The sound of shattered, fragile things raining down over the tiled floor always reminds me of Stokes. The place is chock full of glass, crystal, china, and other breakables, and it’s not uncommon to witness fallen soldiers exploding all over the place.
Stokes is definitely the place to avoid if you’re an impulse shopper, like me. You’ll almost always wind up walking away with not only some kitchen gadget you didn’t need, but also with one of the «sale with purchase» items at the cash.
But if you’re stuck and needing a gift idea, then this is definitely the place to check out. The place is crammed from floor to ceiling with neat tools and great gifts. Try a wine opener, they’ve got a dozen varieties. Or how about a roasting pan that doubles as a lasagna dish? Need stocking stuffer ideas? They have awesome lunchbag items like portable utensils and tupperware that keeps your milk and cereal seperate until you get to your desk. From standard tea kettles to quirky salt and pepper shakes, this place will fit the bill for any gift recipient on your list.
Due to the cramped size of the place, though, I always feel mindful of my person when I walk around Stokes. I’m a little on edge until I walk out without having knocked over a table of wine glasses. Although they’ve been in that spot for years and I always visit when I’m in the mall, I would enjoy my visits much more if they moved to a larger location that gave more space to browse their wares.

They have a huge selection of kitchen, dining and décor products. Sure, the stuff all looks great but they also have great utility.
Three different kinds of vegetable peelers? They’ve got them. One-​egg skillets? They’ve got them! Lots of different salt and pepper shakers? They’ve got them! Snakes & Ladders shot glass game? They’ve got it!
…okay that last one may be less functional but it’s still great.
The space may be small but it’s jam-​packed with a wide assortment of products and usually at a great price. Staff are friendly, helpful and plentiful!

Stokes is a kitchen store located on the middle level of Mic Mac Mall.
They sell various kitchen items with a real focus on décor and have everything from plates and cutlery to place-​mats, candles, oven timers, canisters and wine glasses.
They also have a gift registry for couples getting married, and always have lots of Christmas themed products around the holidays.
What I don’t particularly enjoy about Stokes is that I find the store crowded and can never seem to take in all their products. Also, with their return policy, items must be returned within 30 days for a full money refund.
Overall, not a bad place to shop, especially when at a loss for gift ideas.
