This is one of the authentic Japanese restaurants we go to. We normally order the assorted sashimi, spicy scallop roll, spicy salmon sashimi and spider roll here. We also tried the lobster tempura roll, crispy roll, prawn tempura and yakisoba here. The price is very reasonable for the portion here. The food sometimes is hit or miss here but overall, I do enjoy dining here. The restaurant is very busy during lunch and dinner time so we normally book reservation when we go with friends.

Hmmm how can the sushi chef accepts this happened. The rice is not fully wrapped, and once u serve with chopsticks, the rice mess up everywhere. Also, the sushi served in warm rice. The tempura coating is too thick. I believe the original Japanese owner must have sold this restaurant to someone else. Very disappointed to this restaurant and wouldn’t recommend it.

Visited this place on a whim, wasn’t expecting a whole lot but I was pleasantly surprised! The servers were friendly and efficient. Even though it was quite busy as it was dinner time on a Saturday evening. Our order was taken and served in a very timely manner. Food was definitely above average. My new sushi spot when I don’t feel like driving too far! Absolutely recommend everyone to give this place a try! You will be pleasantly surprised!

@ Edith M First all, thanks for coming our restaurant. Every customer is important to us. We do our best to make customers happy. You showed up @ 6:30 and you can see our restaurant is already full and there is line up too. So our waitress told you better come back @7:15 instead of waiting here because we don’t want to waste your time. Even you wait here we couldn’t sever you a table before your reservation time because we have some other customers’ reservations @6:30. Also there are walking in customers waiting for a while and we have to serve them too. But you decided to wait here. We gave the three walk in customers a really small table first because we know you want a bigger table. Later we moved them to a bigger table because: we have a group of 8 customers had the reservation@6:30 but we couldn’t serve them a table because we were too busy. They were really nice and patient. Finally there was a table available for them @7:10 but we run out of chairs. So we had to move those three walk-in customers to the booth so we could get the chairs for them to sit down. You saw it and just yelled to our waitress and never listen to her explanation. If we were not busy and any table empty of course we would like to serve you. But at that moment we cannot. Please understand us. Thanks again for coming and let we know your opinion:))

We came here with 20% coupon and nice review from Unilocal. It is not disappointed at all. Both food and service are outstanding. We definitely will come back again as there are more items we would like to try out. I especially like the the appetizer like Agedashi tofu. It is so good that we should order more. We also ordered the today’s special — Harring Karaage. It is a bit pricy in term of the size but it tasted so good nevertheless.

I’ve found this place just by an accident when I went to buy some groceries to Inno Bakery next door. The staff here is very friendly, food very tasty, price reasonable, and the place itself is very clean. They won’t give you a cup of tea, but a teapot full of tea. Also, not a tiny bit of ginger, but a huge box of ginger :) And miso during the lunchtime. Love it! I’ll be definitely coming here more often.

I was here not too long ago. Just your average sushi restaurant. Average size rolls. Nothing really memorable except maybe the service was a little slow. The atmosphere was a little sterile and more like a sushi diner. Probably will not return . I would like to add my son went here with a friend shortly after and it took 50 minutes to get his food. They gave him free miso soup . I do not think he will return either.

I came here with my husband on a Friday night. We had heard Nao Sushi had just opened up a new location in Coquitlam. I had a couple of fairly good experiences with the Burnaby location so I was looking forward to it. We arrived shortly after 7pm and the restaurant was quite busy. It was a few minutes before we were greeted by any staff. There was a family of 4 waiting for a bigger table, so fortunately we were able to grab the last free table for two. The menu is quite extensive with tons of sushi options, as well as hot food items of Japanese and Korean variety. We were just in the mood for sushi, so we ordered some salmon and toro nigiri, chopped scallop roll, negitoro, BC roll, and the specialty Burnaby roll. I will probably chalk this up to the growing pains of a newly opened restaurant, but the food was quite slow to arrive, literally one roll at a time. The service, while friendly, was also just as slow. We did not get any tea/water until we asked for it after our server finished taking our order. The food was okay, although we found the rice to be on the mushy side. The chopped scallop roll was made with a thin piece of lettuce inside instead of the usual cucumber, and the roll was made on the sloppy side, with filling falling out as you picked up a piece. Other friends who have come here on separate occasions did not mention any issues with mushy rice, so maybe it was just a one-off. The strangest thing though, was when we received the Burnaby roll. It was described as having«marinated tuna, avocado with masago, crunchy frites, spicy sauce on top». I ordered it because it was similar to at least two other specialty rolls(Fire and Volcano) that described«crunchy frites», followed by photos depicting sushi rolls with deep fried yam flakes on top. Imagine our surprise when the Burnaby Roll arrives at our table with zero crunchy frites, zero spicy sauce on top. Confused, I asked the server if there was a mistake, and she eventually came back and explained that the Burnaby roll was made this way at their Coquitlam location(ooook), and that the crunchy bits were inside the roll. It nearly took a magnifying glass to see she was referring to a few tempura bits(likely leftover crumbs from tempura orders) hidden inside the roll. «Crunchy frites» they definitely were not. I didn’t put up a fight with the server, but I probably wouldn’t order this roll again having felt misled. Overall it was a disappointing, lackluster first-time at Coquitlam’s Nao Sushi. I’ve definitely had better, but due to its location being closer to us than their Burnaby franchise, I’d be willing to try them again before completely writing them off. Stay tuned…

This place is SOSOSOGOOD! I tried to go to the NAO sushi in Burnaby many times but never succeeded. Therefore I was really excited to try to Coquitlam Location which is literally walking distance from my house! They did not disappoint! When I first saw their price, I thought for sure I am getting small portions. When I received them I was shocked at how big the sushis were and how nice the presentation was! It is a must try!!!

I’ve been to many sushi places all over the lower mainland. Many of which were recommended by other Unilocal users. For the price, and quality of this place. By far the best sushi I’ve ever had. I ordered the Deluxe Sushi Combo and the Dream Roll The tenderness of the sashimi and the creative flavours of the dream roll were absolute. I will return here in the near future.

Kamameshi is cute and tasted like traditional Japanese cuisine(washoku). Nigiri sushi is big and fresh and reasonably priced. I recommend Tamago nigiri and Miso soup.

Had lunch there and take out. The service was very good and quick. The food is fresh and they use real crab. The décor is nice. The ambiance good be better at diner if they were to dim the lights.

Shasimi fresh. Roll seemed a bit short. I had a small appetite and this item is perfect for small eaters but you can get a bowl of rice which I skipped

This location used to be an SPCA thrift store, which went out of business after the big Value Village opened on United Boulevard. They spent a good few months renovating, and just opened a few days ago as a sushi restaurant(with hot dishes as well, such as Donburis(rice bowl topped with something else such as chicken, pork). They made this into a really nice and spacious restaurant! A few booths on the wall, some tables in the centre, and seats by the sushi counter as well. Nice clean place, 3 sushi man, a few servers(could barely manage a busy lunch hour, but did offer nice service). I was pretty impressed with the menu selection, offering a la carte options of all sorts of sushi, side dishes(edamame, etc), mains, besides of their lunch and dinner boxes. Reasonable price for a really nice meal, lots of food, nice presentation, delicious! This might be my new favourite sushi place in the area!
