I have been seeing Teresa at this location for Brazilian waxes(and underarm waxes every once in a while) for close to 5 years and she is straight up amazing! She is very thorough making sure she gets all the hair. She’s incredibly quick and gets my waxing done in about 10 minutes which is really nice considering that’s a pretty sensitive area. She’s friendly and very professional, feels like she’s my friend and she might as well be waving my eyebrows. Highly recommend her if you need any waxing services. She is wonderful :)

Received a $ 300 gift card for my birthday. Decided before I left on a vacation to Southeast Asia, I would book a pedicure/manicure day with my mom as we try to book one every couple months together. What a joke and complete RIPOFF!!! The services cost $ 296 for the two of us and both of us had our polish chipping in less than 24 hours. I’ve done pedis/manis in many expensive cities around the world but nothing has shocked me in price to quality ratio like this. Terrible! And my mom even brought her own OPI professional polish with her. I paid $ 16 for a pedi and 30 minute leg massage in Asia that was SUPERIOR in quality and even with swimming, walking in sand and abusing my feet daily, my polish lasted 4 weeks before it needed replacement. I understand comparing the two seems ridiculous but isn’t it ridiculous to pay almost $ 150/person to have such terrible work done?!? I stopped using the salon services over 13 years ago. I won’t ever use them for anything ever again.

Got a gift card for my birthday, so decided to use it and get a hair cut. Basic hair cut, chopped off 8 inches of hair, but no layers or color put in. I loved the hair cut and the stylist was extremely pleasant and polite — listened to exactly what I wanted. My only quam would be that it ended up costing $ 75 + tax + tip. Had I had some layers or more than a 10 minute chop, I don’t think I would have had as big of an issue paying that much. But apart from the price, very happy.

I’ve had a gift card for this spa for about 4 years. I’ve always just looked at the prices and decided it wasn’t worth paying so much, even with a gift card. I even tried calling the Academy version and asking if I could use the gift card there, to which they said no. I find that utterly annoying, not being able to use a gift card in their sister company simply because they want the user to go to the higher priced salon. So today I finally caved and went into an appointment for a manicure, I looked on Unilocal for the highest rating Eveline Charles and this was it, even though it has a few bad reviews of its own, I decided I might as well since its so close to where I live. I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t have to wait long and the technician started immediately. She was kind and knowledgeable. The soaking and nail shaping was great. Next came the massage and scrubbing of the arms and hands, also quite enjoyable and then came the paraffin. I had never been treated with the paraffin and thought that it would be more expensive as it is at other salons but it was included in the price which was a nice surprise. It was quite relaxing having the nail technician pamper me while having a great conversation together. Finally, it was time to apply the polish and move on. She advised me to get everything I needed now before the polish was applied so that it would be less of a chance to ruin them, quite nice of her to warn me ahead of time. Sadly the polish application was the least enjoyable part. My nail polish didn’t even make it home and I just live ten blocks down the road. Its already smudged and scratched. While the whole experience was great and the customer service was spot on, the fact that the polish was ruined after ten minutes of walking is what reduces the star rating. I understand that maybe you want to up sell your clients to gel polish or gel nails and have no smudging as a selling feature, but it would still be nice to have a good quality polish to show off for those who choose regular polish. Another benefit to this manicure was that the spa gave you a complimentary little bottle of polish to take home as well as the new nail buffer they used on you.

This place is terrible. What can I say. No products, overpriced and just sloppy I waited in the upstairs spa lounge for my therapist. I waited for over 15 minutes. This older Asian lady came running up the stairs and then slammed one of the doors. Finally she came out it was my therapist. She was now over 20 minutes late. She came out said coldly follow me and never apologized. She rushed my waxing due to the fact there was two more ladies there waiting. The job was terrible and left wax residue everywhere. I went down stairs after she followed and told me to rebook with her since she was the only and the best at brazillians at this location. Even though she was unfriendly, late and all she did was try to sell products. Needless to say I didn’t and I paid over 85 dollars for my service! Next day, I called the call centre to complain and they said they would get a manager to call me. No one ever called. Don’t go here!

I had a terrible experience a few years back with the city centre mall EC where the stylist who claimed she was a senior stylist yet she was about 2 years out of beauty school…(exactly what criteria gives you a ‘senior’ title?)…I was very reticent to ever go back to an EC but my regular and best salon Blunt in Edmonton could not take me on a moments notice so I figured that I would go for a walk-in appt. here and take a chance with a shampoo and trim. Well, sad to report not much has changed from my initial go around here in the past: — stylist is so adamant that my hair is ‘ruined’ by product and heat damage(yet I never use a blow dryer or heat iron –ever) that she insisted that I purchase their $ 300 package of products that change your ‘hair forever’ and make your locks lustrous… well ‘honey’ my locks are already like goldilocks… I don’t need help there, I was blessed by DNA, thank you! When I turned down the obvious sales pitch, the stylist turned down right rude and dismissive. While she gave a mediocre cut, would not say it was bad, it was not overwhelmingly good either. But what I really detest about this place is the sales push for their products… it so completely obvious that they make a tremendous amount of cash on their products and do they ever make you feel guilty if you don’t buy their products. Cost for a Shampoo and Cut is on the higher end here, so ask prices before you sit down in the chair and ask questions about your stylists such as what makes them a ‘senior stylist’? I paid well over $ 70 for this excruciating experience — shampoo, trim and blow-dry. I would make a pass on this chain of salons and seek out one of the singularly owned salons in the City who do not ‘push’ their products on you or try to make you feel like a worm because you will not buy into their ‘program’.

I have been very impressed every time I have come to this Eveline Charles location. The staff are friendly and I would have to say this is possibly the best facial I have ever had. My skin felt unbelievable after this facial, it was so soft and smooth, and perfect! The prices are a lot higher than the Academy which is just down the mall but I’m a firm believer in you get what you pay for and this definitely applies here! The location is extremely convenient especially when I was working in Commerce Place, but if you are LRTing, don’t fret the train station is linked to the mall, and it’s all in side! I will definitely come back here, and you should too!

I’m afraid I have to downgrade my original review of EC after my last visit. I waited so long for my appointment I thought I had been forgotten about… like SOLONG that when I went downstairs to ask where my aesthetician was they asked how my treatment was and how I would like to pay because they thought I was already done! I like that EC is pricey and feels luxurious, but I’ve opted for a local business now that’s considerably more attentive.

Maybe I’m just spoiled because TenSpa in Winnipeg is just so beautiful, great service and amazing treatments. However, so far, this is the best I can find in Edmonton. It’s quite pretty with a sleek design, but still chips in the paint and furniture that most likely not be fixed quickly. The service was fine, but not above an beyond. The service was great though. I got a massage and she was really nice and quite skilled. I just hate having to walk through a mall when I look like a mess after a spa treatment; nothing they can fix I guess. They did have lots of amenities to try to make me look normal before I leave; shampoo, combs etc… I wish they had something other then a relaxation room beforehand like a steam room or salt pool. I suppose space was an issue. It is really quite though and Bo where near the salon which is quite different then their other locations. Of course it’s pricey. That’s how they market themselves though so maybe just don’t go as often or sign up on their Facebook for deals!

A while ago, I noticed that Eveline Charles had eyebrow threading on their services list, which I’ve always wanted to try. I went inside and was able to get an appointment for half an hour later. When I returned for my appointment, the aesthetician informed me that eyebrow threading was not offered at this location! I was disappointed, since I had specifically asked for threading earlier but went ahead with waxing since my eyebrow situation was dire. Nice facility and friendly, experienced staff but failure to listen/communicate…

I came here once recently, as a walk-in, without anything in mind for what I wanted for my hair cut other than«short-ish.» I was given a robe to change into so my clothing wouldn’t get full of hair — this was great! I got a little bored sitting and waiting, as they seemed to have a pretty limited selection of reading material(just because you go to a spa doesn’t mean you’re a total girly girl) but that wasn’t too big of a deal. The facilities seemed clean and well maintained except for a small area where the hair washing was done, which seemed a little worse for wear. Someone other than my stylist washed and conditioned my hair before the cut. I’d been to EvelineCharles in West Edmonton Mall twice before, and at that location I got a really nice scalp massage along with the wash. In this particular experience, the«massage» felt more like being scratched with a toilet brush. It was just kind of chill-inducing. The stylist I was paired with(I’m sorry, I don’t remember her name) was younger, maybe mid-twenties, but was still considered a senior stylist. I thought this was a little odd, and that the price(around $ 70) was a little high, but the staff informed me of the price before the cut and there were no extra charges, so I’m happy about that. The stylist had a wonderful idea on how to cut and style my hair. Actually, it was the best hair cut I’ve had in years. She was quite technically capable, but she did lack a little in friendliness when it came to casual conversation. The experience wasn’t horrible or anything, it just wasn’t as relaxed as I’d hoped. The cut ended up being easy to style and looked good without being styled as well, which is hard to pull off with my hair. Overall, I’m impressed with the fantastic hair cut I got, but it’s not something I can afford on a regular basis.
