Almost weekly I order a medium donair with cheese and no veg! It’s hands down the best donair in the city. Their garlic fingers are amazing as well! I think the part that makes Hungry Hut 5 stars is the service. I think it’s a family owned business… But they really take the time to get to know you. They care! I had a broken hand during Christmas so I ordered delivery a lot and the delivery driver was so kind!!! I also love the way they always answer the phone… «Hungry huuuuut» :)

Best Donair pizza around. Good salads too. The staff get to know you. Clean and sparse. What else do you want from your local pizza joint?

Awesome pizza, awesome service — only downside, they have one driver so you might be out of luck if you live outside their delivery zone. Which I do. I used to order from Ronnies-2-for-1, but after reading a couple reviews about HH, I thought I’d switch it up. Glad I did! Not only does this place have cheaper prices but it tastes pretty effin’ good! Usually go for the medium pizza, medium gf and a 2L of pop. $ 24 taxes in. Can’t beat that deal! And the people that work there are just so incredibly nice. They’re very appreciative of your patronage and apologized profusely when I mentioned I wish they would deliver to my place. :( Check’em out!

Never ate their pizza, but we popped in for a grease fix one day after a late night. The burgers and fries hit the spot. This is a family owned spot with ties to north end Halifax Toulany’s(think: donairs) so it seems like everyone who pops in to the place knows the family. I really enjoyed the chat with the owners while we were there. They work hard and churn it right out. We arrived around 2 pm, but it was really steady busy with take out orders.

Recently at work we decided to order a pizza lunch from Hungry Hut after doing some fundraising. We settled on a Hawaiian pizza and garlic fingers, and they were both really solid. The value is good, with big portions for the price and no one went hungry. The donair sauce for the garlic fingers was definitely on the sweet side — and there was lots of it! You can customize your pizza toppings and they have 4 sizes to choose from which is great so you can get enough for your group. I’d absolutely order from here again.

Hungry Hut has never disappointed since I became familiar with the restaurant a few years ago. I am not a huge fan of pizza in general(it usually makes me feel sick and guilty), but I will gladly throw those feelings aside for an order of their delicious garlic fingers, which are covered in cheese and cooked to a turn. My partner is a big fan of their pizza, which he orders covered in various types of meat. I took a bite one day and had to agree that it was pretty darn good. Hungry Hut subs and sandwiches are also worth checking out, as the portions are quite generous, and I have heard that their donairs are decent too. Perhaps one of the nicest things about ordering from Hungry Hut — especially in person — is that the family who runs the place is comprised of lovely, friendly people. If only all businesses could take a page from the HH customer service book, I am certain that there would be far fewer 1 and 2 star reviews on Unilocal

Little places off the beaten path are always good to find, although experiences may vary. I stopped in while I was in the area running errands and found the staff to be quite friendly. Having ordered a double cheeseburger, I found a seat to wait. The great part is that they would chat, if casually while the burger was being prepared. The food itself was nice, juicy and flavourful; although the patties were on the thin side. Regardless, it made for a good experience. Not the most memorable dining, but far from being the worst.

I’ve heard good things about this place but I was really disapointed :(Super generic crust, very small selection of toppings. I wouldn’t go back.

I’m not usually a pizza eater, and the little pizza I did eat was strictly pepperoni and bacon. Then my friend promised me that one slice of their Hawaiian pizza would change my mind, and she wasn’t kidding. Theirs isn’t some wimpy slice with a meager amount of ham and canned pineapples. No, this pizza, like every other kind of pizza we’ve had from there, is loaded with cheese, toppings, and lots of flavor. The family that owns and operates the Hungry Hut are some of the warmest, kindest people, too. Walking in there to get your pizza means you’re guaranteed a happy greeting and some nice conversation. Plus, if you pick it up in person, you can also stock up on girls night in staples lke pop, chips, and candy bars. My only gripe is that they only accept cash on delivery, but that just means you learn quickly to keep a stash of emergency Hungry Hut cash on hand.

Best Hawaiian Pizza EVER. Now, I don’t know if this is because my friend ALWAYS orders her pizza there, and they make it especially for her, or whether all their pizzas are so amazing. We ordered an extra large Hawaiian pizza on multiple occasions and all were awesome. At one point there were so many toppings that the middle of the box was drooping. I wish they would deliver to Halifax, as this is where my apartment is. My friends apartment has now become the official destination for pizza nights, as we only want to order from here.
