Service was terrible. Our server couldn’t be bothered to spend more than ½ a second at our table making me feel not welcomed at all. upwards of 15 minutes between visits from our server where she would start the conversation and be halfway to another table before any reply. She did make an effort to let the table know how her last job was much better than this one. Appetizers came out at the same time as the entrees. Food was very lackluster needing a fair amount of salt to have a distinguishable taste. Beer tasted good but it’s hard to get beer wrong especially for a company that has their own beer line. only thing good about the atmosphere is that we were outside and not inside in the dark and dreary restaurant. To top it off, the server insulted my company on the way out as I was personally giving her a tip. will never come back and will never recommend.

This is a Brewsters. Neither better nor worse than any other Brewsters/Brew House/Hudsons type bar. I come to these types of chain bars with a set expectation of what they are. And if it what it is then it’s ok with me. Cheap beer and wings on Tuesdays(theres’s a different feature everyday of the week), lots of TVs, lots of seating, lots of parking, friendly staff, a little loud, food is hit and miss, drinks are always on point, bathrooms are nice. I have no complaints and will continue to be a regular customer. It’s a chain bar, expect that and you’ll be A-OK.

New Years day lunch with the restaurant only about half full. Our server promptly brought the menu and our drink orders. I ordered the Dark ale which was supposed to be a «proper pint» 20 oz. as told by the server. It definitely was not 20 oz. I ordered the beef dip which lacked beef and a small cup of au jus that I had to nurse to make it last. Why are they so skimpy with a packaged au jus recipe. Anyway about 1 hour after lunch I had a queasy stomach which then turned nasty and without adding graphic detail a few unpleasant bathroom breaks were required. Needless to say my day was a no-go after that. A return visit to any Brewsters is not in the cards.

We came here for dinner last night and I thought the food was just OKAY except for the mud pie. That was REALLY good. It had chocolate crumb crust, chocolate gelato, espresso shavings, chocolate drizzle and a dollop of whipped cream. My husband enjoyed his meatloaf and Mac and cheese. I was underwhelmed by my Brewster burger and sweet potato fries. Something about it didn’t hit the spot. If I were to come here again, I would definitely get the pie again and a side of wings.

We’ve been here a few times… The Caesar salad is tasty; but extremely expensive for the small amount you get… The Short Rib dinner is bursting with flavors… The kids meals is average; stay away from kids dessert(ice cream over a warm chocolate chip cookie) the cookie is rancid(very off) Tastes like burnt plastic?

Brewsters on 23rd ave and 111street used to be our go to place for brunch and would often bring new comers to the city here because of the service, food, atmosphere and of course, the beer. Over the last year this has place has progressively fallen out of favour with us due to the service — which is sad bc it has potential and is in a great location. Today was the icing on top — we waited 15 – 20 minutes(when it was practically dead) for someone to notice us and take our order… we ended up leaving and going to Original Joe’s in Terwillegar.

I’m a little on the fence about Brewsters(debating between 2 and 3 stars). On one hand, the service/servers were fine and not really anything to complain about(though I do hate when they bring the machine at the same time as the bill). But their drink prices SUCK(to them, a deal is a $ 6 pint, and it just goes upwards from there), and because they only have their in-house brews, the selection isn’t great either. Some of their in-house brews are alright(I like the brown ale) but they’re all fairly generic. Before they did the last great menu change, their beer menu was a lot larger and they had more rotating taps, but they seem to have forsaken this model. Sometimes they’ll have an extra brew or two over their normal line-up, but not very often. Their food is so so. In terms of my most recent experience at this particular location, I ordered the Mango Chicken Quesadilla. It was already cold when it got to me. It comes with a(tiny) side of guacamole, which was already tinged brown when it came to me. Flavour-wise, it was nothing to write home about. The chicken inside was cold and dry. It certainly didn’t come from a chicken breast(unless is was extremely overcooked) — just those packages of pre-cut chicken grossness. In terms of other experiences, I’ve had a steak salad with raw steak(when I ask for medium rare. that means a little pink. not rare), stuff cold on multiple occasions, etc. Writing this review made my choice — 2 stars it is.

Really dropped the ball. Went before the ACDC concert. They were badly understaffed. 50 minutes after ordering a drink, still did not receive it. Had to choke down my pre cooked, burnt wings without one. After cancelling my drink order, it still appeared on the bill. Server casually gave me a story about the keg being changed, and the line needing to be cleaned… Nice try, Vanessa.

Our meal this time was not so good. Had the minestrone soup with the burger and my visitor had minestrone soup as a meal. The soup was inedible and looked like something regurgitated. It was so salty and had bacon bits and some green looking lettuce like greens and this salty brown packaged broth. Told the waitress twice. Even told her to inform the cook. She did not offer to deduct it off the bill. So disappointed. The applewood burger was OK but too much BBQ sauce and pickle juice dripped all over the bun. Put the pickle on the side please. Otherwise the atmosphere is nice and open. There is a dining side and a lounge side. Modern feel and a selection of beers. But I am so mad I haven’t been back.

With all the times we have been to this Brewster’s over the years they have never failed to impress. The food is delicious, the service is amazing, and the beer… Ohhhhh the BEEEEER is soooo nummy, nummy, in my tummy. They brew their own, and have a huge selection. I definitely recommend trying the sample platter. However, if you are not a beer person, then I have found that the reds they have in their wine cellar are delicious. Even the house red is a very nice blend of mostly malbec and some pinot(I think). The secondary wine really smooths out and gives a nice balance to the malbec.

I love their Portobello Mushroom burger! The staff at this location are very nice and always greet my husband and I with a smile. Great addition to the neighborhood.

The food here is always consistent, but in find the service spotty. When they get really busy, things seem to get very slow, and there is rarely anyone at the front when we walk in, so we usually end up waiting for the hostess to even appear before we can be seated. This was our go to spot for dinner with my husband’s nana when we went to visit her, but she recently informed my mother in law, who told us, that she was having a hard time hearing the conversation when we went in. It can be a little noisy on the restaurant side, especially during peak hours, so it may not adobe the best place for people who are hard of hearing or require the use of a hearing aid.

As we waited and waited for our food to be served, we had plenty of time to decide that we never need to come here again. Maybe our mistake was that we weren’t after beer and wings? Or maybe we showed up too hungry? In any case, it was one big disappointment. Famished as we were, we ordered an appetizer(gyoza), and 20 mins later, we asked after it. The waitress said that she had run it through at the same time as our mains because I «hadn’t been specific.» Perhaps she’s right. The only thing that I had specified was that we were STARVING! Perhaps I wasn’t clear enough on that point? When the food finally did appear, we were so disappointed. Everything looked and tasted like it had been sitting there getting soggy for at least 10 minutes. The gyoza was lukewarm and served with a sweet chili sauce(WHY??? Could this place get any whiter?) I also tried their Thai soup, which, instead of a Thai soup, turned out to be some kind of strange and excessively-salty curried chowder. I’m not sure what they did to it, but it wasn’t good. Now, maybe it’s not fair to expect a pub to serve good Thai soup and gyoza, but you would think that they would be able to handle a burger. Nope. The burger showed up lukewarm, too. When we asked for it to be put back on the grill, they did so, but it came back not much hotter, plunked back on the same plate, looking even soggier than before. Had our waitress been nicer or even marginally apologetic, I probably woudn’t be writing this review. But as I watched her for the fourth time wander off to have a conversation with one of her buddies before getting what we’d asked for, I knew that Unilocal was the only thing that could save this day…

You really can’t go wrong here. Everything on the menus is good, great drink specials and the raspberry beer is fantastic!

Me and Brewsters get a long just fine. Their drinks are great, especially their beer, and their food is awesome. The best part about this place is that they have a no-kids side and are open super late and it’s generally pretty easy to get in. If you go, try the raspberry beer, blueberry beer, and the mixed berry beer. Also, since you are there to drink with friends, you might as well go ahead order a Caesar since they make them like they know what their doing.

Brewsters is a great spot on the southside to meet up with friends for a beer, or nine. I have spent hours on here on numerous occasions, and I’ve always had a good time. The last time I was here we had terrible service, but the waitress may have been having an off night. The manager apologized to us and bought us a round of drinks. All was right in the world!

Yes i am a fan of brewsters! Love the menu options and the food is great! Prices are fair and i like the atmosphere. Service is a lil touch and go but honestly the worst location for service is Oliver Square. Ive always had a prob with the service there and believe me i’m not the only one! Howvever, all other locations i’ve been to have been fine! Will go anytime. the food and beer are definitely the motivation.

I used to work for a brewery; and because of this, I’m a bit of a beer snob. It opened my taste buds to the fact that beer can be more than just consumed: it can be tasted. Last week I found myself at Brewsters. I’ve been to Brewsters before, but this time I tried 2 pints I’ve never tried before… Czech Pilsner — This is a nice pilsner with a notable hoppy feel and taste to it. It’s brewed with saaz hops, which are grown in the Czech Republic. I’m taking a wild guess here, and saying that was the inspiration for its name. Hammerhead Red Ale — I’m a big fan of ales. I like their sweetness, and the Hammerhead was just right. It had a classy red tint to it and a nice foam head. If you’re a fan of ales, I recommend this one. The servers were kind and attentive, and they seemed to know what they were talking about when advising on which pints to try. Football games and basketball games were clearly visible from their many large TV screens. A perfect place for a sports lover who likes to drink beer(is there any other kind?) I’m looking forward to my next pint. I’m thinking a good IPA on their patio on a hot day.

Brewster’s is a wonderful pub experience. Note, I say pub, I second Matt B.‘s observation that you’ll be disappointed if you choose this for your late night fun. I’ve never seen a dance floor at any of their locations. However, if you want to get together with buddies for the big hockey game, this is definitely an option. Brewster’s offers a huge range of beer. We’re talking at least 30 options here, with fruit beers on top of that. If you come here, get a burger — Brewster’s does them really well. A few things to keep in mind; Brewster’s is typically packed with patrons. Make sure there isn’t a long wait before you come on out. In addition, Brewster’s is a very loud location. If you seek intimacy and quiet conversation, you may be very frustrated by the noise levels. But if you and friends want a pub with great burgers and wide beer range, head down here. Just beware, it be noisy here.

I’m gonna start off with, I love Brewsters! Really establishing themselves as a trademark here in Alberta, I like to refer to Brewsters when talking about successful restaurants. They take pride in the product they serve, and that’s always on display when coming in. Should I start with the beer or food first? Because they are both great. Separating themselves from any other restaurant in Alberta. I love the wide selection of crafted beers, made by Brewsters! I’m a huge beer fan, and to get it as fresh as I can, I’m coming here! Also love that you can buy off-sales. Now as a Chef, I have the up most respect for Brewsters and their Chefs. With such a unique menu, the way they infuse beers into a lot of their dishes, I just love it. But it doesn’t stop there, Brewsters has new and interesting dishes. Like Short-rib eggs Benedict! or the Beef Dip. The Beef Dip has a pretzel bun, which you don’t see on menus in other places. So for food and beer, I give a 7 out of 5, wait, can I do that? :) Now maybe I have to high of a standard when it comes to service, but when I was in the past couple times. I felt rushed by my servers, but I wouldn’t let that knock it down. Overall Brewsters, is an amazing establishment who keep offering a great product. I look forward to my next meal here!

Not bad, not bad at all! Good location with nice ambiance. I thought it would be ridiculously loud here on a Saturday night at 10pm, as the dining room was closed and only the bar was open still, but it was actually pretty quiet. It’s not the most romantic setting I’ve ever encountered while on a date, but seemed more like an intimate restaurant than a bar, that’s for sure! Could have done without all the air conditioning — I had to keep my jacket on the entire time we were dining, and even then I was frozen. Service was pretty good, and the food and drinks we ordered came quickly. The only problem was trying to find the waitress AFTER the food was delivered — she came and asked us how it was before the first bite, and then we couldn’t find her again until after we were done eating, which was annoying because we were long out of water and drinks by this point. Burgers were ordered — the Black and Blue(chargrilled bison burger w Gorgonzola and caramelized onions) and Bacon Cheeseburger. Both were really good — lots of toppings, juicy burgers, but the buns sucked. They were chewy and flavorless, and, as they’d been toasted, actually felt a bit stale. They also weren’t the same size as the burger, which was frustrating, and in the end, I wound up abandoning mine and just eating the patty & toppings. The fries were good, but not brilliant. Ordered the Bellini to drink and it was great — sweet and VERY strong. I got a buzz by the second sip(this is why more water would have been REALLY appreciated). The bf ordered a white wine, which was pretty decent both in taste and price. All in all, a decent experience. The bill was fair for what we got, and the setting was nice. I won’t be in a hurry to head back here, but I won’t be unhappy to wind up in this Brewster’s again either.

Go team go! Need a place to watch the game? Grab a beer after the game? Brewsters is a pretty typical sportsy restaurant with lots of options like wings and nachos on the menu and giant TV screens all around. The nachos were yummy and I tried one of my comrade’s wings — not bad! Just the right amount of spicy for my tastes. Bar and kitchen close at 1 but you can hang around till 2, lamenting the latest Oilers loss or just chatting. Our server was really friendly and didn’t mind when we waited to order food until 12:45AM. She came around for last call as well, and even split up the bill without us asking. Nice touch. It’s a good place for slightly-better-than-average bar food and a great selection of beer if you live on the south side.
