had), and more flavorful. It does change the texture of the dish frim what you might be used to however.(most resturnts do the cream thing) Just so you know… They have a nice selection of beers available, which is a big value add with Indian food. A nice variety of authentic Indian sweets are available for individual or bulk purchase. Would recommend!
