I like that this SB is situated right beside Save On Foods. There’s always an abundance of parking. It does get pretty busy in there but their staff seems to make it up with their pleasant greetings and smiles. I like doing my leisurely reading in the corner of where their couches are.

Starbucks, it is what it is. I stopped in to get my sister her Pumpkin Spice Latte, and I got myself a Caramel Macchiato(or however you spell it). It was hot, and tasty. The barista who served us was patient and humorous. It was early on Sunday morning and it was pretty busy but we still got our stuff within a reasonable time.

Service has gone through the floor here, and to be fare most locations have as well. 20 – 30 min waits are not uncommon at busy times. Wrong orders happen more then they should. I’ve gone from going daily to maybe once a month. And may not bother anymore.

I NEEDED a morning coffee on my way to a work meeting. I had a few minutes to relax as I was ahead of schedule and figured with the location i wouldn’t have much of a relaxing setting. I was pleasantly surprised that I could find a comfortable quiet spot to sit and relax. What blew me out of the water was the staff. I was greeted with such a welcome I had thought I must know the barista! As I sat and observed I saw that the wonderful early morning staff greeted everyone so kindly. They had a stream of regulars they chatted with and always had smiles. It was such a relaxing joyful setting I cannot wait to come back throughout the week!

It’s a great location with a wonderful set of staff. There’s quite a bit of seating, tons of windows and even some patio chairs — all in all the perfect place to come and people watch or catch up with some friends. It can get really busy in there, so be prepared for a line up. With usually only two baristas working, it can be a bit of a wait for your drink. The drinks are always well made though, so the wait is worth it.

No, I know, right? 4 stars. Just hear me out. There is a barista at this location of Starbucks that might just be the real life Santa Claus. He is the most jolly man I’ve ever encountered — with a belly full of jelly to match! Friendly, funny, and makes a decent foamy latte, too. Docking a point because they replaced the big comfy couches with regular tables and chairs. Why make the place less welcoming? It’s close to my house and close to Tokyo Express and Mongoli Grill. Cheap fast food and coffee date? Yes, please.

So I’m going to throw 4 stars their way. I know there is quite a divided community on Unilocal about starbucks but here is my reasoning. 1) This location is quick, has decent hours, and the staff are extra-friendly. 2) This place is a quick walk from my office and has a ton of outdoor sunny seating that is perfect for zoning out and catching up on the vitamin D. 3) There is a little more seating than the one up on Whyte ave, so I always find a place to sit and do work. 4) Top-notch people watching. I’ve seen some hilarious pick-up-artists, awkward first dates, super-keen«pyramid err umm… triangle scheme» sellers and gorgeous athletes of both genders looking for a pick-up after their run over at Strathcona field. 4 good points. 4 Stars.

This is my local Starbucks and I often stop by here when out running errands since it’s close to both my usual post office and my usual grocery store. Same old story as every other Starbucks, right? Right, except for some reason their wireless Internet hates me lately. Whenever I try to connect I get weird error messages, which is a total bummer when I’ve stopped in to work over a decaf Americano and order only to discover when I sit down that I actually cannot do any work. In fact, I’m there right now, siphoning radio waves from some other random signal. I may even fall off the Internet before I get a chance to hit ‘post’ on this review. Fingers crossed. PS: Lauren’s review comments on the three plush chairs at this location; I’m happy to report that that number has been upped to FOUR.

I know what you’re thinking … «She’s reviewing a Starbucks? Everybody knows what Starbucks is like!» Well, you don’t know MY Starbucks, do ya? Yeah, that’s right … so shaddup!(please keep reading my reviews) My Starbucks has more than just the slightly overpriced coffee, and the long counter at the window where you can sit and watch people go by, trying to creep them out with your staring. What, you don’t do that? My Starbucks has three(that’s right, THREE) plushy seats in this little semi-private corner, and, get this — a singing Starbucks girl. I call her that because I don’t know her name. She’s a very happy person, my singing Starbucks girl. And she doesn’t care that everyone can hear her, she just sings whatever. Some ppl may find it annoying, but I like it … it kind of just blends in with their music. The coffee-shop also arranges their tables in a way so that not all the tables are smooshed together. I like that too, more privacy for each table. You can write or read whatever without feeling someone is peeking over your shoulder. Now if only they would lower their prices a bit, I could give them a full 5-star rating … just kidding!
