This place is actually a great place to study if you live nearby. I envy the students that go to Centennial as this library was renovated when I went to school here 5 years ago. The library is very cozy and prides itself with having a big section dedicated to kids. I am guessing due to its central location within the suburb. They do have quiet study area in small pockets along its walls for anyone who wants a quiet time of concentrated studying that you would never be able to do in a coffee shop. As far as books, I am sure they have ample amounts that would satisfy the needs of the general public. For College students, maybe not. My parents rent DVD’s here occasionally and they have a vast selection for you to choose from. It’s location is very central for those who would like to get a lot done for the day as it is beside a recreation centre, a track field and a bus exchange loop linking it to major transportation hubs.

The new renovations to the coquitlam public library makes me wish this library was in the direction of my commute. This is by far the coziest little library I have ever encountered. It’s a library with cozy chairs and a fire place!!! Im surprised I actually left and didn’t just sit and read here. This library is wheelchair accessible and brilliantly designed. There are bookable study and conference rooms, and quiet study areas. And and area with seniors only seating, and even a place to buy coffee, and old books. Also Wi Fi is offered here so it’s quite convient for those in need of internet, books, silence, and a cup of joe.(If only they served tea or hot chocolate) I also noticed that one of the original two entrances to the renovated library is now closed of much to my confusion but that means that I no longer see the local high schoolers bothering library patrons by blowing cigarette smoke into their faces. Instead at the old entrance they have an interesting garden art sculpture piece. I should also mention that this library has a very nice graphic novel section in the teens section, and have a good quality selection of books over all. It’s a very good little community library up there in terms of quality with the VPL for me. Bravo! Keep it up Coquitlam!
