Swiss chalet food is very consistent and good. However the service in this location is the worst. Not once did the waitress come back to ask how the meal was or refill drinks. The building is old and literally has pieces falling off the building. This location should be avoided at all costs. I’d say drive through only hit even that seems to take forever!

Worst wait time ever, took an hour before we got our food, when we asked about when the food would be out, the mgmt team was very defensive and surly. I had to ask for rolls to be brought to the table, they weren’t even offered after the mgmt was told our party of five was starving. They screwed up our orders. Will not be back.

Bottom line: don’t eat here. Eat your couch cushions again. I would give this negative stars if I could. We used to order delivery from the Swiss Chalet in Bedford all the time. Our food always came hot and the orders were right. One time we placed an order online and got a call immediately after saying they were running behind and were 50 minutes instead of 45. We placed an order for delivery from the Main St. location 5:30pm. By 6:30, I got a little anxious and called to see if they were having trouble finding our place. Nobody answered. At 6:45, I called again and after being put on hold twice and waiting 6 minutes on the phone, the manager said the delivery driver left 45 minutes ago. He said if it was 10 minutes more, he would give it to us free. It was 10 minutes more, but the delivery driver had no idea what he was talking about. I didn’t sign the credit card receipt but I still have to haggle with the restaurant to have it taken off. The food was cold, rubbery and under-cooked. We had pink meat. We didn’t eat any of it.

Went with my mother and my son. There was barely anyone in the restaurant. Asked if we could sit somewhere away from the door cause I had a young child with me and it was –29° outside. Was refused because of «fire regulations» with the highchair. This made zero sense. Spoke to manager. He was extremely rude and refused to give us another seat. Just to clarify. We hadn’t even sat yet. We were still at the entrance. We left and went to Swiss chalet in Dartmouth crossing. Had a chance to speak to their manager and he couldn’t believe what happened and said the«fire regulations» excuse wasn’t true as there are more than 2 tables that allow high chairs.

Bottom line: Great food and family-oriented atmosphere. Reccomended. My boyfriend and I received coupons in the mail for a «two can dine» deal from Swiss Chalet and decided to take advantage. It was decently priced and even though they were EXTREMELY busy, we were waited on almost instantly, drinks came right away, and we had our food within 20 minutes! The only downside was that it was very loud in there, and lots of kids(which still wasn’t that bad). If you’re looking for a quiet romantic dinner date then I would pick another spot, but otherwise it was great!

If you like rotisserie chicken, Swiss Chalet is a good standby option. The restaurant itself could use a little freshening up, with wider booths, but it’s clean and bright. Service is friendly, although on my past few visits, it’s been slow whether the restaurant is full or not. As it’s a chain, their food is standardized across the board. I find their perogies to be salty but a good app. Their rotisserie chicken is always moist and tasty. On my last visit, I tried their new hickory chicken flat bread, and it was very good. Their fries are tasty, but I stick to the salad. I like that the dressing comes on the side, but there’s always way more than what you need. Next time you’re here, see if you can spot the lone artistic ceiling tile.

As far as Swiss Chalets go, this one is my favourite of the few I’ve been to. Always seems to be busy and the staff is usually very fast, efficient and friendly and the atmosphere is a little more cozy then newer locations. I go once or twice a year, definitely have to go near Christmas for the Festive Special. I love the fries and generally the chicken is done properly, good seasoning, no pink or not dried out. I even like the dipping sauce. I have had the chichken with a side of salad instead of fries and it was fine, certainly weight loss friendly, but decided that I go so rarely and love the fries so much that I would allow myself the indulgence of fries. I don’t stray to much from the basic quarter chicken dinner with white meat but have tried the chichen spring rolls which, IMO, are very good. I’ll keep going for my annual visit at the very least.

Went here on boxing day this year with 16 others of my boyfriends family. We were the first there when it opened at 12pm. The last time I was at this Swiss Chalet location was for grade 9 Christmas Semi dinner with friends(so like 10+ years ago). Our server was pretty quick in getting everyones drink orders, and food orders. I ordered the hickory chicken flatbread with fries. Most others ordered either the festive meal, or the ribs and chicken combo. My flatbread was okay, it didn’t blow me away but can’t really expect that from any large chain restaurant. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals. I probably wouldn’t come back(I have other restaurants I’d rather go to over Swiss Chalet) but I have two 2 can dine coupons to use that we got with the festive meals.

Great restaurant, I really like their chicken wings! But it’s really struggling thing to order from the phone… I give four star for the food!

Swiss Chalet on main street is probably one of the older locations. Taking the Bf out for supper one day I chose Swiss as I am a chicken lover. I must say one of the best things is the service it is always fast and friendly. Quick to retrieve if you ask for something but not to the point that they hover. As an appetizer I ordered the chicken spring rolls with dipping sauce and he has wings. I loved the chicken spring rolls as they were nice and crispy and had a great inside. The wings I am really not a lover as I find them almost wet. Overall the experience at Swiss was great and yes I would always return. I did find it a bit pricey as it was about $ 53 bucks with meal but I guess I am not used to paying.

Swiss Chalet on Main Street is part of a chain of franchised restaurants throughout Canada specializing in rotisserie chicken and family dining. I’ve been to the Swiss Chalet on numerous occasions and I’ve found the following to be true about it: — Swiss Chalet makes some of the best(hand-cut) french fries in town — Their chicken is always great every time I go(consistent quality) –I’ve loved everything I’ve tried on their menu except for the chicken stir-fry which I only liked –The ribs are great, but on the odd occasion you may get a dry rack –The food always tastes better when you dine-in than when you order delivery –The dipping sauce is great and is low in fat –The Chalet Chicken Soup and Sandwich is especially great on a cold or wet day
