They must have a new music director or something at this station now.
EZ Rock used to play nothing but slow, soft songs from the 80s, 90s and today. Adult contemporary featuring the likes of Rod Stewart, Elton John, Phil Colins, etc.
They still play those songs, but as of late, I’ve found a surprising diversity in its playlist.
Lately, I’ve heard songs like «Hot n’ Cold» by Katy Perry (something only The Bounce would play), «Dust In The Wind» by Kansas (typically only found on K-​Rock), «Closing Time» by Green Day (a staple of The Bear and Sonic) and «Breathe» by Faith Hill (a CISN standard).
There is some really diverse music on this station now, it even gives Joe FM a run for its money in that regard.
I guess they realized that there are only so many sectaries and soccer moms in this city that they would have to spice up there playlist in order to get the younger crowd and males interested.
I think they have succeeded. This is not the same EZ Rock of even a few years ago, it is a lot better and worth a listen to.
The only bad thing about this station is the month of December, because in December they play NOTHING BUT CHRISTMAS MUSIC ²⁴⁄₇. Utterly revolting.

A lot of people would probably describe EZ Rock as «old people» music, but I often find it very relaxing. The music is usually older stuff, but if it is newer, it is slower and softer than any of the stuff on The Bounce or Sonic or anything.
I enjoy listening to the comforting music when I am driving in the evening.
People can call EZ Rock «old people music», but if you’re looking for something soft and comforting EZ Rock is the way to go!

Some people complain about EZ Rock, but it’s really not that bad.
It’s probably the only radio that you can play in an office building or store that you can be sure will play the same kind of music consistently. All of EZ Rock’s music is appropriate for audiences of all ages (which is why it’s played in malls and such, and so is the commentary.
They play some good stuff — oldies and contemporary music — that is laid back. They don’t have heavy metal or rap songs making you jump out of your car seat.
They exist to be a family friendly station that is relaxing and low key. They accomplish this goal very well.
