It’s not as busy as it usually is. My hashbrowns were perfectly cooked, over medium eggs were actually over medium. The fruit cup was a nice mix not all melon. Lots of good pineapple.

I want to keep this place a secret, but I can’t! This is completely my kind of restaurant. The food is great simple diner food, the service was great, but really, I just love these small family-run restaurants that have style and warmth. Don’t come if you’re expecting elevated cuisine. Come for a good brunch. Buy pie. You’ll be happy.

Great family owned diner! Homemade pies and menu is great. Definitely would recommend this as a must. It’s usually busy so Don’t be surprised if you have to wait a few minutes for a table.

Never heard of this place before today. Was walking past and it smelled so good. So we went in for lunch. The food was great and the service was even better than that

We came here on a Friday morning for breakfast after the big rush, nearer to 10 – 10:30 and were offered a couple seating options and settled on a table with banquette seating. My husband had coffee but I just had water this timeand then for our food order he had the big breakfast, 3 eggs, sausage, bacon and ham and I had a 2 egg omelette with salsa and cheese and we both opted for the toast and hashbrowns instead of the pancakes. I was glad to see they had a 2 egg option, I’m not a big eater and breakfast never reheats well, so it was nice to get a portion size closer to what I could handle. I was pleasantly surprised when the owner came over because she recognized me from when our sons had taken playschool together. 13 or 14 years ago! That’s the kind of vibe you get here, that you are in a small town and everyone knows everybody, a pleasant change from alot of the nameless faceless chain restaurants out there. Our food came out quick and piping hot and delicious, we asked for HP sauce(my husbands from Scotland) and that completed our needs. All in all the food was good value for the money, the service was efficient and super friendly, I wish they were open a few more hours so I could frequent them more often and be able to bring the kids in too, but I also understand that as a family run business, it’s important to maintain a balance between work and home and with the hours that the restaurant is open, I would hope that they are achieving that. Now to try and plan a time I can get there to try their afternoon menu!

We stumbled upon this gem by sheer accident. Very glad we did. It’s a sweet little diner tucked in a residential neighbourhood that I never would have found on my own. We were Served within seconds of walking in and no more than a few minutes would pass without someone checking on us or freshening our coffee. As a breakfast junkie, these are the kind of places I adore. Homemade food. Real ingredients. Good servings. Amazing.

Well that was a very pleasant surprise it started when I phoned to confirm Google was wrong about the place being closed Saturdays and was greeted by name(caller id) and ended with sharing hot sauce tips and pie for breakfast with the province’s minister of health. Yeah the food is good, quality ingredients prepared with care but I’ll be back because of the way the staff make every guest feel like an honoured one… That is not what you get alongside you bacon and eggs at most places and here it seems that it’s guaranteed!

Arrived at 10am on a Saturday morning. There was a lineup outside store. There were about 7 or so people waiting. Good thing it wasn’t snowing outside but it was chilly! Through the window I saw empty tables which I found kind of puzzling. It took about 20 minutes to get a seat and 40 minutes total to receive our food. There were 2 waitresses and 1 hostess. It’s busy here but the waitresses are pleasant and efficient. I ordered the Breakfast special($ 7.99) which had 2 sunny side up eggs and 3 pancakes. I could’ve opted for toast and hashbrowns but I was in a sweet mood. Since it was chilly outside I also ordered a hot chocolate($ 2.49).The pancakes were fluffy, large and yummy. The portions were pretty big. I could have shared this with someone. I left one pancake on my plate. I was totally stuffed! My boyfriend ordered the Big Breakfast($ 12.99) which had 3 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, ham, hash browns and toast. I had some of his bacon, sausage and toast — I could’ve ordered my own on the side but he just shared with me. He had a «special coffee» with a shot of Baileys($ 6.25). Our bill came to around $ 30.83 which isn’t too bad considering the portions and the fact we also ordered drinks. Overall I thought this place was good. Conveniently located a few minutes from our condo. It’s tucked into a residential area strip mall. There’s a variety of pies and desserts. We were tempted to order the lime berry pie or some crack squares but after breakfast we were so full! We’ll have to try the desserts next time! I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you’re in a rush. But I definitely suggest you come with an empty stomach!

This is one of my favourite all-day breakfast diners in the city. I only go when I have a day off during the week because I have heard the weekends will have hordes of humans lining up outside the establishment — and for good reason — this place yields friendly service with great prices accompanied with delicious home-made food. If you’re new to the city and are looking for a place for some grub I would highly recommend this family-owned diner.

My favorite family-run restaurant has the friendliest atmosphere in Edmonton. Well worth the trek to a somewhat well hidden location in a north-side strip mall. Hours of operation are something to be aware of; they are limited. Easily one of the best breakfast menus in town. Make sure to leave some energy for the amazing pies that are hand-baked everyday. Limited seating, but during busy periods, wait times are usually quite short. One of Edmonton’s most polished gems. Do yourself a favour and check the great service and fantastic food.

A hidden gem in Wellington, a perfect little diner ran by a husband(Lyle the chef and the amazing pie maker) and wife(Pam the best server who makes you feel like you are part of the family) Hathaway’s is always busy because it’s just an amazing place to eat and enjoy the atmosphere, the food I should say is amazing and we are never disappointed, it’s just a great place to meet up with friends and family:)

I’ve been here twice now. Both times were amazing service and great food. They have a simple two page menu, breakfast served all day. Any place that does breakfast all day is automatically a level up for me. Their Big Breakfast is a killer amount of food for the price! But save room for the freshly made pies. They are to die for.

Hm, what to say about Hathaway’s Diner? Co-workers of mine absolutely adore this place and always seem to get take out from them. I’ve tried their takeout but I always prefer going to a restaurant, it’s just so much better. The aroma coming from the kitchen, people watching, being served, the list goes on and on. If you’ve never been to Hathaway’s before, it is tucked away in a random, residential area. Blink and you’ll probably miss it. A buddy of mine and I decided to check them out on a Thursday for lunch. Arriving a few minutes after noon, the place was bumping with quite the diverse group of eaters. The diner is small but cozy. We had to wait a few minutes for a table but there always seemed to be people coming and going, so the wait wasn’t long. They had two specials of the day. The BBQ chicken and ribs combo was tempting but $ 19.99 is a bit steep for lunch. I thought there’d be diner prices! Apparently not. The other lunch special was much more reasonable, with a soup included. — Thursday soup and sandwich special($ 10.99) — turkey barley and the sandwich(choice of white or brown bread) with corned beef, swiss, lettuce and tomato. Note, in this picture, there’s only half the sandwich as we shared. I’m not sure why but the waitress had a slight difficulty understanding that concept, haha. Anyways, I had half and it reminded me of a BLT, but with corned beef instead of bacon. It would have been better if they melted the cheese instead of having it cold. Ordinary keeps on popping into my mind. — Grilled chicken breast burger($ 10.99) — a decent sized chicken breast with special sauce, pickle, red onion, tomato and lettuce. You also get a choice of fries, soup or salad — I went with onion rings but there weren’t a lot of them on my plate. Could have easily ate another handful. The chicken burger and onion rings were decent but nothing you can’t get elsewhere. Simple diner food indeed. I just expect more with a 93% rating on Urbanspoon. I guess north side is pretty limited in their food choices… If I come back, I’ll have to try out their pies($ 5.00 for a slice or $ 25.00 if you want to bring one home) or come on a Saturday to try their infamous eggs benny(which are only available Saturday). Would I drive out all the way north side though? Probably not. But if you work nearby, this seems like the spot, but beware of their with limited hours of 7am-4pm(closed Mondays and Sundays).

I love this place. One of Edmonton’s hidden gems. I have never had a bad meal. The owners are very friendly, staff are great, and the food is tasty. What else can you ask for? Best place for brunch that I know of for casual food. Lunch is good too. Don’t expect to come for dinner, they close at 4.

Breakfast here rocks. Quite possibly the best hash browns in the city. Actually every dish here is great. Hamburgers are homemade and are outstanding as well.
