Been to other locations before, and this one seems okay. Was greeted upon entering and was advised to seat myself. The tea that was served was not super hot, more like luke warm. Waited about 2 mins for someone to take my order. The food came fast and temperature was sufficient. The food tasted the same as other locations, so no complaints there. Fast food, good location, ample parking available. Nothing negative to say.

Customer service is quite literally non-existent in this restaurant. Not subpar or mediocre, just non-existent. I had been here a few times and the food is decent and inexpensive($ 9 – 10 for phở), but the service is abysmal — I had difficulty flagging down a waiter to place an order, nobody bothered to check on us after the food was delivered, and we had to ask twice for our tea to be refilled. We wanted to order more during the meal but nobody seemed to care so we decided against it. Had this been my first time here, I would also be confused as to where to pay because no one informed me that I have to go up to the front, or even how much my bill was. Needless to say, zero tip. Why should I pay for service I did not receive? Next time I will go to the food court — same shit with a little friendlier customer service.

Phở: I can strongly smell the spice pack that they use. The portions vary depending on whether they are busy. Sometimes there are barely any meat in the soup, at other times it is overflowing. Noodles are good consistency. Service: Okay service for a Vietnamese restaurant. Nothing that warrants above and beyond tipping. Price: They have been increasingly the price steadily. Currently $ 9 for a bowl. Cleaniness: It is okay for a Vietnamese restaurant.

Guy openly rubs snotty nose with hand, serves me my bowl of phở with FINGER in the bowl, and with soup sloshing all about onto the table because he had a crappy attitude. When I paid and didn’t tip, he had the audacity to say, «NOTIP??» Uh. NO, dude.

The good: well ventilated so you don’t smell like phở when you leave. The bad: soup base is just salty. The cilantro and basil in the soup added some flavor however it lacks the beef taste and aroma that one is accustom to with phở.

Inexpensive and consistent phở. The dishes aren’t out of this world, but at $ 6-$ 8 a bowl, it’s hard to really go wrong. Service has always been good whenever I’ve eaten here. They serve«the usual» type of dishes — phở, spring rolls, summer rolls, Vietnamese subs, rice and vermicelli bowls(chicken, beef, pork, shrimp). Several smoothie options. If you’re looking for something decent and relatively cheap, I’d recommend this place. Open till 12am usually.

5-star rating because it is exactly as advertised/expected when you walk in the door. Fast, inexpensive, consistent Phở. We visit for lunch during the workweek, and fast service means we get back to work quickly. Recommended for a quick, filling lunch.

Vancouver is filled with so many great Viet restuarants. unfortunately, this isn’t one of them. This was always the go-to place for me back in the day, because it was cheap and 5 minutes away from my house. While its not a terrible bowl of noodle soup — the soup is missing the intensity of the broth. Really weak tasting bowl of phở, pretty flat. There are several other great Viet restaurants in the lower mainland, don’t bother stopping by this place! Also, while others complain that its dirty… yeah its not the best. But there are lots of other hole in the wall dirty restaurants which serve really great food. So if you’re not easily turned off by that stuff, then venture on!

A popular choice as evidenced by the number of customers, but unfortunately not a very well-deserved one. The portion sizes are small — I ordered large noodles and still wasn’t full. This seems to be the trend with this restaurant chain — big price, small portions. Compare against Thai son in Vancouver and the difference in quality and quantity is dramatic.

This resto has variety working in its favour. The menu is extensive and well laid-out with pictures for those who aren’t fluent in Vietnamese fare. My friend, who has never been for Vietnamese before, was pretty happy with her lemongrass chicken. It was quite weak on fragrance/flavour, but well portioned. However, for folks who have tried a good cross-section of Vietnamese fare, the food itself was pretty mediocre. Phở was pricey, scant on meat, lukewarm, and broth was flat and one-dimensional. They appear to have expediting issues, as my coworkers’ meals came out 15 mins before mine, and tables that arrived after us were served their meals first. Do not come here if you’re on a lunch break unless you’re ok with waiting 30mins for a bowl of phở!

This place has decent food but just horrible customer service and it’s dirty. I am not expecting a fine dining experience when I go to a Phở restaurant, I just want some good Phở soup, a(relatively) clean environment and prompt service. We arrived and it was relatively quiet. We were quickly shown a table, we sat down and noticed the table still had scraps from the previous people(EW!). The staff were too busy chatting and laughing with each other to notice; even when we poured some tea on the table and cleaned it with napkins, they never offered to come over to see what was wrong or clean(I am not sure if they ignored the issue or if they were too busy chatting with each other). After cleaning we took a look at hte menu. We had to flag down a waitress to order; we ordered two bowls of soup and Vietnamese coffee. While we were waiting for food, I noticed that they a) didn’t help any other diners, b) spent the entire time talking to each other with their backs to customers. Again, I don’t expect a fine dining experience but do your freaking job! Our food arrived and it was actually pretty decent. Unfortunately the coffee didn’t arrive until after we were done our food(we had to remind the waitress about our coffee, instead of making the coffee while the soup was being done, she was busy chatting… laughing with her friends). It made my blood boil. Never going back.

Considering how cheap this place is, it’s pretty good. They have a lot of items on their menu and I’ve always enjoyed eating here. The service isn’t the best, and you have to go into it knowing that it’s not the most upscale of venues, but when my friends and I are broke, we love going to this place because you can get a huge bowl of phở for $ 5, and it’s really not too shabby. They also have smoothies and they are really good! I wish they had this phở place closer to my place, although I can’t complain because Bao Qi is pretty exceptional.

Great for a quick and tasty meal. Plenty to choose from from noodle bowls to rice plates. Lemon grass chicken and pork are the most popular but the rolls are not far behind. How can you go wrong when it is so reasonable.

Phở I love the stuff. Too bad the phở here is just passible. The phở you get to go is even worse. Service can be okay to bad. I can’t comment on the washrooms as I’ve never used them. Décor is whatever. I can’t complain for the price but the soup is disappointing. The vietnamese friend I brought here said it was not the worst he had tried, and basically disappointing soup, and agreed the drinks are the best part of the meal. Too bad there isn’t more phở in the area. However, the drinks here are excellent so if you get stuck eating phở here get one of the drinks to make up for the less than stellar meal. I think the slushies and things I’ve had here might bump up this place to 2 ½ stars for me but don’t expect polite service, and don’t get things to go. This is definitely not my favorite place.

It’s phở but kind of on the expensive side. Spring rolls come out fast but are kinda soggy sometimes so they don’t always make to order.

Phở 99 used to be the go-to place for my friends and I back in high school following hockey games. Who can complain about quick bites for an affordable price? However, that was years ago. Since high school, I’ve eaten at several other phở restaurants around the lower mainland and, naturally, I’ve ranked my experiences from good to bad. I had no complaints about Phở 99 then, but now that I’ve created a standard for myself, I can say that Phở 99 would be among the dirtiest places I’ve eaten at. Beginning with the restaurant: It is dirty. Almost everywhere you walk you can feel that the ground is sticky. The tables(assuming they were wiped) are also sticky and prompts you to wash your hands in the bathroom(also dirty). At one point I saw a staff member drop bean sprouts on the ground and ignored it. The staff are impolite and speak loudly to one another in front of patrons as if they don’t exist(i.e. yelling from opposite ends of the restaurant). They pay little attention to diners and no one checks up on you to see if you need more tea or sides. The phở was nothing special. Warm bowl of soup(wasn’t even hot), took a while for my meat to cook and the noodles look like they were sitting in the bowl prior to my arrival. Flavours were sub-par and my mouth was left with an odd aftertaste. There is not way I will return to Phở 99 for the reasons mentioned above, but if you feel the need to eat here, I suggest doing so at your own risk.(Your stomach might hate you for it!)

Ack! Never again. This place just oozes sketchiness. With so many places for amazing phở in Vancouver, I won’t be coming back here. Their soup base wasn’t hot enough and didn’t cook the beef flank properly. One of my dining companion’s meat didn’t cook at all. Even when they added in more hot broth, it was still very pink. What if he got sick? The noodles themselves were fairly standard and decent. The broth didn’t have much flavour and wasn’t hot enough. I avoided the meat once I saw that it wasn’t cooking properly. Never again.

Phở 99 serves simple standard Phở for really affordable prices. Having said that, I normally order don’t order the noodles and go straight for combo 67(which everyone should try! because it consist of two sunny up egg, lemon grass chicken and some side salad and a bowl of soup… it use to come up with spring rolls, but now you have to pay extra. :(However, it still cost less than $ 10! It’s becomes a tradition of mine to go there for a late meal after a long trip from the states. They close late and nobody ever notices when I shuffle in looking like a zombie, having come from a 6 – 7 hour car ride. It satisfies the tummy and i go home very happy.

Located right on the corner of North Road and Lougheed Hwy, and inside a plaza with many other eating options, I came, cause I wanted some Phở, and I was in the area. I have come here before, and I must say that the taste has gotten a lot better. They have a standard menu, with a number of choices of phở, and also rice dishes. For a franchise restaurant, this one is actually pretty good. The area inside is nice and big, the parking is another thing though, as when this plaza gets busy, there are no spots to park, which usually means, if your not circling to find a spot. your parking far off and walking in!
