I ordered the sliders and the tuna sashimi salad. They were both mouth watering. But what stood out to me was the service. The head server — i believe her name was Faye — and my own waitress Shay were extremely attentive and made me feel like a VIP guest. You will leave this place knowing you just walked out of a 5 star restaurant.

Joey’s in South Edmonton Common is a restaurant I frequent often. It is conveniently located in South Edmonton Common and has a decent parking lot. Plus, the patio in the summertime is awesome! I have always had decent food here. Today, my mom came for a visit from out of town and we stopped here for lunch. I had the California Chicken Sandwich with Yam Fries and it was good. My mom had the lettuce wraps, which are always delicious. You can get more lettuce if you need. My boyfriend had the Baja Fish Tacos and loved them. We all shared the Mezze Plate, which had baked pita chips, tzatziki, feta, olives, and red pepper hummus. Everything on the plate was delicious and the chips are refillable, which is great! I find that service can be spotty at times. I have had really great service to just okay service. Today was just okay. The server didn’t ask if I wanted a refill on my iced tea. Nor did he ask if we wanted our food boxed up. My mom forgot to ask, as we were involved in a conversation, and lost half her lettuce wraps(which to me is lost $). Despite the service, I will still come back!

Excellent meal! First visit, will absolutely go back. Service was terrific, wait staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. My husband had steak frites, very tender and tasty. I enjoyed the ½ rack of ribs with fries and a wonderful coleslaw. Our friend had the herb crusted salmon rice bowl which was wonderful!

This is my fave Joey location. I come to this location the most because I always get the best service here, particularity by Jenna when I am seated in the lounge. I’ve tried a lot of the menu. When I’m bulking I come in for the Chicken Curry, and when I am on diet I come in for the Sashimi Tuna Salad. Both delicious. I’ve tried numerous menu items and really enjoy it. Sometimes we come in with a group and just order like 10 apps and share. I like the Rainbow Roll. I also like that this location is busy so if I feel brave enough to socialize I can actually do it. We did come in last night and got accidentally overcharged, but when we noticed they refunded us with a gift card NOFUSS. I definitely appreciated that because it’s awkward coming back and getting your money back for something. They were super nice about it. I can’t wait for patio season to start! :)

Had a yummy lunch there today– Beach salad. The best salad I have had! Our waitress was so nice– my Mom told her I just found out I was pregnant and she brought me a mini sundae to celebrate! Such a sweet girl-and nice that she is allowed to treat customers to something special! Way to go Joeys!

It pains me to leave a 2 star review. Joey South Common is a 5 star restaurant. It really is. But I cannot deny that I just had a 2 star experience. I went with my girlfriends. We all got steak. They all had beautiful steaks. My steak which was ordered medium well, confirmed by the waitress ‘just a little pink in the center, right?’ came out a bloody, disgusting, off-putting mess. I tried to eat it, i couldn’t eat it and I told the waitress why not when she cleared my plate last at the very end of the meal. She offered for it to be recooked and I declined. I was already turned off by the puddle of blood on my plate. The waitress was very humble and apologetic. A Manger or lead was gracious enough to visit the table and offer an apology for my steak. We had a cheery exchange and decided on what thought was a fair offer, knock the dinner off and offer my 3 friends and I a round. Joey’s is a big presence in Edmonton. We gladly pay top prices for top quality food and service. My friends and I were spending money. We had apps, mains, desserts and the drinks were flowing. We’re regular, easy customers. Lo and behold I got my bill and was charged the full $ 29 for my absolutely inedible steak. A drink was taken off my bill, as was with my friends bills. …but I was charged for the steak. I paid $ 68 for a meal that I was unable to eat because Joey’s didn’t cook it properly. Not cool. I just can’t help but know that if had been at the Keg the meal and drinks and whatever else would have been necessary to ensure satisfaction and repeat business would have been politely taken care of. Sure I could have spoken up again. Had the steak wiped off my bill. But i had talked about it. I thought it was handled. I’m trying have a good time with my friends, I’m not here to go over issues. It should have been taken care of. And unfortunately we’ll probably make plans at the Keg next time.

It’s always insanely busy when i stop in for lunch, but I never mind waiting bc I always know I’m going to be happy with my meal! Today did not disappoint! I had the Seared Ahi Tuna Salad and inhaled it in about two bites! Also since we were on a business lunch, I skipped my usual booze drinks and had the cucumber lime Italian soda — soooo refreshing!

Went to Joey’s for the first time in a long time. Took my mother in law for her birthday dinner on boxing day. The Menu’s still pretty much the same for the last few years but it’s not bad. The service there has gone down hill though. It was boxing day and the place wasn’t even half full and our waitress named Avery pretty much dragged her feet the whole time we were there. Good thing another waitress noticed and intervened not once but 3 times asking us, oh she didn’t come back yet? Meanwhile clearing dishes and tending to our table. Had to wait 15 minutes just to get the bill. I could understand this if it was busy but for a quiet night this was quite unacceptable. It was my mother in laws first time there and she even noticed the service was not up to par for being an upper dining restauraunt experience. Didnt even gat any kind of apology or explanation for any delays. left 10 percent tip on the machine and handed the machine back to her only to hold it and wait for her to take it while she had a conversation with another staff member walking by. that was pretty much the cherry on top for me. And to think I had to convince my wife to go here instead of the other choices we had like the keg or earls or vons. Most likely will not come back here for quite awhile or a couple years, it was just one of those rare completely bad taste in your mouth kind of evenings, food was decent thanks to the staff in the back. But overall wasn’t to impressed with everything. Nice place though. Just hate the feeling of being a number and not being acknowledged when it’s apparent that the service had flaws but I guess it’s easier to just hope the customer just pays the bill and goes away and that’s the end of that round. I was tired from all the shopping we did and had no energy or time to talk to a manager and I hate being that guy unless the food was bad because I know I will just go elsewhere next time instead but hopefully things will be more professional next time anyone else goes there.

I was recently diagnosed with some food allergies and have a very difficult time dining out. Stephanie in the lounge was amazing with my issues, found me a delicious meal that didn’t make me ill, and kept the drinks rolling without being intrusive. It was fairly loud and crowded, but in the Christmas season on a Friday, it’s to be expected. Overall, one of the better restaurants in the Common.

Went to lunch with two friends on a cold and snowy day last week and we all ordered the cream of mushroom soup, along with a Caesar salad for me and a chicken sandwich for them. The soup was not only lukewarm and not fully cooked(it still had a distinctive floury taste) but it was almost $ 8 for literally about 250 ml in a large oval bowl(which made it look even chintzier, if possible) I very politely told the waitress, who agreed that they’ve had several complaints now that they started making it in house, but didn’t do anything about it. Then the manager came by and asked is about our meal and we again(politely) told her, and although she sympathized, she did NOTHING about it either lol. It was very poor customer service and honestly, I won’t be back again

Overall not bad. We went to the bar side to watch the hockey game. No they didn’t win!!! It was a bit loud for us but we’re older. We had the cauliflower appie and it was delish. Ask for the blue cheese dipping sauce. It works well and it is a mild blue cheese taste. We also had the California roll and I also recommend. The sliders were not that great. They were dry and the bun was over cooked. The meat was tasty but they needed more sauce or something. Our server Kyra and she is amazing!

We have been regulars of Joey’s SC and decided to pop in for lunch. My no.1 fav is the French dip so imagine my shock when I was told that management had remove it from the menu. I also heard that other customers complained about this. What could have been the managers motivation from removing such a popular item from the menu? I ordered another item but will reconsider another restaurant in the area when I need a beef dip fix. I hope the manager listens to customer feedback to reinstate the French Dip!

I’ve yet to have a bad experience here. The servers are very engaging and efficient. The cocktails are the reason we come here most of the time. The food is good but nothing to write home about. It’s a great place to get some drinks and appetizers and chat with friends.

I usually go to to small hidden places to eat like Millcreek Café and Fired Up BBQ as i think that they serve the best foods in the city, but JOEY in south common is not bad. Try their mini donuts and BBQ Salmon Rice Bowl, highly recommended.

Consistently sophisticated yet very casual elegant dining awaits at Joey South Common. Edmonton is filled with destination eateries and Joey doesn’t disappoint from the minute you open the door. We went for lunch and there was quite the wait list while both the Dining and lounge areas were jam Packed with business professionals on lunch. The super hot and friendly hostesses offered us sweet sparkling water in a champagne flute while we waited for our table, nice touch! A few minutes later, our table was ready and the dining room was impressively huge, filled with wall art, soaring high ceilings and a touch of comfortable swank throughout. The lounge has a massive floor-to-ceiling refrigerated wine cellar that is so high in height that the waitresses climb a left to right moving ladder to access the bottles: given their«Canada’s next top model» figure, looks and high heels, it is very Cirque-Du-soleil-ish eye candy hehe The service is exceptionally great and our food was visually appealing and very tasty. From the fire roasted half chicken with all the trimmings(and the amazing matchstick fries!) to our salads, the dishes came out fast and cooked to perfection. Everyone worked as a team as different waitresses dressed in high fashion couture with perfect long hair and make up were strutting the aisles with trays containing our soda refills What an exceptional casual and relaxed dining experience, over the top courteous and attentive service; We will definitely return!

I can’t think of a time when I was more impressed with service during a dinner rush. The place was packed but we didn’t have to wait for more than 5 minutes. The service never left us waiting for anything. The food was delicious and the prices are reasonable. I will definitely be returning.

Recently went on a Mother Son date here to Joey South Common. All the Staff was really pleasant and prompt. Talked to my son like he was human and not an annoying child. Food was delicious. We had the Salmon. Done to perfection. Only thing I would like all these trendy popular restaurants to change. Your tables are too high. The table top was at my chest and I felt like a child sitting too far back and to low to the table. I am average height and it was uncomfortable. Otherwise I recommend Joey SC to anyone. With kids or without. Great atmosphere, food and staff. Thanks!
