Amazing soups and sandwiches. I had the chipotle chicken sandwich. Very good! Would recommend to anyone!

Don’t come here if you have anywhere you need to be. Every day at Yellow Deli has a sweet lazy Sunday afternoon feel to it. The Mennonites are a super laid back community, there’s no rush for anything and I like that about it. Some might think their server is socially awkward or uncomfortable but they’re just quiet — no unnecessary conversation, simple and I love it. I promise the food is worth waiting for. The interior décor is clean, dimly lit and nice. The sandwiches taste so fresh and delicious, and I had curried sweet potato soup today that was incredible. You have to have the cinnamon bun! Drizzled in a gooey maple syrup, they’re warm and heavenly! We drove all the way to Chilliwack from Burnaby just for lunch here. Lazy Suday afternoon!

I checked into the Yellow Deli early one morning for breakfast. The place was very dimly lit. I walked in and eventually greeted by another man around my age. He didn’t have very good people skills, I instantly felt awkward as soon as he brought me to my table. The experience didn’t get any better. I ordered two eggs and date bread, along with a Yerba mate tea. I was given the option of cream and honey for my tea. When my breakfast arrived the eggs tasted strongly of butter. Like they put way too much butter on the frying pan when they cooked the eggs. I couldn’t taste anything but butter. Eggs had decent runny yolks. The highlight of the visit was the date bread. It had an excellent sweetness to it wasn’t dry. It broke apart nicely when I broke the bread with my hands. Other than the bread, the service wasn’t very good. When I went to pay, I paid in cash and the waiter who was serving me the entire time held onto the change in his hand like he thought he deserved it as a tip. Again made me feel more awkward so I ended up giving him a 20% tip because I felt too awkward to ask him for my change which he didn’t put on the table with my paper money.

My husband and I were passing through Chilliwack about a month ago and chose the Yellow Deli for lunch based on its Unilocal reviews. We couldn’t have been more pleased. The sandwiches were fantastic, the interior of the place was AWESOME, the staff was great, and I can’t stop thinking about their carrot cake! Im thinking of making a trip back to Chilliwack just to eat here again!

May possibly have the most delicious waffle I have ever had! Very friendly service with a laid back atmosphere. Perhaps not the place to go if you’re in a big hurry– there is no rush here– and that quality adds to its charm. Items had were the deli waffle with berries and yogurt topping. My wife had the yogurt parfait. We enjoyed it so much we returned two days later for the same thing. When you think it’s good, better try it again to make sure! Looking forward to visiting again for lunch!

Such a homely place. It’s awesome that they’re open 24 hours Sunday night to Friday. Food is always fresh and delicious, including homemade bread. I went here tonight with my boyfriend and we ordered our food to go. They accidentally brought it to us on dishes and we reminded them we got it to go so as we got up to pay they told us out entire meal was free because of their small mistake! We tried to tell them it wasn’t a big deal ATALL but they insisted. We thought that was so nice. Only downside about this place can be slow but everyone there is so friendly it really isn’t a big deal. I highly recommend their banana milk and their Turkey rancher, it’s my personal fav but all their other food I’ve tried is delicious too.

We went to this place on our way to Penticton from Vancouver. My wife saw really good reviews and there we were, however, after trying their food, i do think this is a bit over rated. Its not bad food, but not worth 4.5 stars for sure.

Absolutely the best place to get away from the hustle of Downtown Chilliwack. The food is fresh and hot, the apple cider to DIE for(though they have gone to a smaller mug size, which I’m not thrilled about), with a really quiet, mellow vibe. The only bad thing is it’s not always super clear who you should be paying. Other than that, top notch.

We’ve been to the Yellow Deli a few times now. Being creatures of habit though, we ordered the reuben sandwiches and chili each time. FOOD The chili is a very delicious soup. It could use a bit more spice to it to be more of a chili – but it’s by absolutely no means a bad soup. The bread that came with our order was soft and good too. Reubens were delicious – but if you don’t like them hot and sweaty and want them toasted, be careful!(That doesn’t bug me at all, the sandwich is really good.) The other reviews are right, the food is healthy and unique.. . and neither the staff nor the restaurant really shoves that ‘organic’ vibe down your throat.(Not to insult the ‘organic’ folks, but I have had it aggressively marketed at me before, that’s all. c:) DRINK I ordered a root beer the last time, and while it came cold, it was a bit flat. I got the hot apple cider this time and it was absolutely fantastic. I love the mugs they come in too. Good size! ENVIRONMENT The restaurant is lit differently in different places, but not in a disjointed way. I found that it gives patrons better seating options, in fact. The décor is very unique. The fireplace there is a really good choice, imo. And it’s just.. .a combination I would never have thought of myself, but very pleasant and relaxing. STAFF/SERVICE It’s –older-INTP heaven, if you know what that means. :p The staff seems pretty smart and they’re not really rude. Just a bit awkward sometimes. They were never slow or unpleasant. And the bathroom was clean.

I am from the city and am use to city gourmet food. This place beats most expensive places in the city. I am also kind of a nerd… So that’s why I like this place a lot. Cool, very relaxing, chill environment. It’s as if you went to the Shire in The Hobit or Lord Of The Rings. The all wooden theme and light music ambiance is unique and soothing. All the staff look the same, as in they all have beards and wear plad shirts. The tables are made of a slab of tree. The wall is filled with hand custom art. The food is mostly sandwiches of healthy choices. The drinks are fantastic. Hot or cold apple ciders, special herb drinks and real fruit smoothies such as papaya. This place is really a hidden gem. 4 stars but would be a 5 star if they only had a grill. Sadly this place is too small to have a grill.

Only got one item from the Yellow Deli, but it was delectable. Ordered the Deli Rose: roast beef and smoked meat, hot pepper Monterrey jack cheese, onion, tomato, and their«own special sauce» on an onion roll. It was delicious. Plump, juicy. The bread was amazing. The place is charming. Beautiful wooden interior, friendly folk. There was an «odd» feel about the place, which made more sense after reading up on the religious folks that run it … but if the food is good, who cares? Open 24⁄5(24 hours, Monday morning — Friday afternoon, which is unconventional, but smart!), this is well worth a stop anytime you are on the road or visiting Chilliwack. Chances are good that they’ll be open no matter what time you are travelling!

An outstanding experience after camping! Rustic wood everywhere, pleasant staff. The music is mellow and fits with the feel of the restaurant. We were seated at beautiful all wood table with smooth edges and grain lines running through. The muffin was one of the best I have ever had! The bread is so delicious everyone liked it. The curry yam soup was amazingly smooth and flavorful. Coffee was served in a hearty smooth clay mug that was beautiful. We had Peached and cream dessert which is a special desert they don’t always have. Overall a great experience, and we will be back again

Very nice country design. The interior is gorgeous and country style. Nice hardwood flooring. Amazing atmosphere inside with wonderful staff. I love how everything is natural and organic. Really nice mate drinks and products. The food is decent but maybe a bit too sweet on some dishes and too moist for my liking. The cookies are awesome. The bread is OK. The mate energy bars are an awesome natural hiking snack. If you want an immersion experience into a country style this is a great place to go for coffee and enjoy a light snack. And better this place is open 24⁄6!!!

When you have 600miles of the road on you, you’ll make do with just about anything. But, when you lay your eyes on a Yellow Deli, it kinda feels like you drove 600miles to eat at Yellow Deli. The quirkiness & novelty of the place should alone do the trick. The fact that they’re that cool, and also open 24hrs/day(until Friday 3PM… a sad realization when we ran into a «closed Yellow Deli» on the way back) makes it all the more cooler. And then, there’s the staff… hipster & courteous… and the food, creeps up on you when you’re least expecting. Radhika(wife) ordered hot chocolate and waffles… they serve enough hot chocolate in one serving to give the entire family a sugar high(at least an east-Indian sized family). I ordered coffee. Again, yeti-sized serving… so, I stayed up the whole way on the passenger seat when I supposed to get some shut eye(thanks a lot, yellow deli). And then there was the Turkeywich(Turkey-Breakfast Sandwiched served in a croissant like bread that is just heavenly stuff). Tip: If you’re not big into cheese, ask them to take it easy… I think they slapped on three slices of it in one sandwiched(I am pretty sure my heart must’ve clogged a tad bit as I was downing it). Noteworthy mention: They have free WiFi. So, in a nutshell: Ambience: 5⁄5 Service: 5⁄5 Hours of Operation: 5⁄5 Food: 5⁄5

Interesting place, interesting people, reasonable prices and delicious, healthy food. We stopped by while driving through to the Okanagan, it was just a few minutes off the highway and we were glad we stooped as the food was healthy, tasty and unique. Their beliefs are such that they do not use a deep fryer, so everything hot is generally steamed(not at all soggy). We shared the waffle with fruit and yogurt, it was very tasty and well presented. We also shared the smoked turkey breakfast sandwhich which was also very tasty(messy to eat). They pour very large cups of coffee, which we enjoyed. The service is pleasant, friendly and authentic. We felt welcomed and comfortable. The ambiance is cozy and rustic; large wood beams, rounds of wood made into tables, even homemade macramé. Apparently it was made by their community, neat idea. They have a small store/bakery in the adjacent parking lot which is worth a stop as well.

This restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere. The interior is beautiful, the ingredients are fresh & home grown, the dishes are flavourful and they have a delicious chai latte(among others!) There is not a lot of these kind of quaint places in the area so I highly recommend stopping in here. It’s not far off the highway.

The best place to eat by far in Chilliwack! They have their own farm where they grow their fruits and vegetables on every thing they serve is very flavourful b/c it is fresh and organic. This place is a must and it is also very cute and the people are very welcoming

Because friends of ours gave this restaurant high reviews we decided to check it out for ourselves. It did not disappoint. The ambience is wonderful– quiet, rustic, and cozy with low lighting. The carpentry is amazing, really unique. Even if the food wasn’t great(which it is) the ambience will guarantee a good experience. The food is very tasty, the service friendly, and they will try to cater to those with wheat/gluten sensitivities. Highly recommended!

Delicious, generous helpings of freshly prepared, wholesome food. I had lunch with my friends from«The ‘Wack» yesterday and it was a thoroughly enjoyable meal. The staff were so nice and polite and checked on us multiple times throughout the meal. I had a small chili, which really was quite generous. There was so much food in that bowl I think I could have fed my two friends and myself! Plus I had a delightful side salad upgraded to their healthy-but-tasty cranberry and almond salad. Partner that with a thick slice of fresh and moist spelt bread and you have a winning combo. You know what I had to drink with my lunch? Mate. A huge, beautiful mug full of it. Sure, it wasn’t served traditionally in a gord with a bombilla, but it did taste like the real thing and was perfectly balanced with a bit of sweetness. I don’t often see mate done this way in a restaurant/café so I was pleasantly surprised by it. The interior of the deli is softly lit, and has a really warm and welcoming feel. The tables are wood, and some of them are smoothed slices of tree trunks. I love that look. The benches are partially covered in pieces of leather and there are interesting wooden dropped ceilings, giving it all a rustic feel.
