I really want to love this place, there food is so delish. My favorite item is roasted chicken with a feta spinach cream sauce, however, they will only make this dish as a special on some Fridays, it is a shame because its sooo yummy its all I want to eat it should be on the menu permanently. The bad; its small and cramped and does not have very good service. I have been here about 6 times and every time I was not satisfied with service the servers are always snotty, unaccommodating, very slow and there’s a select few that are so painfully unintelligent you can’t even ask them a question. Another odd point to make is that I have been there at around 7pm on a Friday and they were closed, do they just close the doors and go home if there’s not enough business?

In one of adventures in eating out, my fiancé and I along with his sister and her boyfriend decided to try this restaurant. It was a newer location, as they already have one in Halifax. We went on a Friday night, when we first arrived it was not too busy – though that quickly changed. The décor of the restaurant was pretty plain, and tdhe layout made any section of the restaurant seem really isolated. The first strike was the fact this location had a group booking that night and some of the main options were not available to the main dinning room. From a restaurant and business perspective, I found that utterly unacceptable. The kitchen should have prepared adequate prep levels to accomodate both the group and walk-in customers. Furthermore, a group of 20 — 30 should have been required to pre-order. The server we had was probably one of the worst servers I’ve dealt with in this city. He had little people skills, and was not attentive to our table. None of us ordered appetizers, just mains. From the time we placed our order, till we actually recieved our meals was unacceptably long: nearly an hour. Our server was no where to be found and did not come back to check on us. When the food finally arrived it was a huge dissapointment. All of the dishes lacked flavour, and even basic seasoning. My fiancé, Anthony, had a «greek» chicken breast with rice. The chicken was horribly over cooked, and the only thing greek about the dish was the tiny side of greek salad. I had lamb soluvaki, which was under seasoned and had zero flavour. There was nothing greek about any of our meals. Everything was overcooked, not seasoned and flavourless. I would not recommmend this restaurant to anyone, save your money and go somewhere that serves good food!

After reading the reviews here on Unilocal,my boyfriend and 2 other diners ventured here for a new experience and to have a nice dinner(about a month ago). When we arrived we were sat way in the back in a corner by a door and a plant. The table seemed quite small for the four of us, but we were the only diners back there at the time so it was nice. On this night, the whole other half of the restaurant was booked for some sort of function. We were told there was no salmon and something else(I cannot recall) left because the function had pre-ordered it all. I thought to myself, that’s fine but there should have been more available for other dining guests since they had plenty of notice. I ordered the stuffed chicken in phyllo, with greek salad(no onions), rice and potatoes. My boyfriend was shocked over the prices so he only ordered an appetizer of spanikopita. It took a long time to get our food, and by this time a large group of women sat next to our table and it was quite distracting. The tables were way too close together. Honestly, my meal was fine other than the chicken being slightly dry. It was awkward to eat the chicken with a knife and fork, but I managed. Also my Greek salad had onions in it but they were big so I picked them out. The potatoes were very yummy. My boyfriends appetizer was way overdone(like it had been made first and sat under a hot lamp until our meals were ready) and he did not enjoy it. The other two diners at our table also greatly disliked their meals and made sure the server knew. The server apologized but that was about it. We left disappointed, and will not be returning, at least not to this location.

I already have a 5-star love affair going on with the original IAGTM location, so I expect nothing less at this location. Since I’ve only experienced take out, I am at a 4-star — pretty good for a seamless interaction that had me eating my delicious dinner a little more than 30 minutes after placing the order(and I live on the peninsula!). The food was great(as usual) and the service was spot on. Ordered and picked up within 30 minutes flat.(They quoted 20 min, so I was a bit tardy.) And, as someone who doesn’t like to opt for takeout because of the potential less-than-awesome experience — I mean, who enjoys soggy, badly packaged food, anyway? — this was a perfect experience. Food is well packaged, and ready to go! Looking forward to dining in.

The food and service were great! I liked it better than Opa. Everything was bursting with flavor and it was all so fresh. The service was great and the food came out really fast. When you purchase a gift certificate or when it’s your birthday, they smash a plate outside on the sidewalk. It was fun to watch. I recommend it to anyone!

Fast, friendly service, great prices! I loved it here! We didn’t realize they started you off with bread before your entrée. So, we ordered the Melizanosalata dip; it consists of eggplant, garlic and olive oil. It was delicious, but, very garlicy. If you are on a date I would suggest not ordering it. For an entrée I had the chicken souvlakia. It got served with greek salad, greek potatoes and rice!!! It was alot of food, but everything was so good.

Great balls of fire! If you get the chance to check this place out, do yourself a favour and order the«Flaming Saganaki». No exaggeration, the flames touched the roof for a brief second. And the cheese… sooo delicious. Any place that #1 lights things on fire #2 lets you smash plates(gift certificates are stuck to plates that when redeemed you smash) #3 serves beer from their country(alfa Greek beer) gets high scores in my books. The food was amazing, our server was fantastic, and the décor is very bright and cheerful. Paintings from Greece on the walls, blue and white décor, linen table cloths, fireplace in the center of the room. A little on the pricey side, but well worth the money. They have a private room you can book for parties as well. Wi-fi is password protected, we didn’t ask if it was available. Another thing to add: wheel chair accessible, they even have a separate sink in the accessible toilet at the proper height!

I got food here just before the end of the year. A group of us did a take out order, each getting Souvlaki(Chicken and pork). I’ll start with the positives: the lemon potatoes were tasty and they served it with rice as well(Jasmine perhaps, maybe Basmati) — I’m not sure if two simple starches were necessary. Also, I enjoyed the tzatziki. The good ends there. We waited 5 or more minutes at the front of the restaurant before anyone spoke to us when we arrived. A couple of folks noticed us but did not do anything about it. When someone did come they were friendly enough, but nothing to write about(oops, I suppose I’m doing that now!). More importantly, the salad seemed a little small and the Souvlaki screws had tiny bits of meat on them that were over cooked! My pork was a little over cooked; but, the chicken was basically burnt! I love most all types of food and have enjoyed Greek food all over the city(Palladium, Opa!, Athens, etc.) and for me this did not even rate amongst them as worth to try again. Perhaps it was take out versus eat in. That said all food should be the same quality and quantity; perhaps, even more critical with take out as you cannot impress with superior customer service, the food does all the talking!

I paid my second visit to the Dartmouth location of It’s All Greek to Me this evening. I love Greek food. I’ve been to Greece twice, and have had some of the best meals of my life there. When it comes to Greek food, I mean business. Tonight’s meal did not disappoint. I started off with the tyropita — phyllo pastry filled with feta. It was good, but not the tastiest I’ve had. For my entrée I got the special of the day — beef tenderloin souvlaki. So good. Tender and flavourful chunks of tenderloin served with a fresh Greek salad, rice and oven-roasted potatoes. The servings are quite large, yet I managed to polish most of it off. It was a delicious meal. My main recurring complaint with either location of It’s All Greek to Me is the tzatziki is a little on the bland side. However, if you’re on a date, this may work to your advantage. One of my besties gave me a gift certificate to this restaurant for Christmas, which I used to pay for my meal. Fun tidbit: Their gift certificates are plates(there’s a sticker attached with the amount and gift certificate #). When you’re done eating, you are escorted to an area outside where you are encouraged to throw your plate to the ground and yell«Opa!» as it smashes to pieces. So liberating! Our server was super friendly, and the atmosphere is typical of a Greek restaurant — lots of blue and white, with paintings of Greece on the walls. However, it’s nicely done and well put together. The Greek music playing softly adds to the pleasant ambiance.
