Came here on the recommendation of a friend. Parking is plentiful as this restaurant is part of a strip mall. The front door here is freaking HUGE. Felt like a kid walking into here. The interior is upscale and classy. Reminds me of a Cactus Club, but with a brighter interior(good). Oh, and he items cost $ 3 – 5 more. Just a FYI. The waiter was very friendly but casual. He joked around with us too while serving our dishes. A sense of humour is always good. The ribs here are very good. Very reasonable too, at $ 26 for a full rack. The meat pulls right off the bone, but stays in one chunk. The peppercorn mushroom steak($ 37) here is great too. Very generous portion at 10oz, and completely covered in mushrooms. Delicious. My only complaint is that the«chef’s potatoes» is really a fancy way of saying«hash browns». Seriously. I’m talking about the«chunks of potatoes» kind, not the shredded variety. Special mention goes to the cappuccino pie. This has to be one of the best coffee cakes I’ve had in my life. Just the right amount of sweetness, and beautiful coffee taste. It was just a *bit* on the frozen side, but a few minutes later it was fine. I would recommend coming here just for this item. A bit on the pricey side(for the steaks), but excellent quality. Recommended.

My husband and I went for dinner last evening as we had gift certificates for Ric’s. We have tried this location in the past and said we would never go back as the service and food was less than stellar. I was surprised at the change last evening. The service was good and the food was better than it had been in the past. We were seated in the lounge which was different for us as our past visits we were seated in the restaurant. The service was prompt for both drinks and food. Bread was served as a starter and it was fresh but barley above room temperature. We shared an order of stuffed mushrooms(crab and shrimp) that also was not as hot as I would like it and had much too much sauce/cheese and I am not actually sure if it had any seafood at all in it. Both my husband and I had steak and it was above standard. I little warmer than the rest of the meal which suited us. We will give it another try to see if they really did improve or if it was a one time blaze of greatness.

We tried to go here once as it was close to our house and made a reservation for Valentine’s Day at 6 pm. Upon arrival, we mentioned to the receptionist that we have a reservation and the first thing that came out of her mouth was«Can you please be finished in about 2 hours as we have another reservation at 8?». So basically I just said to her«Well, geez, we haven’t even been seated yet and already this question? I guess it depends on how prompt the service is in this place». So she just looked at us like an idiot and asked one the server that that was standing there to sit us down. Upon being seated, the server remarked that they have the right to ask the question as it’s one of their busiest days. We told him we know how busy it gets during V-day and that’s why we made a reservation a couple of weeks ahead. However, we found it extremely rude to not welcome the guests first and politely ask about it once we’re seated. Besdies, we don’t like to linger once we’re done eating in any restaurants. Suffice it to say that we just stood up and left since we already lost our appetite to have anything from this place. I’m happy to say that we’ve never gone to any Ric’s Grill restaurant after this incident.

How do you spell delicious? R-I-C-S G-R-I-L-L! Seriously! Not only is this place gorgeous inside, but the service and the food are incredible. I would be willing to say the best in the city. Our server was great. He was attentive and he was quick. He checked on us but he didn’t smother us. He was great. He was so polite and happy too. He really made our experience there even better. The food was amazing. We both has steak and OHMYGOODNESS was it yummy. There was some fat on it but it took a couple seconds to trim it off so it wasn’t a big deal. My boyfriend’s steak was cooked medium but he ordered medium rare. After he tried it though, he was glad it was medium. He said it was one of the best steaks he’d ever had and they did him a favour by cooking it medium. Mine was cooked just as I had asked it to be. YUM! Yes, the food is expensive but it is worth it. The service, the atmosphere, the food, it’s all worth it. One of the best date spots in the city!

My boyfriend and I went out for a nice dinner here last night and we were really impressed. Our server came quickly enough to let us know we were a priority, but not so quickly that we hadn’t even opened our menus. She warned us that our wine selection may not be available because their liquor order hadn’t come in that day. We ordered a pinot grigio and she said they didn’t have it in. She got a sample of another wine and we tried it, although it was out of our price range. We ordered a half litre of chardonnay and she came back to tell us that she found a bottle of our original choice and she would be right over with it. The food came within a decent amount of time. I think the whole point of this restaurant is that you sit and enjoy your meal and company. We never felt rushed which was wonderful and we felt as if we were waited on hand and foot. We will definitely be back to Rics Grill again.

Nice décor, quality of food was good, not excellent. Found the service to be rather lacking. Our appetizer which took 15 mins to be delivered, the kicker was the main course which was over 35 mins following the appetizer. As I was about to get up and leave it arrived. I certainly didn’t expect this level of service given the cost of the meal, and the upscale atmosphere they were portraying. Drinks were not refilled without effort, empty plates were not cleared off the table quickly and our waitress was focused heavily elsewhere throughout our meal and only became interested in us at the end of the meal(looking for a tip … good luck on that one!). Won’t waste my time going back.
