I loved this little restaurant. The lunch specials were great. Unfortunately I went there for lunch on January 8, 2016 and it was closed down. Sorry to give the bad news to all who loved it. If it opens elsewhere, please post the new location.

I went here with a friend to get a quick bite, however, from the read of the signage I thought it would be someplace where we could get a quick glass of wine and«aperitivi» type foods(the signage does say«Tapas», so…). When we entered, I realized that it was more of a «café’» and having seen the menu and its hours, it is more of a breakfast/lunch/late lunch spot. It is a welcome surprise to this shopping area since there aren’t really any«easy» places to go and have a quick piece of cake and coffee or a sandwich. The people who work there are nice enough and quite attentive. The food is solid and again, it is an easy, home made quality kind of spot. NOT fancy and not hip, just simple. Having thought it was one thing and instead another wasn’t a bad thing… but just so any of you who may read that awning thinking«Tapas» means what I thought it did… it doesn’t :-) But, if you are looking for a quick and easy something as you shop until you drop at Mayfield Common, this is a reasonable spot to consider :-)

Worst customer service. Upon entering my husband and I were greeted with hi guys sit anywhere. Then our waitress can walking up in flip flops very unorganized and scatterbrained. Another staff person walked in with flaming red hair in a mess not brushed she looked as this she rolled out of bed and walked into work. We were the only customers in the place. Our food was very good(breakfast). The older gentleman proceeded to take a nap on one of the lounge chairs while everyone else was chatting and whatnot. He stayed napping the entire 45 minutes we were there. The waitress came with the bill. We found it rather high for what we had but so be it. Turns out she had over charged us and it was corrected at the till after she and the red hair waitress checked it over. Needless to say we won’t be returning anytime soon.

A nice little café. The lasagne is fantastic. The paninis and spaghetti bolognese is good too.

We were disappointed by the Italian Panini’s we had here. The meat and bread were good however it was served with processed cheese. I would not return.

I only discovered this spot when I was meeting a friend at Boston Pizza, next door. This morning, I was waiting for a prescription, and decided to try breakfast here. Lovely little restaurant, nicely decorated with an open kitchen area in the center. I seated myself at a 2 top, and a friendly waitress was there for my drink order in under a minute. I went for the Mediterranean Omelet, which arrived in about 12 minutes, and was a delight to behold. Beautifully plated, it was a perfectly cooked fluffy omelet with ripe olives, feta, red peppers and onion folded inside. There was a generous portion of each of the filling, and all were cooked perfectly. The onelet was topped with slices of fresh tomato, and slivers of cooked red pepper around the sides, with beautiful, tender home fried potatoes on the side. Toast was a light local rye, barely singed, which allowed the freshness of the bread to shine. I usually consider toast as a «throw away,» but I ate every slice of this. This is definitely a European take on the omelet, and bears little resemblance to the common Cowboy Breakfast people are used to in Edmonton. Ever aspect of this dish was done with delicacy. Nothing was over cooked, and this is a breakfast for a discerning palate, more than a grease rich hangover cure. The one negative for me here was that my first cup of coffee was burnt. Leaving a carafe on a hot plate too long will ruin a pot of good coffee, and it is a rookie mistake. The second cup, was excellent, so they redeemed themselves with a fresh pot. The service was friendly, efficient and professional. The Café advertises breakfast, lunch and tapas, and I now must return for the latter. That will be the benchmark of quality. Breakfasts are pretty easy, but they are also easy to screw up. This one was excellent, and I look forward to tapas in the near future.

I have been here 3 times now, 2 times alone and once with my husband, and I love it here! The atmosphere is nice, the service is super friendly, and the food is amazing! I can’t seem to peel myself away from the chicken mushroom crepes as I have ordered them ALL3 times I’ve been here, simply because they are so delicious and savory with the right combinations of flavors, I always feel satisfied! I’ve paired it with both a Caesar salad as well as the cream of spinach and bacon soup and both were fresh and tasty. I’m hoping next time I’m here I will finally try another dish but those crepes keep luring me back. It’s also nice that you can have a beer or some wine with your meal, a huge bonus for me. My husband had the turkey Cobb sandwich with the spicy carrot soup and it was delicious! The sandwich was fresh and balanced, the the carrot soup and had an amazing cinnamon/nutmeg finish to it– we were both extremely happy with our lunch and can’t wait to try the breakfast one day soon! And also, I have to mention the wonderful service, very and friendly and sweet and compliments this wonderful little restaurant! Try it out!

Been a couple times now, usually ordering the Mushroom and Chicken crêpe & salad. It’s easily the best crêpe I’ve ever had. Super savoury and creamy. Their lattes are also fab, not a hint of acidity. Will surely be back for another weekend brunch!

We went in for breakfast this morning, and I’m sad to say it was rather disappointing. The waitress was very nice, but inexperienced. We were one of only two tables, but I’m not sure that the fact that it was quiet had an effect on the food. The menu is a page long, and pretty basic unless you like omelettes – those take up a quarter of the menu. Husband ordered the light breakfast, and I ordered the Belgian waffle and fresh fruit with some trepidation(It doesn’t say what kind of fruit. I should have asked.) but also with an open mind. The waitress asked us both what kind of toast we would like.(Toast with a waffle?) We both just declined. So she brought us jam and honey, but I had to ask for syrup for my waffle.(I’m blaming that on inexperience.) My troll’s hashbrowns were good, but his eggs weren’t quite cooked. My waffle came with cut up strawberries, banana, pineapple… but half of the fruit was that ever popular culinary filler – melon. Ugh! Does anyone actually eat cantaloupe or honey dew? The whipped cream was flavorless and stingy. I didn’t have enough fruit or whipped cream for the whole waffle. I didn’t finish it. When our waitress checked on us Dan mentioned, and showed her the slightly undercooked egg but declined new ones. She didn’t take anything off the bill, so essentially he paid $ 7.50 for hashbowns. The prices and service were good, but to be honest, I’d rather pay more and go to Hap’s or Chez Cora’s or even Roman’s down the street. I’d come here for lunch again, but when it comes to breakfast, these guys can’t compete.

I have been coming here since moving to Edmonton and have always had a wonderful experience. The lunch menu is fantastic and their breakfast eggs Benedict is great. My gf and I frequent this place and are always greeted warmly by owners and staff. The soups are fantastic, the cheesy beer is especially good. I always drag friends an family here and have a great time.

You could easily miss this place tucked away in between the big box stores in mayfield. Inside is a elegantly decorated and furnished café, where all the food and drinks are cooked and poured in the middle for everyone to see. Ordered the creamy dill soup and turkey cob sandwich. Dill soup was a little salty but very tasty. Sandwich contained sprouts, turkey, mayo, avacado, pickles, eggs and cheese. What an explosion of flavor. The sandwich was pretty packed so it fell apart as I was eating it, but I was very impressed non the less. Staff was great also. I will return!

Wow! Was introduced to this place by a former co-worker as we enjoyed going for breakfast before our days off and he was told about it by his wife who works in the area. We always made a point of trying new places and not just Denny/Smitty/Cora etc. I’ve come here three times now. The place is a bit on the smaller side, but as we would come around 8:00-ish waiting was never an issue. The coffee is decent, refilled when needed and the food is great. I believe I’ve always had the same thing so I’m a bit of an expert! Hahaha. I get the waffle omelet(?) which is delicious eggs mixed with your choice of 3 fillings from a choice of maybe 8 or so. It comes cooked as a waffle! And the side potatoes were awesome. If you like chunks of pan fried potato nicely seasoned then these are for you. And toast. Well, what can you say about toast… hmmm… YEAH! TOAST! Sadly, I’m not usually in the area(Mayfield Common) anymore but am definately feeling the pull for a great breakfast here. The staff are friendly and I believe tbey also do lunch but I’ve not had that… yet.

Great soup and sandwiches. Really good coffee and no lineups to get one togo. Great soup and sandwiches. Really good coffee and no lineups to get one togo.
